What are the top five qualities you look for in a friend ?

Alright, so I usually just go with my gut feeling. I do not want to judge anyone wrongly. I guess if I had to sum it up I would say these five: LOYALTY, trustworthiness, funniness, supportive, and kind to me and others. These are all really important to me. I had to cut off a friend because she spoke bad about me behind my back and she always backstabs me. She would always get mad at me if I would not do what she wanted. So these are all very important in my perspective.

Here's my list of traits, ordered in no particular order:

  1. Kindness/empathy towards others.
  2. Can they make me laugh without resorting to mean jokes?
  3. Are they willing to stay by my side no matter what?
  4. If they consistently exude positive energy rather than negative energy.
  5. Do they keep as much of their promises as they possibly can?

How convenient I found this when Im debating about it myself. :D

I guess it goes like this:

1 Someone who isn't immorale in my opinion. (I won't befriend Extreme racists, homophobes, you get me.)

2 A Nice person. (Nice is a super compliment in my opinion)

3 Not an idiot.

Can't think of anything else, I think nice tells most of it. :ButtercupLaugh:

1. Being there in good and bad times. Not just a comment, but trying to find ways to make such time better

2. Being smart, as in always wanting to learn, or talk about the things that makes one happy.

3. Surprises. Always keeping the friendship new and exciting.

4. Talking about things that might be considered difficult, or at least trying.

5. Having fun, and if not, at least trying to not bring you down.

A friendship doesn't have to be all that. A nice comment every now and then is enough. However, going above that makes it unique and worth while. As long as both are putting down the same level of commitment
