  1. This one has never really clicked with me either. I totally agree with you. Sure, it makes a cool fanfiction, but it doesn't fit the context of Celestia's character or the show.
  2. 1. Equestria is a post-apocolyptic (sp?) earth. Just no. 2. Any shipping that has no canonicity whatsoever. If there was an interaction between the two ponies, then yes, that's okay, but if they haven't even seen each other in the show, it bugs me to see them shipped. 3. The whole theory about the six girls who died being the inspirations for the Mane Six. Just a lie someone made up for kicks.
  3. Is this really what you want? In concept, an animal licking another animal on the face is cute, but the ponies have too much depth and emotional intelligence for it to seem anything but gross. If the show wasn't so well developed, it might be ok, but the cast is too "humane" for it to work.
  4. Somebody else might have said it, but I always had a headcanon that Fluttershy's parents were REALLY good flyers, possibly even famous Wonderbolts. They were both pretty high up in the ranks, so it consumed most of their time, so they didn't spend a lot of time with Flutters. It would explain why she got sent to flight camp, because her parents hoped she would get better there. She's so shy because her parents get so much attention, but she sees how hard they work to keep an image and doesn't want to have to deal with all the stress of public image. It makes sense with character stereotype, I think. "The only child from a rich family becomes a homely nature lover because she's not skilled at what her parents do" is a pretty popular character idea. My other headcanon is that both she and RD are from single parent homes, RD having her dad and Flutters having a mom. I think it would make the show personal to kids with single parent homes, but there's no canonicity.
  5. He Doesn't like Rainbow Dash??? We will change him... :okiedokielokie: Haha I'm just kidding. Part of "loving and tolerating" is loving the non-bronies, despite your differences. Kudos to the Lesson Zero recommendation. Maybe you should try some Discord episodes? He might enjoy some of the more "filler" episodes rather than the storyline episodes, as well. I hope it goes well for you!
  6. I think the Everfree forest is supposed to represent an evil place, seeing that the Timberwolves, Shadow Bolts, etc. live there, but it would be cool to have another place that "breathed negativity."
  7. I don't necessarily LIKE him, but I do feel sorry for him. The way the Mane Six treat him is sometimes just awful, plus the way he was just given to Twilight as an egg, and forced to stay with her and serve her makes me feel a little queasy.
  8. It's totally plausible. Your description reminds me of the area that Rarity ended up in when she got her cutie mark. I think that we will see more settings around and outside of Equestria this season. Looking forward to it!
  9. So I had an idea for the cutie map adventures for season five. The "Journal of the Two Sisters" tells us about the land of the zebras, so how cool would it be to actually see the Mane Six and possibly Zecora travel there? Zecora hasn't had a main role since season four, episode fourteen, so I thought it would be pretty cool. Do you have another idea for how Zecora could appear in season five?
  10. Anything with more Zecora in it is good to me. I don't have any specific love for Celestia, but I think that's because she's such an underdeveloped character emotionally.
  11. This is complete headcanon, but I had imagined that Luna didn't just prowl about dreams all night, but could tell when a pony is having nightmares by a sensation, like a.... ...disturbance in the force? :comeatus:
  12. Not a big fan of Trixie, to be honest, but I wouldn't be surprised if she showed up again. Maybe not in this season, but possibly in the next, and most definitely in the MLP movie in 2017.
  13. My standard answer for this type of question is, "If it CAN be shipped, it WILL be shipped." But regarding this one, most of this ship's "canon" came from Filli Vanilli, when Fluttershy replaced Big Mac's voice in the Pony Tones. There was a one second shot where he was watching her dance from a window and that sparked the ship. There were probably shippers of this before then, but I remember the bandwagon grew much larger after that. I don't really care for this one, though. I'm a Big Mac x Cheerilee shipper all the way.
  14. I feel the same way. I didn't like the idea of Equestria Girls, and still don't, actually, but I was pleasantly surprised by the first movie. The second one had a phenomenal soundtrack. But I do expect this one to be very good, as long as it's an FiM movie and not EQG3...
  15. Though I can't say a lot about specific background ponies, I do think we will see more character development of some of them in episode 100. Because we've seen Vinyl Scratch a lot, and we have seen her interact with the Mane Six, yet she hasn't spoken, it's pretty evident that she prefers her music to interacting with other ponies. Add to this her constant wearing of headphones, and we get a rather introverted pony. I see her as a pony who likes to be at the party, but involved in the organizing and music, not on the dance floor, ya know? I'm not saying she's antisocial; just that she prefers to listen to her music than talk to anyone.
  16. I think they're just immortal beings like Discord. As far as the negativity giving them youthfulness, that doesn't make sense, because the sirens implied that they were already very low on negativity juice (?) when the movie started, but when everybody started arguing, they got more, and their magic became stronger. Their appearances didn't really change. All in all, it's probably just plot convenience; saying they are immortal creatures is easier than having three grannies sing at a rock concert.
  17. Though I think names like Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara are lazy, names like Applejack and Rainbow Dash are based on appearance/heritage. Pinkie Pie, as mentioned before, was a pink foal, therefore she was named Pinkie Pie, the Pie part being a family name. Names like Trouble Shoes don't necessarily have to do with their cutie mark; they just happen to fit well in our minds. It could be a pony who has bad luck, or it could be a mischievous cobbler. Or an axe murderer. There's a lot of options! I'm sure the writers got tired at certain points and just named ponies after their cutie marks, but I'm glad they did. How boring would it be if MLP had human names, like Margaret or Anna? Or if a pony with a name like Rotten Luck became a cardiac surgeon?
  18. Age: 16 Gender: Female 1) How did you become a Brony? I kept seeing memes about the show for months and eventually decided to watch it. 2) How long have you been a Brony? Since February 2012. 3) What do you most like about the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? Mainly the lore. Equestria is such a complex setting with so many different regions and thousands of years of history. I also love the character interaction and the lessons that even older people can apply. 4) Who is your favorite character on the show and why? Rainbow Dash. Her spunk and coloration are adorable, but I find her relatable because she is so competitive and pushes herself to the max. 5) What do you most love about being a Brony? I love the fact that people from the ages of five to ninety-five are fans of the show. I think it brings people around the world together. Bronies have a unity that is distinct from any other because we are taught, as the fandom motto says, to "love and tolerate." 6) Do you interact with other Bronies, if so where/how? I chat on this forum and watch youtube videos. 7) Do you create things based off of the show, such as art, videos, music, etc.? I do a lot of personal drawings and recordings. 8) Have you ever experienced people putting you down because you are a Brony? People have laughed at me for it because I am known as more of a tomboy and the see it as a girly show, but I haven't had too much of a hard time with it. 9) Has being a Brony taught you something about life or people? It's okay to be different. When you start standing out, you'll find a community of others who have the same interests, and the people who ridiculed you won't seem so big. 10) What is one thing you wish the world knew about Bronies? For female teen Bronies, it would have to be that we aren't acting childish by saying we like ponies. We just prefer ponies to the vampires and werewolves the other girls are indulging in. For our adult community, I would like everyone to know that most don't have a hidden motive for watching the show. They just genuinely enjoy it.
  19. It's probably just the radiance of the gold-ish color from the tickets, or an animation error. Either way, I had never noticed it before.
  20. I have two other friends who were bronies back when the show first started, but have since dropped out of the fandom. I was wearing my Doctor Whooves shirt one day at the airport when a middle-aged lady came up to me and told me she loved my shirt. That's about the only brony interaction I've had.
  21. This is exactly why I'm not a huge fan of Pinkie Pie. Her often sardonic comments or inconsiderate remarks make me wince.
  22. Big Mac and Cheerilee? A possible Dr Whooves and Roseluck? I had low expectations for this episode, but now you're getting me excited!

    music Is music dying?

Personally I love soundtracks, contemporary Christian, 40s-50s swing, and some acoustic/indie. I also like to listen to electronic when I'm studying. So yeah, my music tastes are definitely a minority. I agree that good, meaningful music is fizzling out and being replaced by meaningless, repetitive choruses or rap that always talk about drugs, alcohol, or physical stuff. :comeatus:
  24. My conspiracy theory is that Discord is the father of Celestia and Luna. It would explain their immortality. That actually holds a lot of water. Cadence and Twilight are sisters (in-law), so I could see that happening. Celestia and Luna ruled over celestial bodies, which didn't work out too well for them in their reign, so I guess they decided to teach the other two alicorns more important lessons about love and friendship.
  25. First of all, he has to be either good-looking, charismatic, or both. If he doesn't have followers, or at least sympathizers, he isn't a good villain. A reasonable motive is nice, but if somebody just wants to "watch the world burn," as it were, that is even better to me. I despise a villain who reforms, especially when it's convenient. For me, it's really about the charisma. If he doesn't have that wicked charm, he's not a villain.
