I... really like... the animation style?... But from what I can see in the preview, it seems to be going back to G3 standards of ponies. I'd completely lose faith in Hasbro if they took three steps backward like that.

Oh that, I think of it as our show getting so popular that it spawms cheap knockoffs of it. Like how when Pokemon came out there was a bunch of those or how when Muppet Babies came out and suddenly a bunch of kid  versions  of famous cartoons came out.

Oh sweet salty Celestia, what in the name of Lauren Faust was that. This can't be G5, if I was drunk id probably connect this to G3. And could you really blame me. But, hasbro isn't stupid, hopefully, and they wouldn't risk loosing a potential money well like G4. Unless they plan on doing this seperate from G4, then I say "god speed ya mad devils".

I might actually have to watch this, the 3D work is really pretty damn good and looks like it might have a decent sense of humor judging by the couple of scenes it showed.

 

For something that I assume it a semi-budget job it actually doesn't looks that bad at all. 

 

Also, some of you calling that animation bad have no idea what bad animation work is, it at least it had fairly decent modeling that's appealing to look at it, here's a sample of bad:

I was on board for the animation for about 2-3 seconds.

and than they started talking.

Thankfully its not the future of our beloved pony.

 

This is nothing more then another company trying to cash in on the pony product.

 

Although the CGI isnt that bad, but rarely do CGI TV shows make it.

 

The story looks cheep and cheezy adding again to the dumbing down of our youths.

 

And voice acting sounds horrible to me.

 

The only plus (and a small one at that) is that it seems to have a few male main characters (although one looks to be a Rainbow Dash wanna be.) It does look like its making a (lame) attempt to balance gender roles.

 

Who knows. Time will tell. But it won't replace what we have in this fandom.

 

But its now out there so you already know two more things on it... some one has already started a cross fic ship and it will be R34ed in less then a week.

Yeah, that looks more like Strawberry Shortcake. I would not like it if G5 was that. Well, as long as the rest of G4 isn't like that, I guess it's cool.

Hey, looks like exactly what it is. A KID'S SHOW. A girl's kid show, nonetheless.

 

If they vary the color schemes and have a good plot it will go far. And besides, it's not a knockoff- it's a revival/move to America/Britain. But, honestly, that trailer gave me way too much pink to want anything to do with it. If I get caught watching that, I'm history.

Hasbro would be foolish to return to the previous generations since a large portion of the fanbase are the bronies and hell bronies buy the Hasbro toys even, because they admire the show and having a fanbase like the bronies is truly something special, they would be foolish to throw away what they have. It wouldn't be the best adaptation of Gen 5 but from a design standpoint its not the worst looking animation or worst looking characters I've ever seen. Battywinks (or whatever his name is) is worst pony though

I'd make an attempt to watch it if it was G5, however it doesn't really look to good. If G5 is not some sort of continuation of G4 (As in CMC grown up or something) or somehow linked to G4 I might have a hard time liking it. It just wont have that same charm of Rainbow Dashes awesomeness or Twilight Sparkles adorableness.

 

I suspect that G5 (In-which I'm 90 percent sure will happen eventually) will be somehow related to G4. Now of-course it will be very different if we have different writers and that's what I'm afraid of. I know MLP FiM isn't meant to be the next Breaking Bad and is suppose to be some complex show. I hope someone doesn't try to "Innovate" MLP with G5 and go the wrong direction with it. 

 

But back onto topic. In-short if that video was G5, I probably would just remember the good old days of G4. And I would hope that G6 is better.
