This seems like quite a come-and-go topic, but hey. It depends on how much background noise I have. I normally only crank my iPod up to full when I get a lot of it, like on a train. If I'm listening to music in bed at night, it'll be lower down because I can never sleep with full-on volume.

Well I for one always have my volume on max, though I only have it full when I have music on, I can't stand when game sound affects are that loud.

I do use earbuds when I listen to music and I do know that it could be harmful to my hearing but so far I've never had any problems, so if you could excuse me I have a 2 hour dubstep mix waiting for me

50-60% constantly.

It's low enough for me that I can still tell if someone is trying to get my attention, but high enough for me to actually enjoy my music without busting me ears. If the sound is too low, all the music does is become filler in the background and almost makes me tired when an exciting song is being played at such low volumes.

Somewhere around fourty to fifty percent. Sometimes even less. I have a very sensitive hearing. Too loud sounds cause massive pain.

One of the reasons why I never go to discos or clubs.

And aside from that, it is proven that it is unhealthy to set music too loud, especially on headphones.

Who the heck would listen to their music at 100%? Do they want their ears damaged?

I listen to my music to 35-40%. When there is music in the car and it's loud, I put it on 55-70%.

With my MP3/iPod I play it at 80% since it's just not loud enough at 50%. On my laptop I have it at 50-60% since you ask for a MP3/iPod then it's at 80%.

I use both ear buds and over ear headphones, my hearing is excellent. I am one of those people that hears the tiniest sounds. So yeah, 80%.

Always listen to music for at least 14 hours since I listen to music at work too and also at school and at home. So I listen to a lot of music, although I usually try keeping my music at around 50%. I mostly listen to very loud music, like dubstep and etc. My head sometimes feels weird and my heartbeat too but it's fun. I don't know I guess I listen to music for at least 7 hours every day. So yeah, my ears don't hurt.

i usually set my phone on highest volume, and i have also a volume booster app wich i run every time.

so i guess you could say i turn mine up to about 150% :3

i like my beats loud

and i listen about 5-6 hours a day minimum. so i think i might be deaf when i hit my 40s

Well I don't really like to use MP3s or headphones to listen at music. I prefer speakers.

Anyways, when I do, I usually put around 40% cause I dont want to hurt my ears and I want to hear stuff around me

Depends on the headset I'm wearing for the most part (I listen to my music via the laptop), but I usually have the volume up to about 51-60% or so. I used to have the volume up to the max all the time though, which unknowingly resulted in a bit of a small hearing problem for me (I think anyways). My right ear started to have a faint ringing sound, and even at max I couldn't hear too well, it felt like the volume was down to about 3/4.

Of course, I eventually realized this and toned it down to the 51-60% mark, which seems to have reversed those effects and is working quite well for me so far. :)

Every now and then though, when I'm listening to some serious wubs I'll crank it up to max for a few seconds, just for fun. :P

It really depends on what I'm doing at the time. For example, right now I'm just browsing so I have my sound around 30% Though if I'm cruising on the interstate I'll have my sound at 100%

I never put it up so loud that it's rocking my ear drums (because I'm afraid of hearing loss) but sometimes I turn it up past 41-50 but usually it's 21-30. Plus sometimes I listen to HOURS of music so it's best to not turn it up that loud. ;)

Well it depends to what music I'm listening to because some music I have are louder than others.

And for listening to music either when I go to sleep or for about a hour sometimes.

Ah not to high, its to the point were I can hear the song but its not so loud the guy next to me can hear "Smile!". As to why so many ponies set it so high I still don't know, sure the song is really good! but come on now just because it's louder doesn't mean its going to sounds better... maybe I'm wrong.

to me it isn't because i think the song starts to get better.

i set my music to max everytime because the higher the volume, the more energy i seem to be getting from the song.

i listen to music for roughly 7-8 hours everyday, and i would probably get very depressed without it, and the energy i get from music keeps me away from that depression.

i dunno if that applies to other people, but that's my reason for putting it up so loud

ON my Ipod I go to around 80-90%.  I don't want to hear things around me so I turn it up quite loud,  I don't usually listen to music through headphones for longer then 30-45 minutes at a time.  i have very good hearing, but I just like to have it loud.

I try to keep the volume at a reasonable level as I worry about damaging my ears: my current MP3 player app doesn't have a numbered level on it like my last one that played everything too loud. So I can't give an number and vote in the poll really, I just keep it at a level that's not loud but not too quiet either

On my mp3, about 95%.

In the car, I'm always bumping bass and stuff, so I go about 65% in my car. The speakers can hold up well, but I'm saving up to get some subs.

No, but I would rather hear the song then the person next to me sometimes. Like right now with my younger brother is non-stop talking.

I don't have an MP3 player - the primary device that I use to listen to music is my desktop computer. I usually listen to music at 15, the maximum being 100, which would make it at 15% volume. Depending on my mood, I might listen to only a few songs, or I might listen to music for hours on end.

When I know that I won't be listening to music for a long time, sometimes I'll turn it up higher to 25%, but I generally avoid raising it higher than 15% if I know that I'm going to be listening for awhile.
