Hoping season 4 is longer?

season 3 seems to be alot more shorter only being 13 episodes in next season they should have 50 episodes at least so that they can make up for season 3 who else agrees with me

Not gonna happen. Fifty bucks says that they're sticking with the thirteen episode formula. The cast have less work, and each episode -idealistically- has more quality put into it to make it more re-watchable and memorable.

Making up for the third season, by the first two's standards, would require 13 more episodes on top of another 26 for the fourth season.  That's 39 episodes. Even that is wayyy too many episodes in one season.

 

My money's on another 13-episode season.

Nah i think that's way too much. Even the original 26 episodes seem a bit much so i think its way more comfortable with the 13 episode formula they're doing now. It's more comfortable with the staff if they have less work so then we can expect much more quality in the newer episodes and if you ask me i'd prefer that actually.Quality over quantity  as we've learned in "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000".

I think it will be 13 episodes but I think it will start sooner.  Though, I remember the seasons poem in which he said that there will be many seasons of different lengths.

I really do hope Season 4 is longer but, it depends if the writers decide to write more episodes. I don't think Season 4 will be wrong because, of this season's amount of episodes.

I personally would like 26 episodes next season. The more the merrier I say. Not that I would complain if it was just 13 again, but whatevs, all we can do as fans is wait and see really.

Hasbro stated the reason for season 3 being half as long as the other two is that it's already very well established. They said, and I'm inclined to agree, that a lot of kids are content to watch reruns, and they therefore can get away with making shorter seasons following a positive reception and satisfactory merchandise sales. The 13 episode model lets them introduce enough new content to hold their audience and literally set the stage for new merchandise, but saves them a lot of money.

I do love the 26 episodes, but I have heard Hub say that they're sticking with 13 episodes so they can get them out faster. I really don't think they're going to do a 50 episode season, as much as I want them to.

I wouldn't really mind. If you're a Metalcoalypse fan, you know that a ten episode season 4, consisting of ten minute long episodes, isn't that bad. Or maybe that's just me. Anyways, it looks like the Hub is just trying to economize their episode output. It takes a lot of money to put out just one episode, but high quality costs money. They won't let us down, I know that.

I actually reckon Season 4 will be twenty episodes. Makes sense, it satisfies those who didn't like the small amount of episodes in Season 3, but they can still stay true to their marketing plan. Plus, 20 is a nice number. n.n

I hope so, but I'll be fine with whatever they give us. Thirteen episodes is a lot easier on the staff, but the original 26 was a great amount of fresh content.

I'm actually kind of hoping for another shorter season.

 

My main worry with FiM is that, at some point, the writers will "run out" of possible episodes; they've already covered a lot of the "bases" which kids' shows can focus on.  If they have fewer episodes, then the episodes will--hopefully--be higher quality, and they can keep production down to just the "best" concepts.

 

(That said, I would in no way be disappointed by a longer pony season, of course .)

I don't mind the quantity of episodes in each season. As long as they are memorable and teaches us a good lesson, then I'm down with that.

 

But if we are having 13 episodes again, and the quality is poor, then you can forget me waiting another 6 months for that.

I don't mind having the 13 episode seasons. One advantage I find with this is that the quality of the show is better (in my opinion) and that this may work in the next season.

It also puts less strees in the writers and gives them time to make the episodes great.

I don't think they are going to make 50 episodes. That just seems like to many. I do hope that they go back to making 26 episodes. Just so there is more to do for each character.

I cannot think of any show off the top of my head that has had a 50 episode season, even 26 episodes is a bit longer than seasons for most shows. To put things in perspective a seasons of the Simpsons which is another show known for longer seasons averages 22 episodes per season. One thing I hope comes out of the shorter seasons is that it gives them an opportunity to really flesh things out a bit more because as good as this show is there is the occasional episode that I found a bit lacking.

I'm hoping that they would get at least more than 15 episodes in a season, because every episode always has something to talk about, like new songs, characters, villains and more CMC episodes! That's giving us even more fuel for the fandom making remixes, fan art and fan-fic.

50 episodes in a season would leave a total of 2 weeks in the year where we don't have ponies, unless they started showing multiple new episodes per week.  While either option seems awesome, I don't see that happening.  If it did, I would be afraid of a massive quality drop.  Let them stick to the number that they can work with and still produce quality.

They made season 3 shorter because they now have 61 episodes in stock that they can just rerun because its cheaper to just use reruns then it is to produce a new episode and since there are less episodes to make aparently they will be able to spend more time on eatch episode to produce better quality overall. That is the actual reason its shorter and the reason season 4 onwards will also be short.
