I know how easy it is to misclick on someone's name, so nah, its usually nothing to worry about. In some ways, its kind of nice to see them show up. it just shows to show that they're human and are actually invested in the boards rather than just patrolling the topics for spam.

If it really bothers you, you can turn off "Show last 5 visitors on my profile" in your profile settings. That way you won't see it, at least.

• You are banned
• You are going to be warned
• You are going to be PMed because something

Or, the least possible of them all:

• Nothing bad

How can you know which one is the correct though? You will never know.

  To be honest I probably wouldn't even notice since I don't check the last visitor thingy. If I did though I probably wouldn't even realize that they're a mod anyway.

I view lots of profiles so it's not the first time I've heard this sort of thing  Used to happen a lot more than it does now, but I'd pretty regularly get PM's from people asking what they did wrong because I looked at their profile.  Usually though I'm just strolling through the forum and saw a post or status of yours that interested me so I went to see your profile. Most frequently if I view someone's profile it's either because I'm reading their statuses just cause I feel like reading their statuses, or it's because I liked their post and either want to read their profile to learn more about the person or I want to check their name history to see if it's someone I know since people like to change their names a lot x)

 

Even on the rare occasion staff are viewing your profile because something you posted got reported, it doesn't mean you did anything wrong.  A lot of reports get made that just get closed because the person didn't break any rules, we'll still end up checking out your profile in the process of looking at a report. And also keep in mind not even a lot of staff viewing your profile means there's a report. The staff are all users of this site too so a lot of time people or posts will get brought up in a casual social chat between staff. Maybe you made a funny post or status and it got linked to in a staff group on Skype so you got 3 or 4 profile views from mods.  Or maybe we're looking for possible mod candidates and your name came up.  Could literally be anything.

 

Best advice I can give people is to just not worry about it. Everybody at one point or another will have staff view their profile. Even if you broke a rule somewhere on the forum, you'd probably already know if you broke a big enough rule to be worried about any serious repercussions. (I'm guessing you didn't accidentally post porn and forget about it afterall). More often than not you'll just get a staffer politely asking you not to do something again.

 

So long story short, don't worry about it.

I've gotten points from moderators (mostly for going off topic).  One of them criticized me for poor quality posts.  Now, IMO, that is just adding insult to injury.  Still, at least this site doesn't have flame wars & the points wear off

Just be calm, the only reasons I ever review profiles is to ban you all, muhahahaha and get to know you better . It is rather interesting to look at other peoples profiles and learn something new ^^.

I see no reason to be paranoid when someone visits my profile, including admins. I mean, I don't think I've broken any rules yet, and I live by the rule that, if I post something online, I obviously don't mind if strangers know about whatever it may be that I posted, including whatever I *eventually* put on the About Me section.

When i visit peoples profiles, it's because of various reasons. Sometimes i am just visiting, sometimes i want something from the user and sometimes i want to just joke around with him, not in a hurtful manner of course.

I haven't checked users' profile to confirm, but it would amuse me to know if staff members who have seen this thread specifically visited users who said that they feared them.

I got about twenty or so visits within the hour of opening this thread, at least half of them mods. Pretty sure everybody else got noticed as well

It depends on what moderator it is.

A handful of mods give me a "SENPAI ACKNOWLEGES MY EXISTANCE!" feeling.

The rest I don't think too much about. But once multiple mods look at my profile, things are going dooooooown!

I once got visited by 3 mods in a day... I have never been soo scared in my life!

Moderators are a bit scary... Just a little bit...

I disabled the last 5 visitors on my profile back in my first day on this forum. I did that because... not entirely conscious reasons, I dunno . Maybe that was because I can get a bit anxious about what people think about me, if too many people visit my profile I might think that I did something wrong, or if it is too little then I might think that people hate me . But I am aware that I am worrying too much about such things, and I think that the last 5 visitors is a neat little feature to have, so I am activating it right now .

 

Anyways, I don't think that having people seeing your profile is a reason of concern. Most likely they were just curious, and that is an honor

Nope I don't worry about staff viewing my profile, I think they mainly visit profiles for the same reasons as any other members, curiosity or they wish to say hello or say something etc.
