Best Episode Title

What is/are your favorite episode title(s) of the show? Whether because it's clever, rolls off the tongue, makes you chuckle, or whatever, I'm interested in hearing some of your favorites.

 

For me, one of my favorites that comes instantly to mind is "Filli Vanilli." I knew it was probably a reference, but I just didn't get it for another couple of years. I knew it was probably a reference to a singer or band, but I didn't think much more into it.

 

Turns out it was based on the duo Milli Vanilli, two famous singers who were revealed to be frauds when they were caught lip-syncing onstage when their song started skipping. And, if you know the plot of the episode, then the reference makes a lot more sense.

 

Plus I love puns.

Yes! Absolutely. This is something that I've often thought about, and both Filli Vanilli and "Magical mystery cure" come to mind

 

MMT because it's a reference to one of the Beatles albums, which also happens to be the same name as one of the tours in my home town

"The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows" is a hilarious episode title in my opinion. But if we're talking about the BEST one, I'd pick "Keep Calm and Flutter On".

I really like Amending Fences because I didn't know what it meant until after watching the episode. Now when I hear phrases like "make amends" or "mending fences", I think about MLP.

My pick is definitely "Filli Vanilli" (and it seems I'm not alone). Such a great pun, and it fits the story of the episode perfectly.

Although I am not the biggest fan of the ep I do believe that the best title is "For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils".

Honestly I dislike 90% of the episodes titles in the show, there's nothing wrong with making pop culture references and puns in these titles, but I personally never liked them any bit, titles like "Keep Calm and Flutter On" never sounded good or funny to me, and they make it hard for me to remember what exactly these episodes are about, this one in specific I would've preferred if they just called "Discord Returns", I prefer basic titles that just tell what we are going to see in the episode, like they how they do for most of the two parts, titles like "The Return of Harmony", "A Canterlot Wedding", "Princess Twilight Sparkle"! "The Crystal Empire" are some of the best in the series in my opinion, just a simple title that tells what we should expect from the episode, no need for a pop culture reference or pun, simple titles just sound really good for me.

I believe "Twilight's Kingdom" is my personal favorite.

Though I also really like "Magical Mystery Cure", but it's because for me the mix of words sounds great, and not because it's a reference to the Beatles.
