Am I the only person that hates parties?

At family parties I just talk to family that I don't see often. No one really minds my awkwardness; as for non-family parties, as in, normal parties, I usually don't go to them. Not for any reason other than the fact that my friends will probably be drinking a lot of alcohol, and some of my friends are jerks when they're drunk.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of parties, probably due to the social anxiety I seem to have, I would like to enjoy parties more, but I just don't, also I hate being forced to go to things like that.

I have yet to go to an actual party like the one you described. They sound fun for the most part. Usually after I've been to something really fun, I'm always let down. So I'd say the day after a party is what you should hate.

I enjoy getting together with people I like, but I'm not so keen on doing so in a loud and chaotic environment.  So I guess I don't really like parties.  Particularly when there's alcohol involved.  I'm in that minority that avoids alcohol, and I don't really like being around drunk people.

Then again, I suppose parties are okay though, as long as there's somewhere that I can retreat to to be alone in silence for a period of time.  Rampant socialization is really exhausting for me.

Well that sucks.. I for one love parties, the music is good, the cake tastes great 90% of the time, and its nice to spend time with good friend and get really drunk and just sit around and chat about BS.

I really cant see how any pony hates parties... I really cant see it.

I'm sure if I ever went to a big party with people I actually like it would be fun, but most of the parties I've been to were with a bunch of people from my school and I felt really anxious the whole time.

Absolutely not. I hate parties as well, and I guess it only naturally follows that I also highly dislike Pinkie Pie.
I hate hyperactive people, party animals, needlessly excessive drinking, socializing, and pounding techno music.
I'm fine with small-time, family events and such, though.

Not fond of them myself. Most large parties I've been to were attended by people who brought a friend or several with them. Rather than talking to new people or being receptive to new people who approach them, they grab some food and drink and talk among themselves, doing their best to ignore strangers that speak to them or even walking away when some do. So people like me who arrive alone or would like to meet new people and possibly become friends are left hanging out alone, with little to nothing to do. I can stay at home and get that without feeling like I've been insulted.

Small gatherings of friends/acquaintances up to about 15 people is what I'm most comfortable with. Brony meetups are how I typically go to such events. We go do something fun together, wander about, have some dinner, and leave feeling like our lives were somewhat enriched for growing closer to one another. To me that's of more worth than the temporary thrill of going to a party with flashing lights, ear-splitting music, booze and cheap hors d'oeuvres, and inconsiderate people laughing constantly at nothing.

I used to like parties, I still probably would like a pinkie pie party...

Parties eventually stopped meaning "close group of friends get together, give gifts, have fun and eat cake" and turned into a boozeup disguised as a large gathering with ridiculously loud music. I don't drink, my ears can't take loud music and I don't care for talking to people I don't know. Needless to say, I don't go to parties.

If one of my best friends was having a friend gathering to watch some bad movies, sure id go. One of these large scale gatherings? Heck no...

I am pretty much the same, except I like family parties. I just don't like college parties and club parties and all that. I hate dancing, I don't drink, I hate socializing, there is never anything for me to do. If I'm dragged to a party as a DD, I usually pray that the person has a cat I can play with the whole time XD And if no cat is found, I usually sit by myself and eat whatever snacks are available. And as far as birthday parties go, I don't really like sweets all that much so no cake for me :P

Although I don't frequent them as much as I did earlier in high school, namely because I'm too busy with all my classes and applying to college, I still enjoy a good party now and again. And for me, a "party" can encompass any number of things. It could be anything from six of your friends up at a cabin having a campfire, and just sitting around, drinking, and talking. Or it could be dozens of people at a house and loud music. Both are enjoyable in different ways, and I certainly enjoy both. Parties are very fun and a great way to socialize if you don't lose your head and go overboard.

I can't stand parties for the life of me. I'm always forced into going to birthday parties and such only to go sit in the corner and fiddle with an electronic or book in my hands. I'm a rather introverted person so talking to people ins't something I usually want to do. Everyone is always so loud and such that it annoys me even more. I'd rather be sitting at home alone than hanging out with people I don't want to interact with.

I don't eat or anything there so there's really no point in me going at all. I only speak when there's a topic I feel strongly about and a good majority of the time, no one is saying anything I care about so I just sit in a corner, alone and silent while minding my own business. People also like to try and force conversations with me and when I just stare at them emotionless and quietly, they eventually lose interest and move on to someone else. I also have the tendency to be insulted by someone at parties, so yeah...I despise parties, to be truthful.

I despise parties. I hate parties so much that they are in my top 10 things I hate list. Nothing good about them, ever. First of all, they are nothing but a huge waste of my time. Second, if you aren't cool or worth being around, you are not allowed to go. Third, no one will want to hang with you if they don't like you. Which is everyone. Fourth, I hate people as it is, and there are a bunch of people at parties. Fifth, nothing but jerks and obnoxious idiots.

I am just very uncomfortable when at parties and just wish to leave.

This is also why I'm like Fluttershy, because I see quite a bit of myself in her. I'm introverted, quiet, don't like loud noises(they in fact startle me) I'm not a fan of parties.  Especially one with a bunch of strangers. I've been to a few furry meetups with a bunch of people, but they're not really parties as there's no music or dancing, and I know 75% of the people that go to them. I'm a quiet person, I prefer being by myself doing my own thing. I can't stand super loud music either in an atmosphere filled with other people.Which also means I don't like to dance either. I Get pretty anxious and uncomfortable at parties and/or dances.I usually end up just sitting  in the corner/same spot the entire time eating the free food and such....

My mom is actually hosting a Christmas party for her work on Thursday....I'll just be sitting up here in my room most the time, only coming down for food.

TL:DR: I don't like parties.

Well when it's a small party with just a few friends, everyone knows each other and we just hang out and play games, I'm totally into it. Parties where people show up with a bag of cocane, nobody knows anyone, and music is blasting so loud you can hear yourself screaming, quite awful. It depends on what kind of party, but I don't hate all parties.

Two words... Parties suck.

I am a massive introvert so the obligation to socialize doesn't really apply to me. I mean really, what are you supposed to do at a party that doesn't involve making a total idiot of yourself? Here is usually how parties go for me:

Find out where the eats are coming from, intercept them, stash them.

Don't even get me started on that piece of cardboard sometimes referred to as "cake". Whenever I refuse it, the host guilt-trips me and makes me feel so horrible that I eat the cake anyways and end up with stomach flu. So much for being nice...

So you can probably guess how I feel about parties.

Depends... Do you mean like a party or a PARTY PARTY??? i don't party hard. i like to party soft with those i care about.

I'm a socially awkward, shy introvert, but i don't mind parties if i'm around are people i'm comfortable talking to. My friends are just as nerdy and socially awkward as i am, so i fit right in. I rarely go out....at all. Parties are one instance where i do get a change of pace. Your mileage may vary, but the parties i always go to are typically pretty chill. With friends, we just get together, joke around, and maybe watch movies or play games. Around my family, its usually a chill house party. Music playing in the background, lots of relatives. They drink and converse with each other, while I get together with cousins and we all basically do the same thing i do with my friends. I like hanging with my cousins. I don't go to parties with strangers, THAT would make me very uncomfortable. I don't get drunk or do drugs, or get up and dance. I just like to talk and enjoy the scene for a bit.

At the risk of sounding like a big fatty, i'll admit i also like parties cause there's always a ton of food :P

When it comes to cake, i've got a weakness for ice cream cake (especially oreo), layered cakes with different fillings or fruit on top, whipped cream icing cakes (strawberry cake with whipped strawberry icing is the best thing ever), and tres leches cake with fruit on top. Homemade box-mix cakes with a small layer of simple frosting are also pretty delicious. I absolutely abhor that general kind of cake icing that is heavily loaded with corn syrup and food coloring (if its staining your teeth, its bad icing). if that's what people eat at your parties i don't blame you for hating cake. I know what kind of cake you're talking about, and that's the worst kind to get. Try lighter, more frothy icing. Make your own cake, or buy a completely different type of cake. I don't know about your local supermarket, but mine has a ridiculously huge awesome variety of different cakes.

But seriously... I dislike parties that don't involve my friends. Usually when I get to a party, it ends up me standing in a corner waiting until someone I know shows up.

I like some parties and dislike others.  School or house parties I don't care for because either there is nobody I know there or there are people that I know, but I don't want to talk to. I have the most fun at parties with people I don't know because I can act completely different from my queit, shy self that all my friends know me for and I can be the more outgoing, crazy, loud person that no one knows.

Sorry, Pinkie, but I'm not too big a fan of parties either! The only ones I can really handle are ones where it's more like a big get-together of friends than a party. We'll play games, watch movies, and such together, but not parties with big wild dancing and obnoxiously loud music. So I guess the parties I like are more like a big bunch of friends hanging out together at a friend's place? Kinda like the parties where there's only the Mane 6 (and occasionally Spike) there.

It's easier for me to break out of my shy, quiet shell into my crazy, laughing self when I'm surrounded by friends and people I know.

Though I wouldn't mind attending a party full of people who share my interests, even if I don't know most of them. Might be easier to make some new friends!

If I weren't so shy I might consider throwing a Brony party, find all the bronies in my school and friend all of them...

I don't mind parties, just the type of party.

Another thing for me is I've no tolerance for alcohol and loud music, 2 crucial parts of most adult parties. So i'd just be stood there sober with a headache XD.
