What have you done today?

I went shopping as soon as I got up, and since I was shopping for six people, getting all those groceries into a Smart car wasn’t terribly easy. Once I got home and put everything away, I took a shower, opened my mail and had some cold coffee. I’ve been hanging out with assorted family the rest of the time, and actually looking at possible Halloween costumes…in May. Yeah, weird.

Took down the Helm Compact 2 tent I had in the back yard for a few days, before it rains again, it's new so was a test, I like it a lot so that's what I'll be using this year mostly I think. Can also chuck a tarp over it for extra shelter. I also repacked the furniture, and the cooking items into their stuff sack so ready for next time.

  • 3 weeks later...

I came to the village, weeded the potato beds, then hill potatoes, weeded other beds, watered tomatoes, washed in the banya. I did a lot of things, but I was planning to do something else.

Hardly anything, but I guess it wasn't completely unproductive.

Reviewed the airman certification standards for flight instructors, built a lesson plan/scenario that one could give to a student, all while running a flight in the background on FS2004. JFK, New York to Incheon, Seoul. (x4 speed since I don't really like having the computer run on the sim for 16 hours straight anymore).

Then mostly just.... doing nothing...

  • 2 months later...

In the morning I started doing a workout (I trained my abs and legs). From 9 am to about 10:30 am. Then I decided to go to the forest-steppe and run. I ran about 5 miles (8.05 km). I got a few calluses because I was running in rubber slippers and I also didn’t take water with me. The temperature outside was about 30°C. It was hard considering these factors and the fact that I last ran more than a year ago. I came home at 12 o’clock. I tried to rest for 2 hours but I couldn’t rest. According to the plan, I was going to do pull-ups, push-ups and train my neck. I did it. In general, I spent about 6 hours on a workout that day. I haven’t been this tired for a long time. Because of running, I was constantly thirsty, so I drank two 1.5 liter bottles of water. In the evening I read a book and will continue reading again soon. I wanted to draw today but I have no ideas. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow. That day I decided to use my phone less and not watch YouTube. I did that. That day I spent about 30 minutes on my phone. That's a win for me.

Today I ran about 6 miles (9.66 km) in 1 hour 5 minutes. I didn't want to run today, but because of a little stress I decided to run. This time I took water. The temperature was also about 30°C like last time. The blister on my foot was a hindrance, so this time I took off my rubber slippers and ran barefoot on the grass. Then I did some leg stretching. In 2 hours I'll start doing pull-ups and push-ups, then I'll work on my neck. I also chopped wood for the banya stove today. While I was chopping wood, a big piece of wood flew into my face.

Crap! :o  Safety glasses, maybe? (But no I would not have thought of that either.)

Put duck tape (or is it duct tape?) over a gap in a window frame to stop it moaning as wind blows through.

Normally I would have left it (ventilation!) but the sound was annoying the t!ts off me

I think I finished my painting. I'll know for sure when I can see it tomorrow in better light. I don’t know how long it’s been since I started it; two months maybe, but it’s now (hopefully) done. Usually it takes me a good five months to complete a painting so I’m very happy about it.

Did some work for Labor Day that involved cleaning the bathroom sink and mirror.  Even wiped down the bench where I put my stuff.
