I may be a straight guy but I feel like chiming in anyway, I think it depends on the guy some can pull it off some can't and I am one the guys that can't pull it off but my Dad pulled it off very well. And judging by the answers I have seen some of the ladies like it some don't I guess it is just a matter of personal preference.

not really. i like my beard and 'stache, and couldn't see myself without it. and hell, people around me like it as well. i suppose it depends on how well you take care of your facial hair. it might be a less attractive sight if the facial hair is just a giant croll of blargleness, but if it's neatly positioned and clean, it can enhance the look of someone a lot.

I'm of the opinion as a guy that beard can be very beautiful IF they don't look like some caveman beard if you know what I mean. If you take care of it trim it and keep it clean in general it's very nice. 

I've been experimenting with beard types of late and found some nice looks.

Personally, I just think it looks cool and can make a person's face stand out moreso than someone without it. Plus there's all kinds of different ways to style it, just like regular ol' head-hair.

Some dudes definitely wouldn't look right without some either I think, I mean that in terms of coolness rather than attractiveness since I'm a straight man though. Women with facial hair though... gross. Overall on guys where it's supposed to be though it's usually attractive I think.

It depends on the man. Some guys look horrid without facial hair, and some look absolutely stupid with it. It accentuates faces depending on their features and what sort of hair texture they have. For instance, one of my ex-boyfriends had facial hair which I overglorified and worshipped... and my current one? I demand he shave it immediately due to its unpleasant texture and the fact that it looks scraggy and stupid. He agrees.

....in all seriousness, in attempting to speak from the perspective of a women, I guess it just really depends. Some men pull it off way better than others and vice versa. We all have different facial structures, symmetries, etc. So it really varies. 

 

 

I'm actually growing a little-medium sized stubble, but I can't really tell if it suits me or not. Mostly because a lot of the people I know in real life never really comment on my looks, regardless of whether I shave or just grow it out; that and they don't really seem to give a crap. 

 

I guess, from judging it myself, it looks fine.  Then again, I'll just have to see what my future spouse will think!   lol

I think it all depends on the person. Some people look better with it, and some better without it. It can be a nice feature, but it can also be annoying. Didn't Brad Pitt use to have some sort of weird, stringy beard? I didn't care for that much. I much prefer good old Hagrid beard, it's so manly!

As a heterosexual male, beards depend on the person. Some people can pull off the ZZ top/wizard beards very well (Though I can't see myself really adopting one.), some people can pull off goatees well (Robert Downey Jr.? Hell yes. Stephen Fry? Hmmmm...), some people pull off stubble well (Hugh Laurie!), and...on all counts, some people don't.

 

I, personally, dislike shaving. My face feels naked without a beard. That being said, if a lady wants me to shave, or I have to go to a special occasion (Sorry, but I do honestly feel that a large beard does make you look somewhat scruffy and you shouldn't have one for a nice occasion, unless you can tie it well.), then I do shave it off. I also DO keep my beard trimmed (I'm rocking a Billy Goats Gruff at the moment) and unlike a thicket, cause I do think a beard can get too thick.

 

Also, when people bring up age: Totally agree. I was actually cultivating facial hair since 15, but I could easily pass off for a 21 year old (and did) because of it. So I can see why some ladies would hate that.

I think soul patches, or a bit of scruffyness is kinda cute pedo mustaches or full blown beards are gross though.

 

You guys can't complain about shaving though. After all, most guys wouldn't date a girl with hairy legs or armpits. Facial hair on the guy is a matter of preference, some girls like it while some don't.

I think that it depends on the person, some people wear it well like Robert Downy Jr. But for the most part it isn't really attractive, so again depends on the person. For me personally facial hair doesn't do much for me, so I shave.

 

I think women should definitely not have facial hair.

I think beards are rather attractive if they're groomed well and maintained. There are of course a few types of styling I don't like (particularly the popular "trim to near invisibility") and I'm weirded out by moustaches in general. Moustaches to me mostly look incomplete without anything accompanying it.

I didn't find men all that much attractive in the first place.  Beyond that, I guess it really depends on the guy, if I found a man's facial hair to be gross.  Some guys look rather nice with certain styles of facial hair.  While some guys look good with a grizzly beard, some men look terrible with one.  Different faces look good/bad with different facial hair types and all that...

It really depends on the person, and how it's done. I typically prefer clean shaven, but some guys do look very attractive with a little bit a facial hair, and I do mean a little bit.
