Scanned it myself something like 15 years ago when I got my first scanner. It's off of a box of Kim Possible Valentine's Day cards. It's the only avatar I've used in all that time.

It has been essentially the same story with all of my avatars here. First I decide which character should appear on my next avatar. Then I watch random MLP clips (or in some cases, clips of the most recent episode or special) until I get a screenshot of the character I picked that I like enough. What makes this slightly more difficult is that I don't want to use scenes that are too well-known, to avoid picking an avatar that's already in use.

At first, I only intended on making his fur a more slightly tanned color, but his cream yellow fur seemed a bit easier to work with. As for the mane, I like long hair and I thought silver looked like a cool color for him. Originally, I was going to have him be an earth pony, but I chose to have him be a unicorn because I like the idea of performing magic
