For any of you who care, I FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY got my Metagross (that I've had since Ruby was new) to level 100 in SoulSilver.

He knows Stealth Rock, Meteor Mash, Bullet Punch, and Explosion. He has an Adamant nature and I gave him an Occa berry.

 

You don't understand how monumental this is to me. Metagross has and will always be my favorite Pokemon, and he's literally been like an old friend to me. Since my childhood man.

This has to be my least favorite pokemon, as im TERRIFIED of moths.

 

I have LOTS of favorite Pokemon. But I would have to say the one I love most is Caterpie, so he's my favorite Pokemon. Weird thing is I hate Caterpillars too. But just look how cute he is!

Other favorites include Flaaffy, Charizard, Charmander, the whole Oshawott line, Braviary, Rufflet, and more I cant remember right now.

 

Heres how I feel about the regions:

Kanto: Awesome! Even though not all the pokemon were good (Jynx D:) Most of them were! And when they WERE good, they were usually awesome. And all the starters were adorable (and cool at the same time)

Johto: Equally awesome! There were more Pokemon I liked in Johto, but they werent as awesome as Kanto's usually. The games, I think were the best and still are! I love the towns! And all the starters were great!

Hoenn: Heres where I think Pokemon got bad. Some pokemon are cool, but most of them I didnt like or hated. The starters were meh. The first line of them were ok cute but I didnt love their evos usually. There were good ones though! (I love flygon!)

Sinnoh: Noooo, this isnt even Pokemon to me. This is by far the worst pokemon has ever been. Almost all pokemon I hated (and not just because they were new) Really, really few pokemon I actually liked (Piplup is pretty cute and the Shinx line is awesome.) The Tv show got AW-FUL here. Not even watchable awful. Of course this is just my opinion though.

Unova: Got much, much better here in my opinion. Not as good as kanto or johto defininely but wayy better then sinnoh! Their are lots of pokemon that actually made my favorite list. There are lots of really lame pokemon but the ones that were good were actually really good at times. (Braviary, Dewott, Samurott etc.) The starters were cute too!

 

So it goes: kanto/Johto, Unova, Hoenn, Sinnoh

So what's everyone's favorite type(s)? Mine's gotta be Dark, and the best Dark types were introduced in B/W imo, like Scrafty(best Dark type), Hydreigon, and Zoroark.

 

Dark is my favourite type too, it just has all the really cool pokemon like Houndoom, Tyranitar, Sharpedo, Hydreigon and so on.

 

Anyway I just got Black 2 on Saturday and my brother got White 2. We've been playing it a ton, I'm at Nimbasa City currently, here's my team:

Ok guys, update on my progress:

 

I ended up using that team I posted in my previous post. Got them all to Lv. 64, then proceeded to steamroll the postgame, with all ending up around Lv. 79. Douse and Chill Drives obtained (but more importantly, Douse Drive obtained), and I caught Reshiram in a classy Premier Ball. The first one I got was Rash with, at most, 11 / 30 / 12 / 21 / 31 / 21, which is solid enough for a mixed Sub set, something like Substitute | Dragon Pulse | Blue Flare | Outrage or some variant thereof. I only caught it because of the ludicrously high catch rate, though, so I'm still planning on filling up more of the 'Dex before SRing for other legendaries.

 

My 'Dex progress is coming along nicely, as I've gone through most areas, both pre- and post-E4 accessible, and started evolving some stuff. I'll start the trading process pretty soon, which should ramp up the caught number to something like 175. After all evolution options are exhausted, breeding shall begin. I'm not looking forward to registering things like Swoobat and Budew, things that I can't bypass by catching in the wild. I'd have to go out of my way to ramp up happiness and breed a Roselia/rade holding a Rose Incense, respectively. At least Crobat appears 5% in the shaking grass in the Dreamyard.

 

When all that is done, though, it's stationary legend time. I'll have two spare Master Balls, and the list of legends is as follows:

 

-Kyurem (probably Timid max SAtk max Spe, because both normal and White Kyurem like it)

-Heatran (SDef? something else? I already have a Timid one)

-Latias (probably Timid max HP max Spe)

-Cresselia (I don't even know)

-Azelf (Nasty Plot probably)

-Mesprit (no idea)

-Uxie (something defensive, maybe Screens)

-Regirock (there are so many things to do with this)

-Regice (Registeel too, if I can access the Iron Key) (Ice: maybe Rock Polish, Steel: what do)

-if Steel, Regigigas (oh boy, here we go)

-Terrakion (Jolly max Atk max Spe, no doubt)

-Virizion (not sure if CM or SD here)

-Cobalion (the mixed Ebelt set looks sexy, but I'd have to drop HP Ice)

 

Any advice on which ones I should Master Ball (i.e. hardest to actually catch in-battle)? Additionally, could I have help deciding what to do with some of them? Regirock, especially, could go so many directions: Gravity, SDef w/ Curse in sandstorm, bulky attacker, etc.

 

After all that, I can finally get to cool stuff like Pokestar Studios, Join Avenue, and the PWT with a clear mind. There's just so much to do, and I love it

I have played all "main" PKM games since Red and still can get the best of me when I go from here to there battling and wining medals to become the ultimate POKÉMON MASTA. But I'm not the a big fan of the catch em all stuff. In fact I have always train the same team and watch how they have develop from version to version (mostly with rage). So as soon as I can I get this new team with a save file I have on my PC with my PKM on low lvls, 20 at tops and this is my team.

I seem to have a looooooong story when it comes to Pokemon, but I'm not planning on writing a huge tl;dr about it. Because I'm lazy. xD

 

Played the games since I was 8, first game was red, and favorite Pokemon is Meganium. I have a ton of Pokemon that are considered as my favorites, but Meganium, alongside my favorite legendary, Articuno, are my favorites.

 

I've become accustomed to the 5th generation, as I pretty much memorized most of the Pokemon, and played through White. I've yet to get BW2 though because I lack a DS.

I bought Pokemon White 2 a few days ago (yeah, I'm late) and I just beat the Mistralton gym. It was pretty easy, and my Pokemon took it on no sweat. My team is Samurott, Growlithe, Ampharos, and Zoruoark. Still searching for the other two for my team!

 

One question: When I beat the game, I want to have my Pokemon from my old Pokemon White save file to be in my Pokemon White 2 game. Is this possible, or will I have to trade between games?

To me Oshawott is my favorite so far out of them all. When I got Pokemon Black I picked him as my starter Pokemon and he never let me down. But really Oshawott was a very good Pokemon for me, and usually won me most of the battle I went in that had him in it. I used him the entire game, and that's why he's my favorite Pokemon to me.

Both; it's possible, but you'll have to trade between games.

 

I remembered that I caught some Synchronize Pokemon with good natures on White 1, so I traded those over and Synchro'd a Jolly Terrakion, Timid Virizion, and Timid Latias. I didn't have a Naive Synchro Elgyem or Munna, so Cobalion is on hold for now. All that remains unseen in the Unova Pokedex are Cobalion, Shuppet, Tepig, and maybe one more (Blitzle?), so that shiny Haxorus is nearly within reach. My Join Avenue isn't a high enough level to get a Nursery, though, so eggs will have to be hatched the old-fashioned way.

 

Regarding legendaries, I really like how Terrakion can do everything it's good at (Band, Scarf, SD, RP, Sub) with only one Nature and EV spread. No such luck with most of the others, however. I chose CM Virizion over SD because I didn't want Scald burns screwing me over; it's a shame that CM Virizion really wants Hidden Power, though. Instead, I'm thinking CM/Giga Drain/Focus Blast/Reflect could work. Maybe Taunt, too. Cobalion is a bit stranger, since I really want some physical moves and Volt Switch. I also want to preserve its great Defense and capitalize on that base 108 Speed, so Naive max Speed it is, with offensive EVs split somehow. Latias can either go with an offensive Recover & 3 attacks set (arguably done better by Latios) or a fast, bulky CM set. CM/Recover/Dragon Pulse is set in stone, with the last slot being flexible (perhaps Sub, Refresh, Psyshock, Surf, etc.). I'll worry about the others later (perhaps much later, since I got Assassin's Creed III and MGS: Snake Eater 3D on Black Friday).

I plan to do a runthrough of Pokemon Leaf Reborn, which is a LeafGreen hack. I might go to start now or a little later, I really want to be able to jump back into the Pokemon training bandwagon.

You could teach your golduck ice beam, I know you can't get the TM until later, but i'd be willing to help you with that. You can trade me and i'll teach it and trade back. As for an ice pokemon there are a few good ones. Glaceon is pretty good though it's really slow. But it's special attack stat is on the same level as kyurem. you can get but not until after the game. although i'd be willing to trade and evolve and then trade back. Beartic is pretty good, although it's also really slow.

I know i absolutely love it they added so much.  especially join avenue because of the dojo which allows for EV training of pokemon without going through the hassle of  actually training them! I spent a ton of money on ev training  it was kind of embarassing how much i spent lol.

 

 

To answer the other half of it my favorite pokemon is umbreon  he always ends up on my team and this go around on white i'm using him to cause massive pain lol his move set ? Toxic, payback, moonlight and protect.

I recently got back into Pokemon, beat the league in Pokemon Red and Emerald in a few days just to get used to playing again. So yeah, I started up my copy of White 2 which I got a while back but never really played, and I just arrived in Castelia.

 

For some reason I find leveling really difficult in W2 compared to previous games. I feel there aren't really any wild Pokemon that give enough exp for them to realistically bring your party to a level that can beat the local gym.

 

At the moment my team is as follows:

 

 

Lvl 21   Lvl 16 Lvl 13   Lvl 17   Lvl 9 Lvl 9

 

Purrloin and Azurill are placeholders, going to be replacing them with two HM slaves once I get them. They'll probably be Tropius, Linoone, Bibarel or Gyarados. I'll probably keep Growlithe and Magnemite since they're solid Pokemon, but I'll need to get a grass type to replace Patrat (which is why he's underleveled).

 

Anyways, does anyone know what level I should get my team to do the gym, and where should I level? The sewer Pokemon barely give any exp at all. Obviously gonna focus on getting Growlithe up there since he'll do well against Burgh's bug types.

 

Wild Audino are always an option.  The highest-level ones you have access to can be found in Castelia Garden, which can be entered from the sewers by that staircase near the entrance.  Run around until a patch of grass starts shaking (it usually takes about 30 seconds for me), then step in it for a 90% chance of encountering Audino.

 

If you're looking for a Grass-type, Petilil can be found in Castelia Garden as well, and I've heard it's really good.  I used Roserade, which can be caught as Roselia in Lostlorn Forest.

 

Burgh's highest level Pokemon is a Lv. 24 Leavanny, but Growlithe should do fine against it even around Lv. 21, especially if it has Intimidate.  Good luck!
