I read your article on Amino and, like you said, there's very little info out there. I think she's interesting though, and such a cool name. No cutie mark though? I often feel alone with my liking of Sea Swirl. -
But being perfunctory is not really what the NPC meme makes fun of. It makes fun of what is illustrated in the comic. Moralizing and preaching talking points just because, and insisting that nobody challenges them. Think...about...it...

I think it's a cliche. It's like betting black or red in roulette - there seems to be a pattern, but it may just be expectation bias. So I don't think there's merit in it. There are a multitude of considerations people go through when it comes to attraction. What is the perfect gift?

So I just listened to ALL of the songs from Season 1,2,3,4 Rainbow Rocks and EQG. I do not know how anyone can deny the artistic quality of the show. I also don't know if Daniel Ingram ever won any awards, but he should. Same goes for the vocalists. Magnificent.

The seasons hardly matter to me - I like and dislike episodes from all the seasons (relatively speaking...maybe only 2 or 3 episodes of all I'll never watch again). So far I cheated and Youtubed one S8 episode - I loved it!!!! I want to watch all them now.

And I found This. I'm not trying to prove anything, just that there seems like enough evidence that their 'best friend' status seems believable. I don't know about Shoeshine...I like her, but, she was kinda mean to Fluttershy in Putting Your Hoof Down. I think Shoeshine needs some work on the whole friendship is magic thing. So she was probably trying to cause problems between Lyra and Bon Bon by spending time with her. One she gets her act together, I totally ship Shoeshine and Sea Swirl. -
That and hardly any mention of Sea Swirl ever...and she's on just about every episode! But a couple of points to consider... 1) Lyra and Bon Bon made up at the end of SoL, showing that their friendship was genuine. 2) They are often shown together, even before SoL. 3) I want to know why Sea Swirl is ignored by the fandom.
