What are your computer specs?
Cloud-Kicker replied to Twilight Sparkle ✨'s topic in Media Discussion
I've got a fairly cheap Acer Aspire 5542 that I got 3 or 4 years ago. Processor: AMD Turion II mobile processor M500 / 2.2 GHz ( Dual-Core ) Memory: 4.0 GB / 4.0 GB (max) Hard Drive: 320.0 GB - Serial ATA-150 I've filled up the disk space on it at least six times now, it's really slow no matter what I do and it's literally falling apart. For example, the earphone jack fell out, two of the four USB inputs just refuse to work, the keys barely work, the battery only lasts for a minute at most when not plugged in, it fries brand new batteries in a matter of days, the power cord snapped, the top falls off and the screen is barely even attached. But despite the condition of it, it has been through quite a lot and it has served me very well. I hope to be purchasing a new computer very soon, but even if I don't, I'm sure I could squeeze another year or two out of this guy.- 1,126 replies

I couldn't help but notice that there was a guitar thread but no Bass guitar thread. I know somepony out there has to play bass guitar. If so, share your bass playing backgrounds. What kind of bass? What type of music do you play? What would you like to play? Favorite songs/ bassists? I jam on a red Cort bass for my 4 string and a Green Ibanez for my 5 string. Not sure the exact models, as I do not currently have them with me. I like to play funk and slap bass a lot because i like to jam and have some groove going. I also like to play metal and djent type music, once again for the groove. My favorite bassists include Flea (didn't see that one coming, eh?), Victor Wooten and Evan Brewer. Lately I've been listening to A LOT of Evan Brewer. His rhythm and speed are incredible and his talent is inhuman. I can't seem to keep up with him.

So, who plays the guitar around here?
Cloud-Kicker replied to Sugar Chime's topic in Media Discussion
I'm going to college next year and majoring in guitar. I try to play everything from metal to classical, but I always seem to come back to jazz and blues. I have 9 guitars in total and the ones I use most are my Ibanez Steve Vai signature Jem, my Yamaha standard nylon string classical, my ovation acoustic and my Ibanez 7 string. I like to play through either Orange or Mesa amps and my favorite heads are usually EVH. I currently jam with a Mesa boogie top cab, Mesa stiletto bottom and an EVH 5150 head and I absolutely love it's sound, but I don't own it myself. I want to, but i don't have the cash, so borrowing it works for now. I also love using pre-amps such as the Axe-Fx II as I can get almost any sound I want with it. I usually use a pick when I play, but I've been writing a lot of songs that are exclusively tapping and finger-picking lately also. Sorry for the long post but like going into detail when it comes to music. -
I wouldn't say I'm straight-edge, I just don't give a shit. I don't really do anything that would cut me out of that label but the only reason I don't do it is because I'm always too lazy or too busy to uphold a habit such as smoking or drinking. For one I'm not quite old enough to drink or do... well, anything yet really, but If I had a mind to, I could, but why go out of my way to do it? If the opportunity presented itself, I suppose I would probably partake, but if not, I don't care. Also, my health wouldn't allow for any type of long term habits or any activities with lasting effects such as smoking or drinking so that also factors heavily into the situation. Either way, I just don't give enough shits to uphold the straight-edge culture or otherwise even, I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

I'm losing my grasp on the internet. I need to get off of reality for awhile.

So your friends know you're a brony...
Cloud-Kicker replied to Twiliscael's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Some people know, some don't. I haven't really kept track of who knows and who doesn't because frankly, I just don't care. I'm not trying to impress anybody so they can think whatever they want to about what I take interest in. I they ask what I like, I'll say ponies. If they don't...well ponies will probably somehow come into play anyways, but I don't simply shove the fact that I'm a brony in their face. Liking MLP is similar to liking a certain band. Nobody should care whether I like it or not, so why make a big deal about it? -
I like to spend my mornings getting ready for bed.

What's the first feature you notice on people?
Cloud-Kicker replied to PeachPalette's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to say eyes, or facial expressions but my city is so dirty and full of people that can barely pass as functional human beings, I rarely give people the time of day when I meet them. So usually I tent to, not exactly judge them, but decide whether or not I should interact with them, based on their clothes and the way they carry themselves. When I'm in a different setting though, I become somewhat more sociable and I start making eye contact a lot more, so i guess I'll say eyes, but it all depends on where I am and who I'm seeing. -

Random question of the day! What is your favourite emoticon?
Cloud-Kicker replied to Andytable's topic in Forum Lounge
<== This or, this ==>ಠ_ಠ Love 'em both although I don't get to use them very often -
I've never had a solid sleep schedule or any specific requirements for sleeping. Whatever happens, happens. Usually I end up sleeping with full clothes,on a couch with no pillows for maybe three or four hours before class. That will usually happen almost every day for a couple of weeks or so until my body can't keep up. That's when I take a whole day or two to just sleep and relax in my pajamas, with a pile of big fluffy pillows. That's sporadic cycle has been a problematic part of my life for quite awhile, but I enjoy it for the most part. I can't say for sure what position I tend to sleep in because it always changes.

music Most Overrated/ Underrated Albums/Bands Ever
Cloud-Kicker replied to Cynic's topic in Media Discussion
Overrated: City and Color. I find all of his songs to be really simplistic and people get way to hyped up and over-inspired by him. I know a ton of musicians that just up and dropped their previous project simply because they wanted to write music like Dallas Green, and now they just regurgitate the same folky crap over and over again when it wasn't even that great to begin with. I'll admit it's okay stuff at times but it's nothing more than over hyped campfire songs. Underrated: This Town Needs Guns http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=de1bt5dc2t0 The amount of talent these guys have is incredible and they are overlooked far too often. -
Who knows what they really want. There are a lot of things I could say I want such as a new car or a nice house or something along those material lines, but all of those things are simply temporary material things that will be used as nothing more than an distraction to tide you over until the next thing comes along. I want something that will last. Something that can make me happy ,if not forever, at least for a very long period of time. Something that wont simply be surpassed by the next big thing. The thing is, I'm still not exactly sure what that is. I don't know if anybody really knows what that is. So, until I figure that out, I suppose a new computer and payed off tuition will have to do.

I end up in weird positions regardless of what I'm doing. I usually just slowly droop over to the side, more and more until I'm almost upside down. Then once I realize how I'm sitting, I'll usually either just stay like that or I'll... no, I mostly just stay that way after.

It's raining where I am now, but the city I live in is so dirty the rainbow here will probably be all grimy and monotone. This city doesn't deserve to be graced by Dashie's presence anyways. If i was to see Rainbow Dash, I'd hope not to see her here. But when I move out of here, I'll definitely be on the lookout.

gaming What is the most recent video game you beat?
Cloud-Kicker replied to Sepia-chan's topic in Media Discussion
I just replayed Final Fantasy X-2 this week. I really wanted to play FFX but I can't find this disc ANYWHERE. I don't mind though. X-2 was pretty damn good too. I just really wish I could find that game. Of course when I don't want to pay it, it's in plain sight. But the second I want to game out... *sigh* I guess I'll just buy it again. It's not like it's even expensive! It just sucks having to spend five bucks at a hock shop for a game you already have. -_- -
The difference is, MLP isn't pandering to their needs. They want us to be brainwashed soldiers, not happy tolerant citizens. The best part about this is we're not even trying to get attention from these people. They're just mindlessly attacking bronies because they've been programmed to think that it's bad along with everything that isn't considered "manly". The fact that there is so much more important and even possibly threatening things going on, yet they still decide to bash bronies amazes me. The internet alone is spawning worse things than us bronies, and yet we seem to be the hot button issue. Are people really so bored and desperate for attention that they feel the need to write insulting articles about people watching a certain tv show? Whatever man. They can say what they want, I'm happy with my life.

Okay, you have a good point there. I do hate it when people obviously do whatever they can to look weird and flaunt their "uniqueness" whenever possible, then say shit like "oh I'm just expressing myself". But one or two piercings isn't that bad. Hell, most people don't even notice mine. One of my old teachers that I see just about every day didn't notice my nose piercing until like a month ago, and I've had it since September!
-
I got my nose pierced at the beginning of this year. I'm not sure what else I'm gonna get, that is IF I get any more. Probably just my septum or my lip. I've noticed that people always seem to think that piercing and tattoo's are mainly for attention, but I wasn't trying to impress anybody by getting mine. Anypony else feel like they tend to get criticized or even ostracized by others simply because they embrace their chosen styles, such as saving piercings or the like? It doesn't happen often for things like this. I find it's usually even more trivial things, but It still happens on occasion and it makes me wonder why people can't just grow up and be a bit more open minded and accepting.

I'd have to say that was and always will be, George Carlin. He usually played background or minor support parts because he was more of a comedian than an actor but every time I saw him it made the film just that much better.

You have no clue how much I'd love to do this, but I know I would somehow forget and I would feel horrible after leaving my pen pal hanging, and either way, postage is expensive and I'm not exactly rolling in the dough at the moment so for the sake of conserving other's feelings and keeping from pandering to the corrupt post offices whims, I guess I'll just stick to myself for now. Also, please ignore my pitiful and obvious excuses to hide my horrid handwriting from the rest of the world. I'm doing the world a great kindness by keeping it hidden. Maybe sometime in the future I'll come to my senses and begin making use of our postage service in order to keep in contact with others but until then, e-mails and phone calls it is. TL;DR, I'm cheap and I suck at writing neatly.
