Out of the two options, the Republican Party seems to be very (very) slightly less corrupt and does not want to ban guns, so I'd vote for them. Americans would probably call me a Socialist or Communist though.

I like both Sanders and Trump, even better if there was a candidate who had the economic policies of Sanders (public healthcare etc), but wanted to build a wall and prevent illegal immigration, also not pander to the "social" far-left (the "50 genders", "safe space" and "female-only company management is awesome, male-only company management is sexist" crowd). The law can be changed to allow more people in, but there should be no illegal immigrants at all - all currently illegal immigrants should be vetted and either given an official permit to live in the US (and pay taxes, most people) or deported (those convicted of a felony other than crossing the border illegally).

the right of the conservative party here is still roughly the democrat party's center

Yeah I didn't really word that that well, meant to say I'm past the right of the Conservative Party which is probably still a bit left of the Republicans in the US. Though could still not align with the Democrats there as they do seem to have a prevalant far left in their party much like the UK Labour Party does.

Too complex for me to decide. I know too little about American politics.

In my own country, I think the politics left<-center->right is opposite to the Americans, or maybe it was the colors red/blue? That means I would probably say something but mean the other.

This almost describes my opinions to the T, except I don’t really like Trump.  He’s just too insincere.

I also really hate the SJW crap that’s infected the Democratic Party.  I also don’t like their anti-gun stance as I don’t believe that’s the problem.

But more importantly  I believe in more things like universal healthcare, better welfare, social programs, and etc.  I just never see any republicans supporting it.

They’ll have my vote when they decide to as there’d be no reason for me to vote dem after that due to my pro-gun stance.

There is a bigger problem with that classification - both economic policies and social policies can be "left" or "right", but they do not depend on each other. Someone can be for universal basic income and progressive taxes ("left" policies) and at the same time against abortion and immigration ("right" policies). Obviously that person is not "center" either.

I know the sample size is small, but the fact that the Democratic party has SO little representation on that graph is a ringing indictment on how poorly it's been representing its base. You have people like me who identify as Left of the democrat party cause they are so tired of corporate interests dominating where the party goes. The very fact that this shambling incoherent segregationist Biden is our FRONT Runner is a damn joke and the whole party should be ashamed of it. Then you got the people who are identify as between the democrat and republican parties. Aka the "F-ck the both of them segment." Honestly I can't blame people for not wanting to pick a side with how egregiously terrible both parties are.

Some of that group are also influenced by cherry picked footage of dumb college kids and think that's the entirety of the left. I was down the "anti sjw" rabbit hole myself a few years back. The Corporate bought politicians and cynical advertising companies tastelessly parrot some of the dumb college kids talking points to pretend to be "WOKE" for the left. Nobody left of the democratic party buys any of that crap, they're just doing it for cash.

What's worse is it feeds into the "Anti sjw" conspiracy theories, making that crowd think that "THE SJWS ARE TAKING OVER THE WORLD OMG WE GOTTA FIGHT BACK RIGHT NOW."

Honey I WISH. Just because Hollywood and Politicians give meaningless lip service to "SJW" things doesn't mean they buy into it for a second. they are soulless corporations and equally soulless politicians who are bought and paid for by those corporations. Outside of what they blab to the public, they agree with the extreme right far more often than us. You just need to look at any corporate dems voting record to see what I mean. Turns out "RESISTING" Trump doesn't include voting, cause they vote WITH Trump far more often than you'd be led to believe.

Personally, I'd be more than happy to see the Democratic party pulled down around these corporate shills ears and kick every ONE of those useless old people to the damn curb so we could put in a party that actually represents the left.

Yea, well too difficult to get into.

And in our country, it has become even more difficult to as each party keeps mixing ideas from each other to try to gain votes.

I'm more on the right side of things. There are a few areas where I agree with the left, but most of their stuff just comes off as nonsense to me.

I'm outside that spectrum. The whole system of political parties was only invented to separate people and make us a weaker unit so the government can control us more easily. I don't buy into that kind of shit. I like freedom, love, and community. That's why I think we should have no higher power and just work together.

I'm not on the right, so I'm out of the spectrum entirely. The US political mainstream is so blatantly slanted to the right it's downright ridiculous to the rest of the world at this point. Or at least it should be. Heck, far right in Europe from what I can tell would be your average "MODERATE" (what a joke) Republican in the US.

Also, I can't stand American politics anyways. It's a train wreck thanks to the right and the center being so divisive. Heck, even being a leftist these days will get you branded as a "commie." George Carlin and Jesse Ventura, quite reasonable people, have BOTH had this thrown at them. I kid you not.

Heck in Carlin's case, I'm pretty sure it was Bill Maher that accused him of that. You know, the "far left" guy according to the far right.

So true it hurts. When the most "extreme left" people in this country knows is Bernie Sanders you know this crap's gone off the deep end. Like I mentioned before, a lot of Democrat politicians only pay lipservice to some social stuff while voting almost identically to the republicans they "resist" on pretty much everything else. That's not even touching on the anti intellectualism / Anti Science movements that are growing at alarming rates in the U.S. If I had the cash I'd honestly move.

Republican. But do NOT get the wrong idea. I am COMPLETELY AND ENTIRELY well informed and not easily fooled like others are. I will patiently wait for the day I will finally be able to vote Red again, AND IT WON’T BE THIS NOVEMBER. Don’t try me on this

I completely get ya. I'm in the same boat right now, except on the democrat side with Biden. Like seriously, of all the candidates the Democrat party had to choose from they chose BIDEN? It's like they don't even WANT to beat Trump.

Republicans think I am a democrat. Democrats think I am a republican.

In all honesty I belong to neither side. I think each side is just as bad as the other, but in different ways. To use a tired phrase, Republicans are Red, Democrats are blue, neither one gives a shit about you.
