The new update is so stupid. The thing I hate most about it is that they got rid of the inbox, and you have to sign up to google+ JUST to post a comment! I find it stupid!

Google is abusing their positions as the owners of the world's largest search engine, mobile OS platform and video sharing site to "earn" users for their own social network, Google+, by forcing it upon people.

 

Take it from someone who's used YouTube since 2006. This is awful.

Honestly, I couldn't care less about requiring a G+ account to do anything with YouTube.  It's just another account that I have that sits inactive and mostly useless.  Then again, I never made an account for YouTube until last year I think.  What I do find annoying is how YouTube is constantly bugging me to change my display name to my actual name, which I find to be the most god-awfully stupid idea conceived by mankind.  Why would I ever want to do that?  Why do they even want me to do that?  It doesn't make sense to me...

I have went over this three total times today on three different accounts. I shall say this again. Google needs to keep their smelly paws off our precious website. They have literally f*cked everything up, and basically shoving Google+ down everyone's throat. I DON'T WANT F*CKING GOOGLE+, I WANT TO SIT DOWN, AND COMMENT AND SHIZ WITHOUT YOUR CRAPPY "UPDATES".

You aren't updating anything, Google. You're royally f*cking up the experience for everyone, coming from someone who's been on YT more than a million friggin times.

 

So again, and for the last time....just **** you, Google. **** you so much.

Considering that the update completely removed the ability to reply to comments...Yeah, I'm against it. They claim the new comment system is to encourage better discourse or something but really...It's Youtube comments.

Unfortunately, there isn't currently much of an alternative to YT

 

And there never will be if we keep the "We're stuck with it" mantra alive...

 

As for the "new comment system"...I don't see it. Literally. There is no new comment system because there is no reply button, so they've eliminated the commenting element.

 

Also, when Youtube reworked the comment organization, something they did caused Adblock to completely remove the entire comment section until I reinstalled the filters. That can't be anything good.

Even as a Google+ user i am not too happy about what is going on, i don’t think its right to force people to sign up for a social network just to post comments. The whole using your real name thing is awful too, if i wanted my real name on youtube i would have made that my username in the first place... Im not a fan of online privacy going the way of the dodo.

Youtube is starting to remind me of the cable company in this recent episode of South Park, they don't give a damn about their consumers because why should they because they have a fragging monopoly?

 

 

The sooner a video hosting site comes up that can rival Youtube the better, they need a good swift kick in the ass and that a little competition is what will do the trick.

There is one thing this has made me certain of. I'm glad I use a pseudonym on my google account and don't use google+.

 

Google certainly wants to push their social network. Look at facebook, people just post everything under the sun on there without any thought that what they're typing is going public. Google wants in on that action, imagine the money they could make using that in their advertising strategy. That's why they're integrating everything to their social network rather than integrating their social network to their services.

 

It makes me rather angry. I honestly wish there was a viable alternative to youtube. If I could find one that suited my purposes, you better believe I would use it. I've left their email service, I've stopped using their search engine, the only thing other than youtube I use is Docs for when I'm desperate.

I don't even have a YouTube account and this update has made me furious.  For me, half the fun of YouTube was reading the comments and looking at those two popular comments that would change every now and then.  Now the joy in that is pretty much gone and the thumbs up system for the comments has also been blown away.  They're just doing this to get people to sign up to their stupid social network that nobody really wants to join.

Exactly, we need someone (Other than Blip) to give Youtube a big competitor. And with the mass amount of hate growing, some other company or entrepreneur may see it a good investment to do so. Once this happens  Google will either kick back into shape, or start going the way of Blockbuster and Myspace.

I sadly lack the programming skill or knowledge to create a rival to Youtube, and even then I lack the advertising talent. If I could get people who had those things...Alas...
