Seriously though, i knew that people where getting worried for no reason. We got our spike episode everybody and it looks like fun.

I heard some people on other sites asking why Spike would think Ember and Thorax wouldn't get along. Thorax and Ember are pretty different personality-wise. 

 

Spike was great last season, and the Lady Writers are the story editors now, so I’m cautiously optimistic for Triple Threat.

Admittedly this is a much better concept for a mid-season episode, and is actually quite intriguing. I was hoping for some interaction between different races, and it's nice to see Ember again.

Sounds like Thorax is going to have to try and become friends with Ember so as to avoid the dragons retaliating against the reformed Changelings for what they did back in To Where and Back Again under Chrysalis.

And if Spike acts as a middleman for brokering peace and friendship between the reformed Changelings and dragons, this will be an interesting episode.

I'm so upset that Little Strongheart isn't going to be in the episode. Isn't SHE one of Spike's friends? The friggin Canterlot crew from episode1 got to be in another episode, in a later season. Why the buck not LS?

I can see where Spike's fears are coming from. While, yes, both Ember and Thorax are relatively new in their roles as leaders of their respective races, personality-wise the two are almost complete opposites. Thorax is gentle, passive and almost as timid as he was before his metamorphosis. On the other hand, Ember, while not as aggressive as most dragons, is far more headstrong.

So we get to see the return of Ember this season.  Cool.  This episode already has my attention and it will be interesting to see how Thorax and Ember interact with one another.  Also man, a lot of episode synopsises have been released today's.

Thorax and Ember had whole episodes that revolved around or heavily involved their friendship. Little Strongheart got about as much interaction with Spike as Pony Joe did (one line), and wasn't established as having any more of a friendship with Spike than the other buffalo. Actually, she probably doesn't even have that close of a friendship with Spike compared to some of the other buffalo. The only line she ever had directed towards him was asking "Mr. Spike" if he liked gemstones, with calling him "Mr." being a formal way of addressing someone and not something a friend would do, while another buffalo addressed him a lot more casually and brohoofed him when Spike told them that Pinkie and Rainbow were with him.

I've been wanting an episode like this, this season! Even though I thought it would be the other way around: Thorax and Ember not getting along, and Spike does all they can to make sure they do, but this one sounds pretty cool! I'm gonna LOVE this one! I'm really glad Thorax's friendship with Spike wasn't forgotten about after they didn't interact in the season premiere! Also hopefully this won't be the only Spike episode of the season, but looking at the Changeling Can Change episode, it might be another episode for him, but probably shared with Starlight, since those two are in the best terms with the changelings!

For better or worse, I want to wait for the answer to reveal itself once the episode airs.

I got the feeling it's because there might've been a dragon/changeling war in the past, he wants to keep the peace.

We don't even know if the changelings even tried to impersonate Ember, though I imagine this episode might finally answer that question! To me its probably more like Pokémon where bugs and fire casters just don't get along with one another. =)

Well, this sure has a lot of potential for secondhand embarrassment. Can't say I'm looking forward to it. No amount of plot could save this if it's cringe-heavy. 

Maybe it'll make me like Ember a little bit, though.

Yunno, people worrying about this episode is gonna make me start to worry; even though I know this episode will be fine! After all, every episode up to Forever Filly has impressed me! The Lady Writers really know how to do their jobs, so they'll make sure this episode will make sense as well as be entertaining! 

Besides, this episode might give Spike a step-closer to fulfilling his destiny by starting yet another alliance! It depends though! Let's see how the rest of his episodes this season plays out if there's anymore for him after this!
