music Psy's new song: Gentleman

So! It has been one day since PSY released his music video for "Gentleman" on youtube, and as of right now it has earned 39,457,944 views. I checked roughly 8 hours ago, and it was at 22mil. This is blowing up FAST.

So, what are your opinions on it?

Personally, I love it. Catchy chorus, funny video, and the way the ponytails sway in sync is just about the coolest thing I've seen in a music video for quite some time.

Not bad! A little to repetitive for my taste, though Obviously I can't understand a word of Korean, but I was getting a little tired of Gangnam Style at last, even though I really liked that song for a long time.

1. I like it, not a Gangnam Style but catchy.

 

2. He is trying to make another Gangnam Syle, and it looks that way. Psy's never going to get another billion views on on of his videos again, but I still like him.

Pretty repetitive, but I liked it nonetheless. I would have liked to see PSY get a little more karma back at him at the end of the music video, but that's just me.

 

Also, you have to think of how long it took to film that. Imagine how many times those girls had to get flung into that pool!

I saw this several hours ago, back when it had it's 22-25mil mark. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was very amusing to watch. I loved the music, and the choreography was awesome.

I love how he comes up with those.

 

Also! I can hear where everyone else is coming from when they compare it to Gangnam Style, which only makes sense. Even in this video, he pays homage to that song (by the way, LOVED the reappearance of the yellow tuxedo guy). I have a feeling this song will be very popular, become almost a meme, and then everyone will get sick of it.

 

But for now, I can't get enough.

Well what I can say that I don't like about this is that it sounds exactly like Gangnam Style. Now I usually wouldn't care too much about stuff sounding similar, but honestly if I didn't like Gangnam Style then why would I like the song that has a similarity to it.

The first one was alright. (I'm referring to Gangnam Style) It was fun to do with friends and be stupid with. I never thought it was a good song on any level, and this one goes straight back with it.

 

Also, this one is called "Gentleman" and he goes around being a, excuse my language, dick to women. I really think that this one just sets a bad example for kids. As if there wasn't enough media showing people being rude and glorifying it. (Jersey Shore, alot of Disney shows, Toddlers & Tiaras, etc.)

 

Oh well, everyone's going to forget about it in about a week or so.

I like the song. And I don't mind that it repeats itself quite much.

 

The music video is fucking hilarious, but the thing I don't like about it is that he's making one of those signature dances again.

Well I don't have a problem with the dance itself, it's just that he does it in the exact same way as in Gangnam Style, a bunch of people doing the exact same dance. It would be cooler if they filmed the dance in different angles with just maybe 2 or 3 people.

 

But yeah it's better than expected.

 

btw if you listen to the song you will hear it is built up in the exact same way as gangnam style, just with another tune

Indeed. It's very amusing to read.  

I have to disagree with those who see a negative side in the song, such as influence. It's making fun of the scenario, and thus should  be treated lightly. It's a happy song, for the entertainment of others. It shouldn't be of any worry to anybody just what bad tones lie underneath in the view of few others.

 

It's a fun tune.

I agree, this song is very inappropriate and PSY really took it too far in this one. Gangnam Style is better than this one. This one is a sets bad examples.

While Gangnam Style made me want to blow my brains out every time I heard it, this was just boring. I can defiantly see that Psy's trying to make another Gangnam Style. I really hate it when certain 1-Hit-Wonders do that.

this is one of those songs when I first react like "the fuck is this?", then after a couple of tries listening to it again "it's love! it's love!, I love this song *.*"

 

pretty much happened to me with Gangnam Style, though GS is catchier IMO. The video was hilarious, Psy will be pretty much the new Lady Gaga x)

 

...and props to him, he is completely unatractive, but he has more sex-appeal and confidence than a room full of bodybuilders haha!

My first thought was maybe he let all that fame go to his head. But I bet there is a huge message behind the song. kind of catchy. I just wish I could understand Korean!

Yea so I listened to about a fourth of it, after that I couldn't take it anymore. I just found it annoying. To be honest, I don't like Gangam Style either and this song is no better.
