Have you ever had 2 characters from any kind of fiction that you ship together and were hoping they would become a couple someday but didn't end up happening or ended sinking for some reason?

 

(SPOILER ALERT IF YOU NEVER SEEN THE ENDING TO "BLEACH"!!!)

I was so disappointed that Ichigo Kurosaki never got with Rukia Kuchiki, and instead Ichigo with Orihime Inoue, and Rukia got with Renji Abarai. That made me very upset, since I was a Ichigo and Rukia shipper.

First you should start off complaining about Naruto...(wtf?) Second, I don't care much about couples, if it happens it happen.  But it cringed me how most shows now ended with everyone marrying each other...

No, I've never been that into shipping. Since Naruto was brought up, I'll say that after I read the ending to Naruto, I was surprised that many people were surprised that Naruto and Sasuke did not become a gay couple. ...No, I am not a homophobe, I'm bi, don't treat me like the Twitter mafia treat the creator of Tokyo Ghoul for not making Ken Kaneki gay, I just didn't see how that would pan out. How would you explain Boruto? Discounting incestuous and underage couples, I'm cool with all shippings, I just don't get super-attached to any of them in the shows I watch, really.

I've actually been more disappointed from ships with no chemistry, background or that had been sinked before ended up sailing out of nowhere.

- Sasuke & Sakura: a million times betraying and a million times forgiven... when Sakura had supposedly gotten over the psychopath.

- Ted & Robin: threw away the biggest development of the series (Barney's) to justify a shitty call that had been made a decade before.

- Aang and Katara: she always treated him and saw him as a younger brother. Now, this one I actually believe that could have happened because their love and care for each other was there all along, the thing is that her attraction towards him had never been shown on screen and it felt out of nowhere when it did.

Oh absolutely. I tend to pick out who I’d like to see get together whenever I start new anime’s or tv shows and if my ship that I feel has a big chance of happening doesn’t happen I get salty. Especially if I don’t like the other character. 
 

There have been times where they’ve ended up with a different people but I’ve grown to like that pairing.
 

Especially if the two characters got thrown together rather fast without much context to it. I watched a show off Netflix recently that did that. Like it felt rushed that they threw these two together after they’ve barely interacted like excuse me no.How and why? Who asked for this?  Luckily it looks like there will be a second season so they have a chance to fix that mess. Or at least make this random quickly thrown together pairing make sense thank you.

I already response but I actually do have some disappointment when it comes to ship

I was pretty upset that SW the rise of the Skywalker, did not have Rey end up with Finn.  There has been hints here and there that they do like each others throughout the movies but I just wish they could have hit a homerun. It's ridiculous that they would waste a scene of her sharing a kiss for kylo just for the sake of fan services. Which lead to a horrible toxic fanbase from the Reylos. 

Another one that I hope it will happen is Mikasa and Jean from AOT. If anyone deserve to be with Mikasa, it would be Jean.  Eren is pretty much a douchebag, always disgrading his friends including Mikasa because he's too focus on his own self-pities and anger. Then have the audacity to expect Mikasa to have feelings for him when he asked what he is to her.  Jean and Mikasa prob won't happen as it just one-sided. But man, I kinda wish Mikasa just give up her feeling for this psychopath Eren and noticed someone better like Jean. I get it she cares for Eren like a family but in romantic wise? No.  It's best for Eren to die for his crimes, honestly and not end up with anyone with being a scot-free happy ending. 

 

I don't care for shipping but if it's a shipping that involve with ending up with a toxic person, it's a no for me.

Not really lol. I mean I guess the closest was Bolin/Korra because I thought they were fun together. Ultimately she went with Asami but by that point anything was better than Makorra(ugh...)

And probably Flutterdash because their friendship was one of my favorite things in the early seasons but come S6( because of-fucking course it is)they fucking push FlutterCord hardcore to the point they actually try telling us Discord knows more about her than her which is honestly horseshit. Many will probably chalk this up to my usual bias against Discord in general but ultimately I didn’t like where things ended up

Simple small gestures like eye contact, hands on shoulders, and embraces always always ALWAYS a reason for people to  justify two characters flirting, when it could or should be used in the context of encouragement, reassurance or comfort during moments of distress or after seeing someone after a long time?

 

Deliberate distortion of friendly or professional relationships into SOLELY romantic, sexual ones?

Relationships that are founded on actions completely dissonant from each other?

Persistent infighting between groups for each ships that are seriously a headache?

I'm willing to tolerate relationships as long as they are LEGITIMATE. Repeat, LEGITIMATE. As in ACTUALLY confirmed, however so, either explicitly or subtly but clearly made, or at the very least sound and sensible, regardless of the final outcome.  Like official dating or married couples, or superior-subordinate or partner-partner or whatever.

 

And don't even think about using "It's imagination. Let people do whatever they want." Because this kind of thing is what already led to so much drama that made my BP skyrocket, along with many others who are so emotionally drained from it.
