I made my OCs to be part of the show's events right from the start. I hope I can make a fanfic series about them some day. Sparks and Luciola are a pair of unicorn twins who are members of the royal guard and get involved in lots of adventures in the background of the show. They pretty much play a part offscreen in most of FiM's major events. I got the idea for most of their adventures from little details, throwaway lines by the characters and the unexplored background mythos of the FiM universe. I'm not the kind of fan who makes OCs just for the sake of it, I always come up with stories and expand the universe with a cast of new characters having their own adventures which sometimes intersect with the canon characters and events.

Asking my opinion of Zecora is like asking Rainbow Dash what her opinion on the Wonderbolts is... Zecora is best pony, she's kind, mysterious, speaks in rhymes and looks cool. What's not to love? *Ahem*

I've only read the first two main arcs, but so far I'm really not impressed. Am I the only one who doesn't like those comics? The writing is really lacking interesting stories, it's filled with in-your-face forced shout-outs and background references, the characterisation is really weak compared to the show and the comics jump the shark several times for absolutely no reason. Seriously, the Chrysalis arc has the mane six fall for the old "turning against each other" trick that discord pulled, for moronic reasons. They know they're going up against shape-shifter who can impersonate them, yet instantly fall for it. The brony cave troll gag was supposed to be witty, but just felt incredibly awkward and forced. Most of the trouble that the ponies got into was pointless padding with shark jumping after shark jumping. Worse part is, the story didn't lead anywhere and there was no fresh and new moral to it. Then there's the Nighmare Rarity arc. Filled with pointless padding, Luna has shitty characterisation, the Nightmare Forces are a complete asspull and actually manage to make Luna seem dull and uninteresting, the whole evil plan make no sense, and the interactions between Luna and the Ponyvillians punches a massive plot hole in Luna eclipsed. I don't know if the later issues get better, but from what I've seen, these comics really fail to deliver.

I'm gonna cut you some slack because Zecora is your best pony, but if you have a problem with Milky Way, I suggest you review your morals and priorities. Just because something is lewd doesn't mean it's wrong.

This is the main reason I keep putting off writing my fanfic. I have an idea for an epic fanfic spinoff series taking place at the same time as FiM, with a cast of OCs. I want it to be filled with continuity nods and expand the background mythology of the show, but I'm absolutely terrified that the upcoming season(s) will completely ruin my carefully constructed fanon. I'm a big fan of elsewhere fics. What I love most about fanfiction is constructing a story that weaves seamlessly with the canon without disturbing anything, and it's incredibly hard to do when the fic is based a work that isn't finished yet.

No, trust me. I've seen pictures and I'm not squeamish in the slightest when it comes to questionable pony fan content. I'll admit, I don't really like those random OCs. They just pop out of nowhere and their popularity seems completely arbitrary.

I still have no idea who the hell Fluffle Puff is and where she came from. I really should start reading brony news more often, it took me forever to find out who Snowdrop and Button Mash were, and I still don't know who Milky Way is. Frikkin' OCs spontaneously becoming popular for no obvious reason.
