What do you sleep to?

So, I was really thinking about my life recently, reminiscing and whatnot in my old age (of 21), and I can't happen to remember a time where I went to sleep without a fan going. Seriously. Whether it was an AC unit or a normal fan, I have always had a fan in my room. I turned it off the other day and no matter how hard I tried to sleep, I really couldn't, even with ASMR videos going on my computer. So I was wondering if anyone else has this weird dependence on certain noises to fall asleep.

Cheria (right) is a small town girl who was afflicted with a terrible sickness when she was very young. Meeting Sophie changed that however. She recovered almost instantly from her illness due to Sophie's magic and gained an undeniable talent with her own, and what does she do with this magic? She acts as a healer for her small town and helps the militia keep the hostile border safe. Seven years later, she's started a nation-wide relief organization after her adventure with Sophie and Friends, a great connection to the element of generosity.

I usually fall asleep watching livestreams. I also wish I had some pony plushies to comfort me but I'm currently banned from getting them. I have other stuffed stuff though. I prefer to keep one leg out from the covers so I don't overheat and usually prefer a cold environment. When I sleep, I don't dream, when I dream, I don't sleep.

I sleep with the radio on, but only if it airs a talking show because music does not help me to sleep, mainly because of the type of music it airs at this station.

I'm insomniac, so that doesn't help. But I usually fall asleep to either Heavy Metal or Punk Rock music (I know it's weird). I do however really want a plushie (to cuddle  )

Most of the time I don't need anything to sleep, and I prefer the silence.

But sometimes I listen to boring songs like this one to help me:

I need my fan on in order to sleep, I've also made a habit of opening this firework display app thing on my PC and letting it run while sleeping, the flashes are oddly calming.

It's either fireworks or the sound of rain, or even both combined with the fan.

I sometimes plug my iPod into a radio, turn it on low, and put it on shuffle or a playlist of a couple relaxing tunes before I go to bed.  And it usually stays on until my parents tell me to turn it off.

I can't sleep without music.  Usually I listen to very atmospheric/ambient music to help me go to sleep and because of that I always have very nice dreams  :)

I have to have music on, has been that way for years. I listen to an Oldies station (which has - much to my frustration - been taken over by cheesy 80s music... Can't really be called "Oldies" anymore -_-) which I also pretty much always have on in the background.

I actually sleep in silence. If there was noise, then it would probably keep me awake.

If I ever have trouble sleeping. I play a CD very softly. I'm usually asleep by the third or forth song. Before I got married I used to play the TV all night with the sound down. One has to adapt!

Central Air/Heating noises. There's also a certain type of cricket that comes out in the late summer and hangs around til' pretty well into fall and i love hearing them. Not sure if it's because of where i live that they hangout or what, but i enjoy the sound. Fans are ok, Music can sometimes make me fall asleep it's gotta be real smooth. Thunder and rain are ok, but i can't stand when thunder is right in my face. It's like yo i wanna sleep, just be far away.

I used to like to sleep with some kind of noise while going to sleep, but after music started making me grumpy in the morning, I just stuck with the noise that my ceiling fan makes. I then later came across this news video:

which suggests that noise machines in general are kinda bad for you, so I'm not too sure I want to be doing anything bad to myself lol. Then again, while there isn't music playing in nature, there is the soft rustling of leaves, ocean waves, wind, etc. so I'm sure that quiet calm noises should be fine to listen and go to sleep to. The thing that actually tells your brain that it is time to sleep is the lack of blue light and the presence of dark or dim-red light, while the presence of bright blue light tells your brain to stay awake. Nocturnal animals have this same process in reverse, so they go to sleep when it is bright out.
