What is innocent about looking at pics of people screwing toon ponies?

Its not just people.  They also do each other with no human involved.

Put it like this. Either we crack down on clopping, or sooner or later, Hasbro will crack down on our fandom. Remember, bronies make up a minority of their customers. A lot of the money we spend on MLP (conventions) etc doesn't even go to Hasbro.

No Hasbro wont. (see my earlier posts)  As for conventions.  That is kinda true. But we are still Advertising the Licence. When non-fans walk past or hear about thease Cons that is basicly Free Publicity.

Whats that?  There is some huge event going on in Baltimore about Ponies?  People of all ages? Maybe I'll look in to it more.

Or think about the Companys that are working with Hasbro that go to thease Cons.  Enterplay, IDW, They use them to "Sell" more Pony Product.  And we love to hear from them what they have in store for the future.  They Love to hear what the Fans are looking for.  So they can sell it to us.   So when we buy this stuff we learned about at the conventions, Hasbro Gets MONEY!!!

Up to the individual. By all means, ignore the elements of the fandom that displease you. But as I've stated in many other brony opinion threads in the past two-three weeks, don't expect those parts of the fandom to stop existing to suit you. You're the one being offended, the burden of reaction is on you. And some reactions (read, going about your business) are more mature and practical than others.

I've alway lived off the rule of you ignore my... interests, let's call them that, and I'll try my best to keep you from seeing them. Also people can't yell, "You sure were going to town and posting like crazy on the Clop Survey!" I have 2 things to say to that, 1. God rest that thread's soul! and 2. It was called the Clop Survey, what was I supposed to post?

Also, now that I've arrived it's time to start the waiting game for thread lock down...

As of this posting current votes are:

21  Votes just ignore the darker side.

1    Vote (Gee I wonder who voted for that) Shun and Hate them

7    Votes Other.

And is anyone going to discuss something other than Clop?

There is Grimdark too.  Or do people care less about mutalated ponies.

For me I already stated.  I don't care for it.  But I wont try and stop it.

You know it seems like everybody on here is likening hating cloppers to something like racial discrimination! It's not people, this is the reason bronies have such a bad reputation! If we were more vocal against some of the more disturbing elements ln in our fandom maybe people would tolerate us more!

People not tolerating us isn't the problem here, it's us not tolerating each other. Sure, it might be slightly creepy, but it's all subjective opinion, some people find this attractive, and you just have to deal with that, and so does everyone else.

I do not believe we should shun them. Just because they're different doesn't mean they should he treated differently. They're people too. It hurts their feelings the same way it may hurt you to know people don't like you just because you're a brony. Don't make instant judgements on them. Some of the nicest, greatest, sweetest people are the ones that are into those parts of the fandom. I'm sure people here know of a few like that.

Give them a chance. We all want friends here. What sense does it make to shun them and make them feel unwanted and alone? That's just being mean, despite how you feel about clopping, gore fics, and those other things. Those people deserve to be acknowledged too. They're just as cool as we are.

I went with the first, though I don't like the way it was written. "Turning a blind eye", has a denotation that it is somehow our responsibility as the fandom to control what other members do. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this.

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

Should we or should we not shun the lesser liked parts of the fandom? As in the Cloppers, Grimdark fans and other less liked parts of the fandom?

As in shun, hate them, bully, isolate them, wish their sub fandom to die and keep them away from the rest of the "morally superior" "normal" Bronies?

I don't think we should hate them, granted yes. There are sick parts of this fandom that even I find sick and disturbing, but I personally feel turning a blind eye to it and ignoring it is best.

Plus if we go around attacking ourselves it just creates drama. So I think we just stay away from these lesser liked parts of the fandom and let them do their thing.

I have a rather well received clop series over on FIMFICTION. I took offense to your shun idea. Sure you claim to personally just turn a blind eye to what you don't like, but you brought up the idea of shunning and bullying people because you don't like what they like. Who elected you as judge and jury of what is sick or disturbing on the internet? Go ahead, shun and hate me. Do you want my address so you can post it, for people to come over and kill me for spoiling their beloved cartoon? If you don't like clop, don't read clop. It's that simple.

Well, I actually like clop. And myself have  (mostly trollfics, but clop none the less) written some, thus like some of the more lesser liked parts of this fandom. I made this thread to challenge the views of some our more out spoken members of our fandom that hate these lesser liked subjects. Better me, than someone who actually does want to insight hate, I merely want to see their views and written the post as if I was one of those "morally superior" "normal" Bronies?

I think, I need to make changes to the first post.

I'm happy most people have not proven to be hateful and spiteful of the other less liked parts of the fandom.

I honestly got a pretty good kick out of the back and forths, thank you for that. But onto the serious stuff now. I'm gonna have to say I agree with the majority here in saying it doesn't really matter at all. They're a part of our fandom and all fandoms have their darker sides. I don't particularly agree with the phrase "turn a blind eye" though because it sounds like we're trying to pretend it's not there, a better phrasing would be to accept it and move on. It's there, so what? If it's not your thing, just don't take part in it. If it is, well that's your thing.

You act like being a clopper somehow automatically puts some sort of negative label on them. One aspect of them suddenly makes them a bad person? You know most bronies are functioning teens and adults in society. It wouldn't be at all surprising to find some of the more upstanding members of the community were actually cloppers.

This doesn't just apply to bronies either. In human society there are many, many fetishes out there. Some can be considered weird but it happens. People are into weird things. For the most part it does nothing to harm anyone as most of it is kept private and what's not is easy to ignore.

With what you've said in this topic you're implying that every person who is a clopper is somehow some depraved member of society who would go out and rape an actual child or pony given the chance but they wouldn't. Not even taking into account the differences between an animated, no-anatomy, personality-driven pony character and an actual pony who is just an animal and cannot understand things on the same level as a human being you're basically saying that these people have no control over such urges, that they don't contribute to the community or society on the exact same level as every other non-clopping member of the fandom and that they are somehow dangerous.

Sure enough people will turn away from the fandom knowing that such people exist but people do the same thing for every other culture, fandom or society. Certain parts of these groups will look bad to another group and thus will make them want to turn away. That's not something you can help. The very idea of being a brony and liking ponies is enough to drive people away.

So do I think we should shun people who do it? Hell no. You can ignore it's existence and being a brony isn't some high-bred society where more members somehow gives us more power. It's just a fandom. We have no power over anything so the inclusion or exclusion of certain members isn't going to change the fact that they are still, in fact, a part of the fandom. You can drive them away from forums but it won't stop them from being there. These people can also be some of our best friends. You don't like to hear about it from them? Ask them not to bring it up around you. Simple as that.

Best post in the thread.

I am myself part of the same lesser like part of the fandom. But as you said that still doesn't mean I'm some psychopath that would harm children and real horses. Which I'm not, and I think most of us people that are part of the lesser liked part of the fandom aren't either.

Nah, I don't think so.

You have the cloppers, and then the Bronies who like all that grimdark stuff.

*Shivers*

I don't like any of it, personally. But Bronies are Bronies, learn to love and accept them all.

I actually have a friend who's into both...

So, I just don't look at all the stuff it looks at, because it slowly murders the Brony inside me.

Simple as that!

Easy as pie.

I will be completely honest here. There's nothing wrong with r34 or grimdark. The unfortunate fact is that little girls, when looking up MLP art, end up running the risk of finding at least a little r34/grimdark, most likely even with safe settings on. It could scar them for life. I found a grimdark picture of Twi that I wish I never found.

That all said though, we shouldn't hate on people for liking something that we don't. It's not my cup of tea, but the only place where this stuff is usually shoved in my face is if I go looking for it. I do think people need to do a better job of keeping this stuff out of search results though. If a little girl isn't looking up r34, then she shouldn't have to see any.

tl;dr Like what you like, ignore the haters, but please keep non childfriendly stuff away from children.

Personally, I wouldn't even say that cloppers and grimdarks are really bad. They just happen to be places (among others) where you can find the real problem bronies, the misogynists and rape-apologists and self-righteous bullies who spit on the Elements of Harmony. I would not say that bullying anyone is the answer or that it will solve anything, but I do think that in our spaces the message needs to be sent (and usually is) that hateful, hurtful behavior is not tolerated by the larger fandom, and that a real brony is not one of these such individuals, but is someone who always works to be honest, kind, generous, joyous, and loyal <3

Those are the people who truly deserve to be shunned. If you want to clop, fine. If you like grimdark shit, hey, so do I, let's hang out. But if you're creeping on young girls, slut-shaming women you sexually assaulted or just acting like an asshole and refuse to correct your own behaviour even after you've been called out on it, you don't deserve to call yourself a brony and you need to GTFO our fandom. Believe me, I've seen some horror stories, up to and including attempted child molestation at conventions. I have nothing against people with mental problems - I have some myself - but when you start wilfully inflicting those problems on the general public, you lose the right to expect people's sympathy and patience.

That's my view on the matter and I'm sticking to it!

I like clopfics, and I'm pretty fond of grimdark stuff too. Does that mean I have to shun myself? Because I rather like it here, and I would prefer not to.

Twilight is best pony.

It makes no sense to do so IMO. It's along the lines of, "I don't care what people think about me, but I'm going to trash someone else's opinions so that people will agree." Just face the facts people. You like My Little Pony. There is no point trying to be the "normal" one because it's never going to work. Attacking the fandom's "dark corners" is hypocritical.

But more importantly, it shouldn't matter what you like so long as you are not breaking the law/hurting people/being a generally stupid and awful person, etc.

Excuse the rant.

Well now that you've put it that way, of course the majority of us are going to say not shun them!

Really... Drama in general tends to happen because people get sucked in. I see it as a kind of mob mind that takes on a life of its own. If you've ever gotten into a frenzy but then regret what you did when you regained your senses, that's the kind of thing I'm talking about.

Generally speaking, it can be quite easy for a person to lose their individuality to a crowd. What I mean by that is that being in a crowd can inhibit your inhibitions. Monkey see, monkey do. While you may not be conscious about it, when you see everyone around you go into a frenzy of some sort, to you it seems as though any sense of accountability is lost. Don't blame me, everyone else was doing it, I swear!

Yes, shun those cloppers!!

I'm totally not a clopper.

I mean, when have I ever said I was a clopper?

Also, shun those turds who say ponies are their "waifus"

Assholes.

That's the best lie-face I had for Rarity :D

But yeahh, no.

As long as we don't go spamming places with clop pictures and how sexy the ponies are and everything, then it shouldn't be a problem :D

Ima clopper, won't ever deny it. Won't go sending you porn and what not, though, and I (try) to keep my drooling over Rarity in queue ;)

So, yeahh, that'd be a negative, ghost rider.

No, because then we'd be no better than the parts of society that already shuns bronies.

I may be obsessive about a certain pink and yellow pony., but how can you bring "normality" into any of this? This is a "fandom" as soon as you joined it, you threw normality out the window.

Well zoophillia is as close to kiddie fiddling as it's possible to get. And anyway, they put it up in the full knowledge that it's available on Google. Even with the filters on.

Absolutely, if by "as close as possible" you mean "not the same thing in the least". As for being available on Google, you do realize that everything is available on Google, right? With very few exceptions. Almost the entire accumulated total of human creation is available somewhere on the internet. It's the greatest thing about the internet.

I don't have the slightest interest in the Rule 34 MLP stuff. I have no interest in bestiality either, as I find the idea of sexual activity with anyone or anything that cannot consent both immoral and disgusting. However, the ponies from MLP are both sentient and fictional, and while I have no interest in that particular fetish, I can't in good conscience condemn someone who does. Everyone has their own preferences. Some people are heterosexual, some are homosexual. Some have no interest in sex, some want to have all of the sex possible. Some people can only be aroused by feet, or overweight people, or clowns (and may the gods have mercy on the tortured souls of the clown-lovers). I myself am a serious member of the BDSM camp. That's the wonderful thing about humanity and our sexuality. It's near-infinite in it's available forms. We are, and should be, free to experiment and enjoy ourselves within the bounds of consent (meaning, with anyone who is consenting, not a child, mentally incapable of consent, or an animal). Comparing sexual interest in a cartoon about sentient creatures to pedophilia is not only offensive to those of us who support the notion of a sexually open and accepting society, it shows a fundamental lack of understanding in regards to sexuality, psychology, and sociology.
