  1. I do think Twilight's Kingdom is overrated (it's my opinion, not a fact), and as much as I like Meghan McCarthy I'm glad this was her last two-parter. It had the usual problems almost any two-parter she's ever written has, the first episode is full of exposition and the main conflict takes the whole first episode to start, half of the second episode is build up and then the conflict gets resolved without a proper transition, I also don't think it did a good job to help Twilight embrace her title as the princess of friendship, if anything it only forced her into a position in which she was too OP for her own good (Amending Fences does a much better job with this later on). The episode has its virtues, like the song at the beginning, how it handled Discord's reformation and how "epic" it was, despite what I've said I don't think it's a bad episode and I actually loved it the first time I watched it, but it just doesn't age well once the hype isn't there anymore. It's the same problem A Canterlot Wedding has, although it's not as bad with this episode. I think The Cutie Re-Mark is very underrated, I like it way better than this episode.
  2. I kept reading "overheated" and didn't know what this was about. Anyway, I don't have a problem with them, I actually think they look pretty cool, like bug fairy deers or something like that, but they are extremely colorful compared to the non reformed changelings, and the fact they had to change appearance once they became good was kind of unnecessary.
  3. Writing a longish answer to a thread.
  4. Well, this is kind of an old thread, but since it's been revived I'll just put my list here: Love: 1. The Cutie Map, an episode darker and more philosophically ambitious than anything the show had and has ever done. A great villain, a great song, strong sense of adventure, thought provoking, good pacing, and good characterization. 2. Bloom & Gloom, it made for a great use of the inception-like plot, representing each one of AB's fears in ver creative and sometimes disturbing ways, it also had one of the best lessons. 3. Amending Fences, while Twilight isn't my favorite these kind of episodes make me have a lot of respect for her, she did earn her title of princess of friendship after all. 4. The Cutie Re-Mark, it was very interesting seeing the alternate timelines and how Twilight and Starlight kept trying to outsmart each other. My favorite scene is Starlight's reformation, it's another one of those moments that make me love Twilight. 5. Slice Of Life, a celebration of bronies and a very fun and random episode. What's not to like about it? 6. Crusaders Of The Lost Mark, simply put, I love musicals when they are as well done as in this episode, the songs can transmite emotions and make the plot advance in ways normal episodes couldn't. 7. Brotherhooves Social, it was very funny, maybe a little bit too cringy, but that scene in the end is worth it, extremely heartwarming and poignant. Also, it's a Big Mac episode. 8. Party Pooped, I love Pinkie Pie's randomness and absurdity, I can always count on this episode to make me laugh like when I was 10. 9. Rarity Investigates!, one of the most fun episodes of the show, and while the mystery was kind of obvious how it was solved was very interesting. 10. Make New Friends But Keep Discord, also one of the most fun episodes, which is to be expected of a Discord episode. Fluttershy was great too, and the moral was very relatable. Good: 11. Canterlot Boutique, I like it a lot because of how true it is to the real world and the entertainment industry, I also love seeing more of Rarity's artistic side. 12. The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows, same reason as Party Pooped. 13. The Mane Attraction, a cute episode with amazing songs, but maybe a bit cliché and forced. 14. Made In Manehattan, there's something about the resolution of this episode that I can't help but love. The rest isn't that memorable though. 15. Scare Master, while it's annoying in the beginning, when the scary tea party starts it becomes really good. It also has a very good moral. 16. Lost Treasure Of Griffonstone, it was nice to see Gilda again and it was a fun episode too, mostly because of Pinkie Pie. 17. Castle Sweet Castle, very sweet and with a great resolution, but it has one problem with the plot, there's no way the mane 5 would be that stupid in the beginning. 18. Heartbreakers, there's nothing to dislike about it, I feel I should like it more than I do. Mediocre: 19. What About Discord?, great idea with mediocre execution, it ends up being very boring to watch. 20. Appleloosa's Most Wanted, kind of boring and with unfortunate implications about cutie marks. 21. The Hooffields and McColts, then again, another boring and forgettable episode, which is a shame because it'd been nice to see a well written Twilight-Fluttershy dynamic. Bad: 22. Princess Spike, a generic bad Spike episode, if it weren't so forgettable it'd probably be lower on this list. 23. Do Princesses Dream of The Magic Sheep?, great idea, but poorly paced and with tons of fan pandering, it ends up feeling like a fanfic trying too hard to be deep and cool at the same time. 24. Tanks For The Memories, comparing hibernation with death is not a bad idea, but you have to play with your limitations, not simply ignore them, which is why this episode miserably fails, never had I ever felt so little sympathy for one of the mane 6, and never had I ever felt so uncomfortable watching an episode of MLP. The weather factory scenes are specially terrible.
  5. It's uncomfortable for me to see Tank anymore because of Tanks For The Memories. I heard Scootaloo's VA was so much of a good singer (which she is) that she had a hard time attempting to sound bad. Actually, she doesn't sound that bad to me, I quite like the song.
  6. I was worried for season 6 and I liked it a lot, so this time I'll have faith and see what happens. New writers come with fresh ideas, which is good, and it also means the old writers won't let the show die by losing inspiration (which would happen at some point were the writers permanent), but the episodes of the new writers might not be too well implemented because they lack the experience of writing for this show, not to mention it's more plot-heavy than it has ever been with 140 episodes, so it might also be hard for them to be consistent. Anyway, I'm looking forward to Berrow's episodes because I loved The One Where Pinkie Pie Knows, also to Nick's (I'm disappointed he'll only write one though), and I hope Vogel and Rapp return as well.
  7. Nothing like eating the pizza you left on the fridge the night before. Not heating it again, just eating it cold.

    1. VladmireV.S.(Crank)

      VladmireV.S.(Crank)

Best thing on earth, hands down.

  8. This whole sequence of events is hilarious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJ8oTjEoFdg
  9. What a shame, I actually think his last episode was a really great one. So it's official we've lost all the original crew for this season.
  10. I think the map is a very interesting concept, and I really like its episodes. I think it's pretty cool how it summons them to solve a seemingly small problem, but in the process it ends up inspiring various other ponies and solving a bigger problem than intended. That's why I don't like Top Bolt so much, and while the episode is actually pretty good I simply dislike how the map only summoned them to solve the problem with the two pegasi and nothing else.
  11. I don't think Twilight is grooming Starlight to be her successor, Twilight hasn't been a princess for so long so that she'd need one, and she became Starlight's teacher because it was dangerous to send her on her way being aware of her magical abilities, not to mention part of her studies is learning not to rely on magic so much, so it'd make no sense to give her even more power when she already has enough. Even if Twilight did indeed have that plan for Starlight, what would Starlight think about it? Unlike Twilight, she's not predestined to be the savior of Equestria (Twilight is by the tree of harmony) nor does she have the seemingly blind devotion Twilight has to Celestia, so she might just want to do her own thing. I'm sure teaching about friendship will be something she'll want to do, but not to the level of becoming an authority like Twilight.
  12. Indeed, it wasn't even meant to be a joke, but personally I think it's funny because it makes you go like "but... they're horses" and it gets confusing when you try to think what it means in that world.
  13. It's a shame that she's lost this trait from season 1, but she used to be really sarcastic herself. She made me laugh a lot in Feeling Pinkie Keen when she said "Oh REALLY? Did your pinkie sense tell you that too?".
  14. I wouldn't say so, it's true that I had been liking every movie more than the last one until the last one, but the quality hasn't improved so much since Rainbow Rocks. Friendship Games is my favorite almost because I decided I wanted that movie to be my favorite in instead of RR, and Legends of Everfree was kind of a letdown compared to what the former two movies did.
  15. I'm not because the hiatuses are getting too short now, but I'm still waiting for it and confident that it'll be as good as the former seasons have been.
  16. Fluttershy would be the most awkward as a pegasus, except she already is a pegasus xD
  17. Definitely Shine Like Rainbows. That song is very nice to listen to, it's very calm, sweet and heart-warming, maybe a little cheesy but I love that kind of songs at the end of movies or episodes, they make me feel good about the thing I just watched. It's still my favorite song of the EqG movies.
  18. Spike has always been a good character to me, but a good supporting character (which doesn't make him any less important), and that's why his best roles had been when he was there helping Twilight in episodes like Lesson Zero, The Crystal Empire, The Cutie Re-Mark, and even the first EqG movie (he is the principal reason I don't dislike that movie). The problem with that kind of character is giving him the leading role, and I believe that's a problem AJ has as well (she's also great in supporting roles, but her episodes tend to be boring, in Spike's case they tend to be very badly written). Having him help other ponies (or creatures, in this case) aside form the mane 6 really worked for him, and I'm happy to see he finally had a good episode since Equestria Games. Now, about the episodes themselves... Spike was great, but their biggest fault in my opinion is, well, almost everything else, which makes me "like" them but not wish to see them again. I didn't like seeing the teenage dragons being jerks again and I didn't find Ember to be such a great character (just good, but I don't really care about her), the same goes for Thorax, or at least it went until the finale. I did like the song a lot though, I loved how Twilight's and Starlight's expressions slowly changed as he was singing. About season 6, I really enjoyed it. It had two great Spike episodes, it had Starlight (whom I found to be a great character), it brought back a beloved old character (Trixie), it was very experimental, it made me love Fluttershy again, it had some hilarious episodes like The Saddle Row Review, and it had episodes like Newbie Dash and Flutter Brutter (I know a lot of people disliked them, but I liked a lot what they did and the morals they had). I'm looking forward to see what season 7 has to offer
  19. Spike. Discord. Gabby. The Smooze. Zecora. And dont forget the best one... Fernando
  20. Fluttershy was my favorite when I first began to watch the show, I just loved everything about her, her personality, how adorable she was, how she had repressed anger issues and how she overcame her fears. After season 4 I stopped caring about her so much (I still did, just not as much), and I had started liking Rarity, who ended up being my favorite after rewatching her older episodes. She's been my favorite ever since. Rarity being my favorite is likely not going to change, but what does change a lot is my second favorite. I can't decide between Fluttershy (whom I started liking as much as I did before in season 6), Pinkie Pie and Twilight.
  21. I'm all for having holidays that are unique to the MLP universe, but I don't see anything wrong with the ones we already have.
  22. Because someone came up with those things and people liked them, it doesn't have anything more to it to explain.
  23. When I first watched that episode in Spanish I actually thought they had translated his name. Another name that can be translated from Spanish is Luna, which means moon. Those are latin roots, not necessarily Spanish, Sombra also means shadow in Portuguese, and in Italian it's Ombra. As for Luna, it also means moon Italian and in Portuguese it's Lua. Personally, I think the writers were just looking for a cool sounding name, and Sombra sounds pretty cool.
