Should I rejoin the herd?

So, I quit being a brony in November of 2012. I just couldn't wrap my head around the appeal of the show. I don't know if much has happened since then, but Iv'e felt the need to rejoin this delightful little subculture as of recent. Is the fanbase still insane? Is the show still cute and prettyful? Where has it gone? Are the fans still making fanworks? Do people still even like this show?

The fandom is pretty nice so far. The only thing i can tell you without spoiling it to much, would be to get ready for something a little different than what the earlier times of the fandom could offer you...

I know that feeling. Back in 2012 (between seasons 2 and 3) I was unsure if I wanted to jump back to the fandom because I had lost interest. My friend did give me a chance to leave, but what really dragged me back was not only him, but the awesomeness the ponies still had, as well as the community as a whole. I stayed because of the community, and I wouldn't find a fandom similar to this one, because everyone is just simply amazing. <3

 

I (or anyone here) don't want to push you to come back. It's entirely up to you and you have the final saying. Try watching the previous episodes again (any episode, your choice) and see if that could peak your interest in returning once again. Like I said, it's your choice. 

 

I will say, however, that most fanart and fanfictions nowadays are really good.

While the fandom remains largely the same (As far as I'm aware, having only joined it last November), the canon that it wraps its fanon and head-canon around has changed drastically. I won't say much more, for obvious reasons, but we'd love to have you back!

You don't have to be artistic to join a fandom of such... I admire it for the show itself, for the people in the fandom. Just give it a try again, and you'll know for sure if you want to get back or not... Simple as that...

hello and my answer is yes the fandom is still very much alive and thriving!

oh yeah and theres a *mffmfifmf* you should know about. i highly suggest watching the first (2) episodes and last episode of season 3 just so you can catch up and know what's going on.

you may or may not like what you see, but regardless of your opinion just remember that we ALL know that feel. not all of us liked it, but we are still here anyway because of the community. the brony community is still insane, like a roller coaster of feels. very good things happen, then not-so-good things happen. atleast things are always new and interesting. if you like the sound of that, then you should give it a chance!

anyway, even if you don't like it, no harm done and atleast you gave it a shot

Yeah it hasn't changed too much. There's likely too much fan music now with less of it sounding remarkable to the early stuff but the visual art that's coming out is just as amazing as it always was if not better.

 

We may have more whiners now than before on the directions the show is going but that won't be a real problem for you if you're playing catch up. Yeah this show has a pretty massive fanbase overall.

So, yes, we are still special and the show is excellent. Though, you might want to drop out with the change at the end of S3, But seriously  trudge on. It won't change the show and opens a lot of opportunities for episodes.

Well, there's still some overly cocky "rubitinyourfacebecauseiloveandtolerateandyouraparaspritebrahyourstupidUH" bronies lurking around, and I didn't like season 3 *cough* crystal empire*cough* as much as the others, but the show's not doing that bad. The forums are still a great place to hang out, as long as you don't hang out in the "what do you think about clopping" and "fighting is magic, is the world gonna end now?" threads. Christ, so many naive annoying arguments being placed there, it's like playing COD with a headset.

Well, from what I can tell you the show is still as picturesque and beautiful as it was back in S1. The fan base is huge actually and is still surprisingly growing at a rapid rate. As with any fandom you will have your standard, weirdos, obsessors, and whatever else included but I have to say; most bronies are pretty normal by any standard. The fan art and fanfiction as of today is amazing and new stuff is put out just about every day. Sure, there is some controversy around the end of S3 but in the end the decision is all yours pal. We always welcome a member back and wish you nothing but the best with your stay =]

Well the fandom seems to be doing great in my opinion.

Sure there were some weird moments in the fandom, but we manage to pull through.

I say come back. People still like the show an it seems as though things are going to get ether in my opinion. Artwork Is still being made and I see no signs of deterioration.

In the end however the choice is up to you.

THEY ARE DEVELOPING FAN MADE EPISODES RIGHT NOW. COMPLETELY ANIMATED FAN MADE EPISODES. That should tell you enough.

 

I for one consider season 3 the best one of MLP. If you like Rainbow Dash and Applejack (which I do), you will definitely like Season 3.
