What's your favorite mythological creature?

It has got to be a Hydra for me, their such a cool mythological creature and are very adaptable to their environment, from mountains to volcanoes and oceans to jungles and every bit in between, and the cut off one head and grow two more part of a Hydra wasn't just part of Hercules, it is exactly what a Mythological Lernaean Hydra would do, Quote "Cut of one head, two more shall take it's place" A Hydra's breath and blood were so volatile that even the tracks of a Hydra would be deadly. Come on, Hydra's are awesome.

I like a lot of mythological creatures. Some of my favourites are mermaids, selkies, phoenixes and the Tuatha Dé Danann. And Changlings. In irish mythology, they are fairies that are swap with real human children. Not insect queens that sleep with your hunsband to steal his love.

I really like pegasi, unicorns, centaurs and satyrs too!

What's the difference really between fauns and satyrs?

Satyrs are very lustful and often drunk nature spirits with long ears and they have a horse like tail. They are pretty much always portrayed with big erections. They originate from Greek mythology. Fauns are forest spirits that have goat legs and horns (as is shown in the picture). They originate from Roman mythology. Unlike satyrs, fauns are more shy and quiet instead of being more extroverted and horny all the time.
These days the terms faun and satyr are mostly used interchangeably for forest creatures with animal characteristics by most people.
