general Do you write?

Generally I'd say forum posts and such count (I guess) but one's history of posting or social media doesn't amount to much of a cohesive storyline. That is, unless you can really read between the lines. Fan fiction also counts. The way I see it, "If you write, you're a writer." None of this "you gotta make money" gatekeeping malarky.

If you do write stuff, what have you written? What are you most proud of? Anything you want to share?

Unfortunately I get caught up in world building so I haven't put much of a story together, and I borrow a lot from history. Worst to all, the vast majority of it has remained in my head.

I've put some to paper or electrical device but haven't gotten very far. Mostly focused on head canons or alternative warring periods of equestria. I think I was going for a 6 part series that would follow different generations of pony soldiers from the same family line.

The first would see a civil war take place in Equestria with Luna defecting as NIghtmare Moon. I went with the perspective of the civilian populous being trapped between a rock and a hard place in who to root for as I made both princesses disconnected and just managing to keep society from collapsing, often through Brute force. The main character would be drafted to Luna's side, and made to participate in a gladiator terminate to decide who would be assigned work and who the real soldiers would be. Refusing to participate would result in a cruel death and I felt weird and stopped working on that one after vividly describing a poor soul being burnt alive. I tried that one again but in the form of journal that I would write in daily along with an illistration. I didn't keep it up because I wasn't always inspired so the story lacked in substance, and for the life of me I couldn't come up with character names!

Then I skipped to the final story which would take place in the future. Basically the Uber wealthy of Equestria were trying to take over and purposely pin the royal sisters against each other. A bunch of sci-fi programs were in progress, like mech suits and performance enhancing drugs for soldiers like our main character, but they had serious side effects. The nation was becoming militarized but also divided, and to make everything worse, the bad guys were working on an AI defense system which they would have control over, but it backfired and created this dead zone where anything within a huge chunk of the nation would be obliterated. There was one scene where Luna would be trapped in a building and have to fight off a stallion in an oversized mech which I enjoyed for its epicness, but I eventually become dissatisfied with key aspects to both stories and gave them up.

The latter I typed out the beginning in the notes of my old phone which was painfully slow with having to press keys multiple times for a single letter.

Otherwise I have the current convaluted story based on a role play that's been in the works for 6 years with little t know actual writing progress and I frequent these forums.

I write fanfiction once in a blue moon, but I’m not great at a few things that I want to improve before the next time I post something.

I had took writing classes and script writing class so yes I do. While I express myself through drawing, writing gives me more room to explore and express.

I enjoy writing long emails. With the right people and topics it will always be fun. :squee: But other than that, I don't like to write, since I find mere books or other texts super boring and it wouldn't make sense to write them myself - most of the time. Novels have this "fancy" way of writing, it feels unnatural and annoying, but almost all books are like this. My writing style is different, to my own taste of course. Or that most stories are written in past tense, but I want to experience it like it would happen right now! :) But I enjoy learning material, non-fiction books and the like.

Personally, I write when I plan to do more with it, no books.

I like to write. Everything from fanfiction, to original writings, to essays.

...Unfortunately I rarely have the emotional energy to write. I seem to do better when I don't have an explicit goal, though. ^-^;

I've written various things while I was in college and while I was out of college. Not much stories - more of essays, debates, and reviews.

Do I write? No I don't. I should write, I actually think I would be pretty good at it, writing fiction fantasy stories and whatnot. I just don't have enough motivation to write anything though, I think I could probably get started, but I would just lose the will to keep writing after a while. I greatly envy those who can pump-out several thousand-words fanfictions, like on FIMfiction. I actually have a whole MLP fanfiction in my head that I have all planned out, all sorts of characters and settings and the whole plot and conflict all stored in my head, but that's probably how it's going to stay, in my head. It will never become an actual story on paper.

I’m writing at least three things at the moment.

An MLP OC story called “Behind Him”, where the main character, Granite Rose, fights with his mental illness and struggles to keep it out of the life he really wants for himself:

A FNAF OC story that takes place right after the closing of Freddy Fazbear’s under the name “Travis Turtle’s”. The restaurant puts a huge emphasis on animatronic safety by making the machines almost indestructible and very difficult to get into for malicious purposes. Unfortunately, there is always a way to beat the system:

The last one is a focus on my own personal characters (there is no link because the story is not published yet). I won’t give too much away for this one, but in short, it is about a man who is forced to leave his group of friends due to toxic circumstances. Despite the anguish he feels, he still feels a strong need to obtain friendship. He promises to himself that not only will he vow to keep his friends, he will make sure nothing ever goes too far. No matter what extremes he has to go to, he will make friends.

I don't write in the "traditional" sense. I draw a symbolism like the key to unlock memories of a larger story, a greater idea. It is easier that way. So much information can be contained within a symbol. It becomes unintuitive to do it otherwise. Also, in case I return and need to remember my name. Names... I hate them.

Only for work, technical and marketing stuff. There were attempts to write some fiction, but I quickly realized that I have no talent for it, so I stopped.

Yes, I do! Currently I'm working on my own original superhero fiction, and in terms of fanfic projects, I'm currently revisiting an idea I attempted earlier this year: my take on the original Power Rangers, simply entitled MMPR.

I write, I love me a good story. I used to write loads of experimental fanfics and raunchy gag stories way back in the day, but lately, my writing has gotten more clean and traditional.
