Parents telling little girls to NOT watch MLP?

Petition is already locked :)

Nothing to worry about that. I tell ya, some parents are just taking us bronies way to seriously. It's just sad how far people can go to try to end our fandom.

lawl, I knew that was gonna happen.

Good riddance too...

I'm just laughing at how silly most people are by thinking they're doing the world a great justice by focusing all their efforts in ending this fandom instead of focusing on the real world problems at hand like world hunger, poverty, corruption, etc.

Shows how much common sense some people really have...

"These bronies twist the cartoon in ways to suit themselves and their disturbing desires...Such as making violent or pornographic pictures or videos featuring the characters"

Hay Parents better not let your kids watch any TV at all then because you will find pornographic pics and vids of just about anything these days. Remember Bambi pretty sure you can find porn of that somewhere as well.

Wait, what?!

How in the hay do bronies ruin the show?

Magic!

Petition is locked and only got 66 signatures.  Spoilers: that isn't going to be enough.  The mods at change.org just took one look at that petition and said, "this is the dumbest thing every put on our site".  Considering there's a petition to make the Xbox One revert to restrictive DRM nonsense, that's saying a lot.

you know, those women who think bronies will rape their children or try convert a whole website at the drop of a hat are very wrong ! those uninformed mothers are purposely try to bring us down with the bad side that every fandom has!  i regretfully followed the link:. the first two are cupcakes HD and shed.mov which are bloody and gory+swearing but those are not for kids(like @@Blue Moon said "YouTube isn't a kids website). the second two are extremely biased articles and the fifth and sixth ones are pornographic. these mothers are uninformed and biased and should instead of showing hate and teaching their children not normal is a sin, teach children to love and tolerate even if the're not bronies

I'm more worried about the children of these parents than anything else about this. With parents that prone to getting stressed, it's not hard for me to see the children developing problems like attention deficit and anxiety. This is one example of certain traits that get passed down from one generation to the next that do not necessarily have any genetic predisposition.

Seeing as these parents are incapable of rational thinking, I doubt they would want to hear about how I came to that conclusion and the sources I had in mind.

While I laugh at the sheer stupidity of this person, I shall point some things out.

First off, there are people in the fandom who are like what he/she described in the petition. Are they the majority? No. The 'parent' who put this up tries claiming that he/she knew that on the surface bronies seem good, but deep down they are rape-y pedophiles.

... Wat? I think it's sad that anybody with a closed mind will take something that's out of the norm, which promotes loving and tolerating, and instantly think that it's a bad thing. He/She wants to take all MLP things off the web, even though the vast majority of it isn't NFSW or violent at all.

I'm also disgusted by the way he/she wanted to end the cartoon. So, because of an 'evil following' on the internet, you're going to try and cancel a show to stop children watching a TV show teaching them about 'The magic of friendship'? What?

This person is grasping at straws to try and get 'evidence' on the fact that bronies are 'changing' the show, even going as far to post this:

"A genuine screen-cap from the cartoon itself with a clearly visible Swastika (Nazi symbol) in it. Coincidence?: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/854/nazipony.jpg/"

nazipony.jpg

...Really? I'm sure that the writers of the show put that in the maze because bronies told them to, and I'm sure that it is promoting the murdering of Jews and other groups. People like them make me sick.

I think it is sad that we have to live in a day in age where people can't just enjoy what they want to enjoy with out someone else ruining it. That and the fact people cannot live their own lives happy without some kind of judgement or given a hard time about it.

In general people seriously need to stop making matters that are not really serious and blowing them out of proportions.

This^

The way I see it, those parents are just typing "Dark Side of the Brony Fandom" in their search bar just so they can have what they think is something to use against us...

That or they're finding the most popular stuff and using that...

Either way, it's stupid, pointless, and an utter waste of time when they COULD BE doing something more productive by getting out more and MAYBE EVEN being BETTER PARENTS!!!

Holy moly, how hard can that be?!?

haha, holy crap! That supposed "evidence" nearly made me laugh myself to tears! This is like someone spotting a branch shaped like a pentagram or something, its totally ridiculous! And I'm willing to bet that half of these people are not even parents in the first place! Besides, if they want safety for thier kids, dont let them on youtube, its not exactly the most kid friendly place on the web.

Let's see, parents trying to tell little girls not to watch a harmless kids show?

tumblr_m1guuzCsZB1rripibo1_500.gif

Well, I am not surprised at all. Since, parents are usually known for taking precious things away from children we all knew that soccer moms from all across the globe would be shaking their fists protesting about a show like My Little Pony even if it's doing no harm.

Parents in general are not exactly known for their hyper intelligence. A lot of them just like hurting ponies if it gives them a sense of power. They love to take things away from others. I wonder how they treat their own foals.

Honestly, I would really rather not think about that. I've seen what most, so-to-speak "parents" are capable of. I find it rather appalling/scary that most of them are able to get away with physical abuse and violence just by acting innocent...

this is just a rather obscure look at the senseless crowd.

To be honest, I find this rather silly more than anything

Well shit.

I really can't believe that parents are just simply assuming that we're such awful people when we're one of the most friendliest fandoms on the internet.

If they didn't know any better, there's this one rule on the internet that's called Rule 34, which could easily make every single cartoon out there unwatchable for little girls!

It sickens me that such parents exist. As much as I support you protecting your sons and daughters from NSFW content, this is definitely not the way to go. Attacking a single fandom isn't going to change anything except an angry mob chasing your plot down with a pitchfork.

That is exactly what all of this crap is... silly nonsensical complaining and a load of BS. I swear people need to get their heads checked...

And no this show is not going anywhere for those thinking by complaining to Hasbro or something along those lines. xD the fandom won't let that happen in a heartbeat. So no worries there its just these "parents"  >_> ..... need to get a life and a brain as well.

"Protecting them" From what? A bunch of nice people in a fandom family?

This ERKES me.

This is a family of people who LOVE My Little Pony not a disgusting group of people.

And anyway, My Little Pony is one of the only TV shows out there that doesn't promote anything gross and is full on awesome! :3

Just had to point that out.

Wow. That's just really sad. I mean, they are quite right in ways, we can't deny that, but they're wrong for assuming that all bronies act that way or are into nsfw things

Also, The way a few of us responded to it also proves him right just a tad. Just saiyan.

And I swear if anyone calls me out for my damn avatar. Shut yer mouth, Louanne(s)! XD

Nvm the obvious fact that's not even a swastika, but the symbol some buddhist or shaolin monks wear on their forehead. Nazis took it off of them. The more you know.....

But this is not the first time I have heard something like this. Its really aggravating when people start overreacting over something like this. I mean I understand having concern for your kids and all rightfully so but at the same time don't just automatically assume on a hitch everyone in this fandom are what they are portraying us to be...

Hello, could someone please direct me to the place where they have some stupidity? Or am I already here? Yup, I'm here alright.

Why! MLP is a great show, most bronies are contributing to it, not stopping the intended audience from watching the show.

I see a good reason why parents think bronies are ruining the show.

When little kids go to google images and search up "princess celestia" they could easily run into something like "princess molestia". If I were a parent the last thing I would want my kid to see is that.

But honestly, "removing the bronies from the internet" is pretty stupid. You can't stop people from liking stuff they want to like, and there's a good reason to dislike bronies from the parents' point of view, but that's really unrealistic to just "wipe them away" from history.

Twilight agrees with you. But still, searching up virtually anything on the Internet will bring up their equivalent of Princess Molestia.

The only solution to that problem is disallowing children from the Internet, which some parents won't do.

Ive been around to see a good chunk of the assumptions and grouping of everyone into one because of that one creepy person, but since this is not the first and most certainly wont be the last time, theres no real need go get bothered by it. Show you're bothered by it in the wrong way and it'll probably just fuel more assumptions, which, will in turn bother you again and the cycle repeats itself.

While this does make me quite mad and astonished at their idiocy, this is sadly not the only thing like this I've seen.

The FOX News Mass Effect fiasco, Skids and Mudflap from Transformers, Derpygate, Jar Jar Binks, and most recently, SheZow, this type of "controversy" is all too common in our society.

Soccer parents will be Soccer parents, I'm afraid. I do hope there is a day when this all ends.
