Windseeker 546 October 17, 2017 Share October 17, 2017 I feel like I would just start a fight saying this, but I left the furry fandom after a few solid years of fighting, ending with a huge clash that left me with a warped impression on them for years to come. Then I discovered I can appreciate anthropomorphic animals from afar and not have to associate with the community behind them.
RavenholmZombie 1,330 October 23, 2017 Share October 23, 2017 The Rick and Morty fandom: I still very much enjoy the show, but a lot of what's been happening recently (especially the Szechuan sauce fiasco and Pickle Rick memes) drove me away from the fandom. King of Canterlot 9,603 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 I left the furry fandom, a lot of the content creators started fighting among themselves, drama arose, and I felt like the community was broken into several different pieces. There was also a lot of hate from outsiders, and I just got really tired of dealing with it all the time. 2 RA RA RASPUTIN

Microsoft's last move, when they announced the Better Together update and rename all Minecraft version to just Minecraft, but the original Pc version became Java Edition. Princess Morning Rose 15 October 24, 2017 Share October 24, 2017 I left the anime fandom. There's just too many shows and none of them are as good as they used to be. It seems to me like the fan base has gone off the deep end. It's as if you're not welcome if you haven't seen every single show ever. I just watch a few oldies every once in a while now.
Fluttershutter 2,444 October 25, 2017 Share October 25, 2017 On 8/3/2017 at 9:54 PM, The Cynical Lone Wolf said: Star Wars mainly because of Disney putting the stop the EU or now "Legends" continuity. Which in my opinion, had better writing and characters then TFU. It also becuase of this decision and talking with a fan did I realize how far the Star Wars fandom has fallen since 2013/ Couldn't agree more! I'm still a fan and there's a lot I still have to read but I want nothing to do with the Disney stuff. It's incredibly hard explaining this to my family. Also Star Trek. The Abrams movies were horrible. That guy is such a hack! And there was no reason for an alternate universe. I've only seen the first episode of Discovery but I'm not encouraged at all.

Kings&Hooves14 616 October 26, 2017 Share October 26, 2017 Alvin and the Chipmunks; pretty much everyone I knew from that fandom seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. I used to be a member on a Zoo Tycoon forum called Zoo Admin. Website is dead. Game is dead. The Brony Code: Humans are a lie, there are only ponies. Through ponies, I gain friendship. IronM17 5,369 October 27, 2017 Share October 27, 2017 (edited) Technically, I left the brony fandom, but more the real life fandom in germany because of different personal reasons. I don't call myself brony, but I am often here online and make still vectors. But I don't go to meetups or conventions anymore. So, it is not a 100% left. A Fandom which I left to 100% is the Furry fandom because I lost my interest. I still like Furry Art, but I don't want to do anything with the people from this fandom. I also left the Sonic fandom. I only was a member because of the Archie Sonic Comics, but after the big change of that comic, I lost totally the interest into it. I guess these are also the only fandoms I was really a member of it. Edited October 27, 2017 by IronM17
Splashee 28,563 October 11, 2020 Share October 11, 2020 I have left many fandoms, such as the Sonic one. But I might return some day. I don't really leave. I am always around.

baba_booey 4,302 October 12, 2020 Share October 12, 2020 I'm not entirely sure if I have "left" any fandoms - I don't really get "too" involved with most fandoms I'm in and I think at the most I've taken breaks from certain fandoms (like the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom) for about a year before coming back. I will say thought that I'm not really as involved with the MLP fandom as much I used to be back between 2011 and 2015 or so. I don't really "label" myself as a brony these days and although I still enjoy watching the show from time to time I don't really talk about it much and have largely moved on to other things. Even in the case of this website I'm definitely not as active here as I used to be back in my first couple years here.
Megas 27,594 October 13, 2020 Share October 13, 2020 Smash Bros, still like to talk about it but I've been distancing myself from the fanbase as whole after it turned out most of the major tourney players turned out to be kid-diddlers

bubbleteapony 584 October 13, 2020 Share October 13, 2020 I guess I left the mlp fandom for a while? I don't necessarily refer to myself as a "fan" (though I technically am anyways) but I still make art of it and customize some of the toys. I won't be getting back into it whenever gen 5 rolls around but I think I'll stick with older generations' circles I def left fandoms like steven universe, I just couldn't stand the people in them and I just got tired of the show itself. I know it's not entirely the show creators' faults, but only releasing 5 episodes every several months and having 4 of them be fillers? Cmon banner by me! Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,392 October 13, 2020 Share October 13, 2020 I've basically left the Attack On Titan fandom for two simple reasons: It is ending after season 4 and season 3 pretty much ruined the show for me. What was one of my biggest passions ever at one point has been reduced to rubble. Season 3 took every possible ounce of magic and mystery out of the entire series.
Vefka 1,499 October 13, 2020 Share October 13, 2020 I'm passive in fandoms (except mlp), so I count liking something as being in fandom. I left FNAF because I got tired of it and I didn't quite like the way it was going (first games had something grounded, cozy in them, while following games felt different). And I left Bed 10, I was as big fan as I was brony in 2013, I really loved the show, I watched everything with Ben 10 (and that's where I found out about rule 34 existence)
AppleButt 8,675 October 13, 2020 Share October 13, 2020 I technically left this fandom in 2017, but came back this year. All personal reasons though. Ive been considering leaving the furry fandom as of late though. I dunno. Have just kinda lost interest, and don’t seem to be as good at making friends in the fandom, as I am here.
Will Guide 21,360 October 13, 2020 Share October 13, 2020 Not quite sure how to answer this topic clear and concisely, she'll give it my best shot Personally outsides these forums and Discord, I never really get too involved with other fans even in the stuff that I like. And I'm not much of an online gamer except for like visiting other people's islands on Animal Crossing for example. and only very rarely do I actually play a Super Smash Brother game against anybody online. I never really leave a fandom at least I don't leave with hatred or anger. I'm still a proud Disney fan even though I will admit there are some things within the company that are less than moral. and while there are some people on the internet who won't shut up about something just because a little reference to their fandom is brought up even if it wasn't meant to be a reference to their fandom (Example: FNAF anytime creepy looking or broken animatronics or brought up even when it has nothing to do with the franchise), I don't do the same thing. I suppose I "leave" a fandom when the show comes to a conclusion whether it be a grand finale or just fizzle out. Example: I've watched several Disney Channel shows good or bad but I do manage to watch the ending to these. I suppose the only fandom I left out of actual genuine anger would likely be the Nostalgia Critic being part of Channel Awesome especially after the infamous Channel Not-So-Awesome controversy. I try to stay with the Nostalgic Critic as much as possible but around the time the controversy was first brought to light, he started to review the live action Disney Remakes, even insulting one of the movies that generally got good praise by a majority of people (The Jungle Book 2016). Basically the Nostalgia Critic was starting to feel more like he was looking for excuses to hate on a movie even those that have its fans and comes off as being "if you don't hate this movie like I do, there's something wrong with you!" kind of attitude. Doug Walker who played The Nostalgia Critic character basically became the very thing he said he wouldn't do if he ever met somebody who actually like Garbage Pail kids back when he made a list in 2012 of the worst movies he reviewed. He started to get a lot of Disney facts wrong from when he was doing Disneycember every year to the point where I gave up even on those videos in 2019. I know he's not a Disney expert but can he at least stop spreading misinformation about some of the shows that could easily be figured out by simply doing a Google search? I know it his opinion but I really don't like him spreading misinformation to people who treat his word like the gospel truth and don't bother to do the research themselves. Bottom line: I lost all respect for Doug Walker and his character when he started acting like his opinion as the only one that mattered and especially not acknowledging the fact that several of the Disney Live Action remakes actually can and do have their own fans. No one, not even me, is saying that the live action remakes are better than the original animated versions. Other than Doug Walker and Channel Awesome I simply never left some of these fandoms or might have simply grown out of some other fandoms. Cyandashie 128 November 25, 2020 Share November 25, 2020 (edited) From 2009 to 2012, I was a big Sonic fan. I kinda just stopped caring for it probably the minute I became a brony. And now that I think about it, I feel kind of the same about being a brony. From 2012-2016, I was super invested in the show/fandom but after that it was on and off. I'm kind of on my "on" phase with the show at the moment so I wouldn't be surprised if after a week I didn't touch the show for another seven months. Prospekt 11,018 November 27, 2020 Share November 27, 2020 I was a Minecraft fan for a while, then it finally got to the point where I felt alienated because 3/4 of the fans were suddenly kids 10-15 years younger than me so fan content didn't really resonate anymore and the game itself just... didn't keep my interest anymore. But it's alright, the content creator who probably played the biggest role in getting me interested--YouTuber Paulsoaresjr--left at the same time I did and has only sporadically released Minecraft content for several years now.
