Alright, a couple nights ago, I had this dream.  (WARNING: VERY VERY VERY LONG)  I spent a whole hour from waking up to finishing it to write it completely down.  Amazed that I could remember so much of it.  Anyways, to those who are not lazy enough to tl;dr, enjoy.  (Also note: Humanized, but contains several pony references)

I used to have nightmares when I was 6-7-8 but now I have extremely realistic dreams that contain the sort of thing that could actually happen in real life. Sometimes I wake up and need to take a few minutes to review what actually happened yesterday.

My dreams are more and more frequently lucid, or at least controlled, when I wake up early in the morning and go back to sleep.

I think it's a consequence of all that daydreaming I do pretty much all day, when I'm not watching something or playing a game.

Anyone else can relate to this? Having more or fewer interesting dreams, because they spend respectively more or less wake time in fantasy worlds?

Hmm.

I rearely have dreams and most of the time they are about something crashing into Earth...but not last night.

I remember my mom somehow gaining access to all the data that goes through our internet connection and she found out about me being a brony. She was disappointed and angry at the same time. When I got to my computer I somehow realized that she found out so I slammed the door but she came in and she was shouting horrible things right into my face. Then I woke up and I was really happy to know it wasn't real.

My dreams usually take place in my fantasies, worlds that I've made up in my writing or they can just be totally random like having a  giant that looks like it's been drawn by a five-year old chasing me down the street with a chainsaw. THAT or I get nightmares that usually has some unknown force hunting me down and trying to slaughter me.

Anyway, my dreams are starting to feel more and more... casual.

No matter how strange or disturbing things would be IRL, I consider them perfectly normal until I wake up. And sometimes, the events are expectable even in the real world.

An example of the former would be a suspense-horror dream I had a few nights ago.

My parents, sister and I, hitched a ride somewhere, with our bicycles. But the driver got pissed for some reason, or the car was sabotaged, so he dropped us at the highway and we continued on foot with our bikes.

Only, a taxi slowed down while passing us and we were shot at. So we jumped on our bikes and somehow went as fast as a car.

This is where it gets from weird to horrible, so be warned.

An example of the latter would be last night.

I was on the family's Mac, looking for something I forgot, and found a couple of links that I liked very much. A picture that had been hard to find, so I pasted the link in a new document (that I didn't save but left open) with a caption; and then, an article. Soon as I found the second link though, my mother needed the computer urgently, so I got up without having had the time to paste the second link and save the document.

When she was done, she just closed everything, which made me lose the two links. Let me tell you, that was ridiculously out of character for her, but in my dream, I was just pissed at the loss of the picture's link (the article was easier to find).

So I picked up my netbook (on which I'm typing right now) and went to the bathroom, which was not our CURRENT apartment's, but that of my very first home in Istanbul. I sat on the water closet and switched the computer on. I was waiting for it to fully boot when I woke up.

I've been having more dreams lately but I thought this one deserved recounting, I was in a University building and I was doing some stuff with enrolling when I suddenly found myself in another building (i often have sudden unexpected scene changes in my dreams) with a group of really nice guys who were Bronies. We played poker (I won of course)  and they liked me and wanted me to join their club but first they said I had to be a pony for the initiation, so they started cutting my hair and making me over and then I was a pony. It was one of the weirdest dreams that I've ever had, but not as strange as the one with the aliens and the mind control water balloons I had a year ago.

  • 3 weeks later...

I don't remember dreams usually but this one is sticking out more then usual.

Me and my friends were chatting in the parking lot near my house and the land my home was built on use to be a marsh called 'Frog Hollow' so it's uneven in some spots with hills. Anyway down from the parking lot a spiral blue rift of energy appears and is spiraling..til speeds up and like a motorcycle reving up comes right at me! I roll out of the way as it sweeps by then theres a loud 'BAM' like a firework going off..I remember hearing car alarms but everybodys voice being distorted.

Well, the weirdest dream I've ever had involve incredibly weird sexual desires, so I wouldn't consider that weird xD

But a weird dream I've had would be when I was six. I remember being in a sunflower field, and a demented Dora the explorer in a raincoat came up to me and released a bunch of bees onto the sunflowers, which promptly stung me. Then everything went fuzzy, and suddenly I was in a green-black forest with the characters from Ed, Edd n Eddy. Then I woke up, that's all I remember, lolz. Weirdest dream ever, left me in tears.

I usually read the Necronomicon before I go to sleep, so I frequently have strange dreams of hideous creatures ripping people apart.

Most of my strange dreams involve violence and vivid gore :3

My dreams often are weird.

Usually it's psychedelic stuff, but occasionally I'll have an entire adventure. Like filly Dash looking for people, or (in 1st person) my human self flying across the ocean and battling a giant.

I've talked about them all in these two dream threads.

And speaking of, considering the posts being made, I think this topic could be merged with the latter.

I had another weird one today..It was an average day at work when me and my co-work are doing our rounds together. There was music playing in the background I can't remember what it was and my co-worker disappeared for some reason..then my shift supervisor/field support shows up asking me where my co-worker went and thats when I woke up. I kept thinking this as I remembered though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GocUWSjt050

The other night, I was dreaming about driving on a twisty road over a huge chasm and, predictably, tipped over the edge.  What made the dream memorable, however, was the feeling of absolute certainty that I was about to die as I fell.  I have been in scenarios like that before in dreams, but this was the first one in which I realized the full implications of death.  I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of complete resignation that came over me right before I hit the ground and woke up.

On a slightly more lighthearted note, I've noticed another disturbingly common trend in my dreams: having more than one penis.  I won't get into too many details, but it's amazing the way the mind can create memories of living with something your whole life if you begin to question it in dreams.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

You should becareful of that dying in dreams thing. It's been proven that it can actually kill you. The brain is tricked into thinkg your dead and thus tells the organs to close down.

With all due respect, I'll need a source before I can believe this.  I highly doubt that your brain could let something so common and uncontrollable kill you.  Even if it could, how could they possibly know what someone was dreaming about before they died?

As a performer, when I have shows coming up I get really terrible stress dreams that some part of a performance has changed or I have to learn new lines or things get messed up during/right before a show. My most recent one was over a show that won't happen until May that I am choreographing a dance for. I dreamt it was the day of the show and my dance group was going on in 20 minutes. The piece isn't even half choreographed and I haven't taught any of it to my dancers. So throughout the dream I was desperately trying to teach and create the dance along with getting costumes and music set up.

I have had a couple dreams where I was a secret agent and I had to chase people down or solve some big mystery. I remember in one of them I was chasing after a man and he jumped out of the 20th story of a building through the roof of another building and I jumped down after him, went through the roof, hit the ground, felt no pain, got right back up and kept chasing him.

I have never dreamt about ponies. I wish I would though.

…yay…

I often get dreams where I have god powers. Flight, of course; but also sometimes stealth (invisibility and inaudibility) that I can choose to (de)activate at will. I still have to avoid contact though, since I can't become intangible.

Happened last night, where I was in a supermarket or mall of sorts.

At first, I just walked around and looked at all the merchandise. Then I caught a glimpse of some kind of chest where I (somehow) knew they were putting their money. I wanted that money for some reason, so I entered a corridor where I "switched off" my visibility and sound.

Not sure wat happened afterwards, but I think I got caught. LMAO

I've read about it in an encyclopaedia of sorts, a cluster of information (from history to science, and even a few recipes) by Bernard Werber. Not actually about dreams, but the effect of self-suggestion on a person's physical body.

An article described how a man stuck in the cold room of a cargo ship froze to death, carving a detailed log of his slow icy agony (finger numbness, frostbite...) day after day, that was discovered upon arrival at the dock. Thing is, since the ship was returning from a delivery, its holds were empty and the freezing mechanism switched off all the time.

Lemme find it if I can, transcribe the article, and find more info on it.

EDIT: warning, this is pretty dark.

There's the opposite too, something called the "inner fire", that can protect Buddhist monks against freezing cold temperatures. Their final initiation rite, is to go outside (in the mountain) wearing nothing but a soaking wet robe or cloak, then dry it off by using their inner fire only.

You can look up inner fire rites if you want.

I had some pretty nice dreams. In one dream, I met Rainbow Dash and Rarity, and RD gave me a pep talk. In a dream I had just last night, I dreamed I met an old pet (wasn't really an old pet, but at the time I thought she was) in anthro/faerie form and she thanked me for taking care of her and gave me something to remember her by.
