Life can be hard at home and MLP FiM always, no matter what, brings me to my happy place, encourages me to be a better person, and tells me to keep chuggin along through life.

I used to want to blow up the earth. Since MLP I've changed so much. Now I want to blow up the earth- but afterwards go to Equestria.

I'm kidding. That was a joke.

But seriously, it makes a smile, genuinely, for a few seconds, until I go back to being depressed. I'll count that as a win.

You know if you Google "applejack" on google images only one result on the first page is the cereal? Everything else is Applejack(pony)

Plus, if you google "Applejacks", about one third is pictures of applejack made out of the cereal.

Nothing is impossible. You're just doing it wrong.

Remember kids, it's not illegal if you don't get caught.

It really helped me heal from some of my dark periods, introduced me to an amazing community of people, and contributed in helping me become more nice, friendly, and mature. Also really helped shape some of my principles and ideologies.

Started a peer support organization, motivated and learned to draw and write well, etc.

Doesn't seem "small" to me. :P

Prepare for a super long post! :D

  • Because of the show, I've discovered tons of new songs to enjoy (brony songs too). The music the fandom and show make bring so much joy, and if I didn't watch the show, I wouldn't know about these songs.
  • Sometimes when I'm at the store, I catch myself looking at the girls aisle, desperately looking for MLP stuff. I know I won't be able to get something, but it makes me happy when I see something MLP related.
  • I don't know if this is weird, but whenever I think of something pony related, I start smiling or giggling. Even at school
  • Because of the show, I've met so many wonderful people online and in real life. MLP YouTubers that make my day, artists, musicians, and even normal bronies. It's nice to have other people to talk to about something I love and know a lot about (MLP, of course).
  • Whenever I hear words like "pony" "rainbow" "twilight", guess what I think of? :P
  • I've started saying references, hoping to meet other bronies by doing so. I use "ten seconds flat" way more than I'm supposed to :P I also use "that's an academy record".
  • I've actually learned a ton of great lessons about life from this show.
  • MLP makes me realize the great qualities of friendship. At first I thought the whole "friendship is magic" thing was stupid. But I realized, friendship really is magic. Just think about it. How would your life be like if you didn't have your friends or family to support and comfort you. How would it affect your life?

Thanks, ponies. :3

Well, it's made me more conscious of and appreciative of apple products. At least, for a time I was getting my hands on all the apple pie and such that I could, with Applejack in mind. Could still use more apple...

Besides that, I'm not really sure. My generally laidback, I-don't-care-if-people-criticize attitude hasn't really changed much in the past 4 years. I've always tried to be kind to others, to be friendly; I suppose part of MLP's draw was that it matches my life views rather well. I'm an optimist, if anything.

Immediate Edit: Oh, but saying "eeyup" is a thing I picked up pretty quickly and have never dropped. And, naturally, the occasional quote in general, with or without context. Also, most of my music library is pony-related music, and so much of it makes me smile.

I've started to automatically use pony-words. They're burned onto the side of my brain and I can't really say the normal word unless I think before I talk, which is rarely do.

Of course, this is only a small portion. MLP and the fandom has affected my ways in many large ways.

I don't really think these things are "small," in fact they are moderate to large changes.

Firstly, I used to be a diehard Conservative Republican (and yah, basically I was the stereotypical kind of that).  Now, I'm a Libertarian; I have Liberal social views, and Conservative fiscal views.

Secondly, I've just become more open-minded in general.

Lastly, and this is indirect, not caused by the show at all, but rather it's something I allowed myself to realize through socializing in the forums; I used to be totally straight, though I don't think I was really ever completely sure about it, I forced myself to think that way.  But now, I've realized I'm actually bi.  The first and second changes above aided in helping me allow myself to realize this.  The open-minded change allowed me to stop shoving certain thoughts into the dark.

The only bad thing is, I'm still in the closet (in real life) about being bi.  That's mostly due to the fact that my parents, and most of my family, and most of my irl friends, etc... And just in general the small country-town society that I live in... are quite conservative, as well as many (like my parents) are very traditional-thinkers.  And that transfers to religion as well.  I am a Christian, but I'm contemporary; my parents are traditional, and I've indirectly brought up the subject via a political discussion with my parents before (never at all hinting about myself, though)... Unfortunately the things my parents said... smh... they just don't see things like they should.

So I guess for now, and I will just have to keep it hidden irl.  Yah, it's a shame to have to hide it... But I, and he as well... well, we are just not ready to face the negative antics of our societies - of our parents/family/friends/etc...

All in all, I feel very fortunate to have found ponies; to have become a brony.  The show, the fandom, and the forums have all affected my life positively.  It's not that it just filled a void, no; it's that it became a part of me and made me a better person.

It's made me a more cynical person. The brony fandom has actually made me hate the many idiots who inhabit it, and every fandom with a passion. Not saying that every brony or person in a fandom is a moron, but some pretty cringeworthy shit happens daily.

Another thing that mlp does is help me socialise more and to be more kind to others and not to be a jerk.

I won't bother with what forums for games I have enjoyed but it's certainly not welcoming when you only have 2 people by your side then they abandon you. I kept being called a re**** or really re****** or a f***** or any mean names like that. This community is more polite and I feel so much more welcomed and see new characters of people and not feel rejected and actually feel like I am being loved like my mum and dad do, and to give love back to :). Thank The Lord that this community exists

I think it changed my view on how I perceive "girly" things. While I never really looked at that such things as awful or stupid (other than when I was a young boy), I've started to look at something feminine or female-focused and think: "This looks cool".

I also think I'm more tolerant of bright colors, and I'm starting to like purple more.
