  1. I can't see anything indicating intentional action. Star Tracker shows a near Pinkie level of ability to move unnoticed. I don't think she was sorry though. At least not initially.
  2. There were maybe two dozen people there...but that was an early afternoon time on a weekday so probably not indicative. Looked like everyone else was parents with kids.
  3. The scene with the pirates did make the Storm King seem kind of like some sort of evil corporation. The merchandise and everything.
  4. The memes are bait. Once you're in you can't get out. We're glad to have you!
  5. First things first. It's not Rainbow Rocks. It's a decent movie, but not a great one. The movie suffers from trying to cram a lot of new settings in (probably at the direction of the toy department) which makes it hard to focus, many of the plot developments feel rushed (again since they had to cram so much in), and Twilight winds up with a bit of an idiot ball to fit the traditional movie structure (and I tend to not mind that sort of thing much if it's at least a plausible idiot ball). However, the movie is still entertaining, and while I have no interest in watching it again, I am glad I saw it. The animation is a lot less different from the show than it appears in the trailers; the differences are mostly in the backgrounds so you tend not to notice. The "main" villain actually is not the one with the majority of the screen time, and the minion who does most of the work is suitably menacing and cool.
  6. I'm a big QuibbleDash and Fluttercord shipper, but only one of those is likely to be even teased, let alone canon.
  7. I have to vote Tara Strong. Probably my favorite voice actor in anything. (I was a big Teen Titans fan before I discovered MLP). Though sometimes Tabitha can make me question that. She is a close second, and the writers often are better at utilizing her talents. She is pretty much the whole reason Rarity is one of my favorite characters (which I was not expecting when I started the series).
  8. I think that this is something best explored through secondary characters. As much as I would like to see certain ships become canon, the writers probably know what kind of minefield they'd be stepping in if they put a Mane 6 pony in a relationship, and I imagine they want no part of that. This is something best left to the fanfics. I wouldn't mind more Shining Armor and Cadance though
  9. I'd recommend looking into fanfiction. There's a lot of great stuff out there. I'd recommend some, but I have no idea what you'd enjoy, and there's simply too much to list. Also, I've found watching reactions of your favorite episodes to be rather entertaining.
  10. MLP is not for everyone. I can certainly understand why someone would watch it and have a response of "meh". In fact, that was me in 2012 when I watched the first three episodes. They were better written than I expected, the characters were well-rounded, and the animation was exceptionally well done. But ultimately, while I appreciated the quality, I felt no real draw to watch the rest. Now, several years later, I found that the lighter, happier tone much more attractive in contrast to a lot of the "darker and edgier" stuff that seems to be popular now. I've got enough stress in real life, so the low-drama stories are rather refreshing. That, combined with an extremely prolific fandom gives plenty of great content to enjoy (seriously, the fandom is probably half the appeal of the show; there's some truly INCREDIBLE works out there). In regards to the show itself, I don't know which episodes you watched (and I'm not sure what watching them "ironically" means, but I doubt it is the kind of open mindedness required to actually find you enjoy the show), but the first season is very predictable and doesn't do much innovating (aside from having far more character development and nuance than other children's cartoons). Season Two is where it really picked up for me, specifically "Lesson Zero", which takes apart the previous season's formulaicness. There's considerable debate in the fandom on the subject, and it is mostly a matter of opinion, but I feel that the show has improved enormously as time has gone by. Also, I agree that Pinkie can be really irritating in large doses, but she does have her narrative uses.
  11. I've seen a number of fanfics mentioning "Dressage" clubs, where ponies slowly put on clothes to music. It's great because the joke works on several different levels.
  12. I doubt RD has what you would typically consider low self-esteem issues. Rather, due to a number of factors, particularly her parents, I think she has difficulty knowing whether or not any given accomplishment has actual value. Thus, she pushes herself to accumulate vast numbers of awards and achievements because she doesn't really know how much is enough. In her mind, she's not sure whether praise is genuine or not, so she figures if she gets enough, some of it will at least be real. Her concern over Daring Do I feel is adequately explained by her being an avid fan of the series, and having a personal stake in its success (since she figured prominently in at least one).
  13. 4 deserves a mention for tying the finale, premier and episodes between together so well, and being the only season to really have an arc. 5 I think has the highest average quality of episodes I think. 6 has the majority of my favorite episodes, (though 7 could change that) but also some not so great ones that bring the quality down somewhat.
  14. Out of all of the seasons, S6 probably has the highest number of episodes I went back and rewatched (some many times), thought S5 comes close. It also has a lot of my favorite episodes (A Hearth's Warming Tail, Saddle Row Review, Stranger than Fan Fiction, No Second Prances, and others). I wouldn't say it's forgettable. On the other hand, I can understand why a lot of the episodes were hit-or-miss (I thought Newbie Dash was fantastic except for the bit where she impersonates her friends, but a lot of people dislike it), and some weren't very good. But all seasons have a mix of good and bad, and I think S6 has a lot of good in it.
  15. Good games take a lot of work. Complexity adds up fast. A lot of game making tools limit the scope pretty harshly, so it's often hard to create what you envisioned. That said, if you already know (or are willing to learn) a bit of programming, Unity can be a very powerful tool. It handles a lot of the most complex systems; physics, 3D graphics and lighting, collisions, etc. So all you really have to worry about is making the rules of the game itself mostly. Plus there's a large library of assets available, and you can probably find pony models somewhere. There may be simpler ways out there, but I think Unity is the best mix between simplicity and the ability to actually make ideas work.
  16. I certainly wouldn't call the Timber-Twilight subplot good, but it was certainly better than the Flash-Twilight subplot from the previous movies. I agree with what was said above about moving too fast. The key difference is Timber actually is a character aside from his relationship with Twilight. You could take out the romance plot from the movie, and he still is relevant, and narratively interesting, primarily due to his conflict with his sister. If you took the Flash Twilight romance out of EG1, Flash is a background character in crowd shots. Nothing about him is really relevant to the story, or to Twilight. They seemed to realize this by EG3 which is pretty much just a cameo for him. Ironically, it's his past failed relationships with Sunset and Twilight that actually start to create a character for him in LoE, and might be an avenue for the writers to rescue him from the scrappy heap if the writers pursue it.
  17. Assuming all loop hole abuse choices are disallowed, I think a long road trip across the USA with Twilight discussing human technology, culture, history, etc. would be pretty fun.
  18. I'm expecting the next moment in the scene to be Sunset picking up a montage exactly what their powers are doing from their thoughts.
  19. Probably Derpy/Ditzy. I've seen good ships with Blueblood, Flash, Bulk Biceps (I think), and of course Dr Whooves. I can't think of any other pony with ships I like
  20. It's always fun to see the blind reactions to a lot of the big episodes (and often big reveals). Crusaders of the Lost Mark, Slice of Life, and recently Perfect Pear, are just so much fun to see peoples expressions.
  21. In my opinion, the show is best when it's focusing on the relationships between characters. All the combinations between the mane 6 have been explored pretty thoroughly over the past several years, but there's a whole host of side characters relatively untouched. What's so great about this season is that instead of focusing yet again on the intra-Mane-6 stories, they're branching out to look at the Mane 6 and other characters like Maud. Not that I don't think there are Mane 6 stories left to tell, but widening their network creates all kinds of new possibilities. I'd rather see that then have them make bad episodes because they're trying to fill a quota.
  22. What are some of your favorite books? That'll help a lot in good recommendations. Also, if you're need a picture of a pony, this or this might help.
