Should we intervene if Equestria was under alien invasion?

Should we (Humanity) intervene  ... if Equestria was under alien invasion.

 

Let's say something like the Borg (whom don't attack us, since we're stronger than them in the galaxy) invaded Equestria, with the intent of assimilating and enslaving the minds of all the Ponies of the planet.

 

Should we be neutral and do nothing to help them and let the Borg destroy Equestria, because we don't want to have a war with the Borg.

 

 

Or should we help save the Ponies, followed by taking the Ponies to safety away from the Borg (taking their home world back for them) and introduce them into the galactic community? As a consequence we have declared war with the Borg and billions of Human lives may be lost to defeat them.

If we're not involved in this and that it doesn't concern us, we should just stay neutral. Don't get me wrong, I would want to save the ponies but even if we did get involved that won't guarantee us a victory over the Borg.

There is technically no reason for humanity to intervene if Equestria was under attack.

 

However, why would we even help them? Why should we waste resource and manpower to help a race that we have neutral feelings about and/or generally don't care about them?

 

Wars are expensive, and the longer they run, the more expense, and the larger the chance humanity would withdraw. So, unless we are in a state where sending people to far away areas and fight without causing massive lost in resource; neutrality would probably be the chance humanity would stand. 

 

And as you said with the consequence of humanity intervening, we will be losing billions of people. This further distance humanity from intervening, the fact that we are wasting so many lives on a race we have a neutral stance on is rather ridiculous. In fact, the minute the death toll reaches that high, there would be no reason left for humanity to continue on fighting. Besides avenging the fallen of course, but I feel most people's minds would be set on getting out of the war as fast as possible. And if we are going higher than losing a billion, people will lose the will to fight--they would also probably hate the people that got them into this mess in the first place.

Well, now that I think of it, my earlier question may have been irrelevant. The borg are the sort of thing that is coming after us anyway, sooner or later. I don't really know. Is there any reference of the borg attacking romulans, for example in the canon of Star Trek? I think that they would be the sort of thing that would make enemies band together to fight them.

 

I'd go for helping the ponies. But it's because I' would like to help the ponies, as much I'd like to help any helpless civilization being attacked by a superior force. And because I think that the borgs would eventually come after us anyway. Better to attack now when their forces are mobilized against another target.

I may be biased because I am a diehard brony, but YES! We should help them by all means! If Russia did nothing while the Axis powers invaded Europe, they would've gotten strong enough to eventually take out Russia. If we sat by and allowed the Borg to assimilate Equestria, then not only are we no better than the Borg, but also, they would become even stronger, and have Equestrian magic at their disposal for when they eventually turn on us (which they would, they plan on assimilating everyone to make them perfect).

 

If nobody on Earth helped, since we're adding Borg to the Equation, I would go to Celestia (Disgaea's version of Heaven) and get all of the angels to fight the borg. I would also go to the Netherworld and get Laharl to lead his army on an assault against the Borg, since they could possibly try to assimilate the Netherworld too. If Laharl was unwilling (which is unlikely, because Flonne would be there to soften his heart), I would go to Hades and ask Valvatorez, and he would undoubtedly be able to defeat the Borg. And I would get Captain Kurtis to help as well, since it's his duty to help anyone who is in danger.

I say help them. If we were to let an entire race be enslaved or genocided, then we're no better then the Borg. Think about this: if humanity was being overrun and enslaved by the Borg, wouldn't you want someone to help? Sure, there's no guarantee of victory, there rarely is, but it's still best to try. But I mean, the human empire can always use more allies, and this one just so happens to be able to access magic, time travel, and speak English. Looks like a win win to me.

   I think it would fill me with shame to know that I could have stopped an alien invasion of Equestria, but didn't because we didn't want to fight a war; I was in the military I know this only too well. War is an awful thing, but so is a conquest and occupation, that could oppress or eviscerate the ponies, try to remember Sonic the Hedgehog "Sat Am", when Julius Robotnik launches a coup d'etat against King Max Acorn, next proceeds to robotise the Mobians, then conquers Mobius, but Sonic, Sally Acorn and the Knothole Freedom Fighters thwarted his efforts to quell the insurgency against his hegemony, so in the end they won, although that is fiction, it is a poignant statement, the Swiss sometimes say, "Neutrality only works if you are strong enough to keep it", and if your friend was in in danger, most of us would rise up to protect them, so that is how I feel, if Equestria was invaded by aliens, I would come to their defence in a heartbeat, if Equestria needs some help well here it is.

It would be futile and as cowardly as this is going to sound-our best bet would probably be in trying to enhance the weapons and technology we have to prepare for such a threat-so self-preservation seems to be the most logical conclusion, unless we wish to martyr ourselves into extinction.

I mean im pretty sure all bronies would say yes, declare war. But thats assuming by the time we found out Equestria was real (AND I HOPE IT IS <3333) everyone would be a brony or a pegasister. I mean when you think about it. Some people hate MLP and some people think its too girly. For example the United Nations would probably say no. Because at a Non-Brony Non-Hater standpoint.
