Do You Like the Opening Sequence of the Show?

Well when I was first watching the series I'd always skip the intro if I was on YouTube. But watching it a couple of times on the Hub, I winded up becoming very fond of the opening. I even know the lyrics by heart now.

I will say it is the most "girliest" part of the show, but I also find the song to be very catchy.

 

So what are your opinions on the opening intro?

Just like you, i watched it on youtube since The Hub wont work for me.

But yeah, i allways skipped the intro, but now when i rewatch them i watch every intro

Pretty much like you guys said, It's girly but boy does it grow on you rather quickly. Given the option however I tend to skip the intro to get to the show.

Like the rest of you, I didn't particularly like the opening theme when i first started watching My Little Pony. I saw the intro twice, when I saw the first two episodes. But after that, each time the Intro came on, I simply opened up another tab til it was finished (I generally do not like skipping things ). It was a slow transition, but eventually I found myself mouthing the words as the song played through. And eventually, I stopped opening up another tab, and actually watched the intro as it played. After listening to it twenty or so times, I found that I enjoyed it, and now find myself singing it often while driving to and from work/college. And now record myself singing it while singing while driving for your pleasure. (For those who have not heard, and are interested, click Here)

 

So to answer your question; Yes, I do very much enjoy the opening of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I pretty much skip the intro every time I can, but it has grown on me. Especially the Season 2 version. I prefer that. If I feel lazy, I don't skip it. However, it's hard to shake off my dislike of the MLP theme song. Horrendous commercials from previous generations have drilled an intense hatred into my head of it.

Haha, yeah the "My Little Pony" parts. Reminds me of the toy my younger sis had when I was a kid. It was a carousel and you press a button on it to make it spin, and it starts playing a simple version of the original MLP theme. Heard that thing I don't know how many times. Now look at me, playing it on my guitar

It's girly as all get out, and I love it.

 

Initially I didn't. When I first started watching, I had to skip past it myself, because the first two bars of "My Little Pony...My Little Pony..." drove me absolutely NUTS since it reminded me of the vapidity of the older shows and the insulting stupidity of the toy commercials, stuff I never wanted to be reminded of.

 

However, over my initial binge I soon learned to tolerate it, then enjoy it, and then love it. Heck, for some reason at the screenings I go to other people even sing the song while it plays, and I sing right along with them. It's fun!

Well, I feel like slowly gained love for the opening sequence is a pretty common thing. What about the Season 1 opening sequence vs the one in Season 2?

 

I personally like the one from season 1 better. Even though the one in season 2 has Derpy and the CMC, it also has that silly train, and as far as I know NO CARROT TOP like with the season 1 opening. Also, I really prefer the sound of the theme song in the season 1 intro.

We had a teacher swapped once and the new one told us to choose something to watch during the class and two girls wanted MLP. The teacher agreed and we started watching the first episode and in the very beginning people were a bit interested but when the opening started everyone seemed to be kind of disgusted and they didn't want to watch it anymore and we watched some other film. Sooo - for me it's okay because I'm already into MLP but it makes people new to it decide not to watch

The intro is perfect for us bronies.

 

It starts out with the classic girly theme song, then turns into a kind-of rock-style song.

This is perfect for what it was originally pointed towards: Kids and their parents.

I'll admit I hated it when I first saw it. I watched it in the first episode then just skipped it every other time. Now I can't get enough of it, I usually sing along too!

 

I can see why it might give non-bronies a bad impression, if someone has a big problem with it being girly it might turn them off altogether.

I like the intro. I think it's catchy and, without shame, cute. I rarely if ever skip the opening whenever I watch an episode.
