How do you feel about season 6 being more about exploration?

Judging by this article on EQD, (http://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/01/exploring-equestria-is-new-theme-of.html) it seems season 6 will finally satiate that hunger for exploration I know some bronies (myself included) are craving. Now note I took this 100% at face value and have no clue of it's authenticity.

How do you feel about this? Do you like the idea of exploration? Do you want it to be like current episodes and stick with the SoL-type explorations like "Made in Manehatten", or the adventure-type ones like "Griffonstone"? Or perhaps you would rather keep it in and around Ponyville? (to each their own I guess)

I'd like a healthy mix of all of it. I love the adventures, the slice of lifes, the quests to far off lands, and the hanging out in Ponyvilles. More episodes in the other towns/lands - sure! Because the Mane 6 can be awesome anywhere. And if I get my wish, they'll all go to the human world in EG4 for daring double duelings, but that's just me.  :please:

I like exploration episodes because we get to see new areas and learn a thing or two more about Equestria's history.

I love depth, and exploration is a wonderful way to get it. The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone is one of my favorite episodes because of this! I've been so curious about where Griffons came from ever since Gilda in season 1. Now just to explore the Zebra Homeland!
I really hope we get to explore lots of new places in season 6. <3

It's a simple premise in a show that could use more settings than the same 2-3 locations. I'm all for it

I'm meh about it. If they handle it like they did with Griffinstone im not excited. I have seen enough from Manehattan as well. Wanna bet we see Appleloosa again? Meh. It cant get worse than this three Cutie Mark Map Episodes, though.

Anxious, and scared, kinda itchy. How many times have we seen an adventure episode rise above a pedestrian non-issue in a generic location? I sincerely hope this doesn’t turn out to be a pony equivalent of a traveling TV dude that roams across Europe in search of culinary and cultural gems like hákarl and lace making … Not that I have anything against such programs. Despite what SJWs would have you believe, we European patriarchal white capitalist pigs have quite a diverse array of customs and traditions, many of which are far more interesting than anything MLP writers have come up with inside the show.

At first I was tempted to write about non-pones, but deep down we all know this is going to be all about different pony locales inside Equestria, all plagued with various friendship problems, and the chances are we’ve already seen most of them one way or another. If you cannot come up with something that can visually attract your audience, then it’s not worth worldbuilding. I’m looking at you generic big pony cities #1-6.

Yes, I am salty as a pretzel, but can you blame me?

While I don't expect to explore as much we wanna see, because the show length won't allow it, I'm all for seeing new places, cultures, and ponies. Maybe we'll see more Daring Do, beyond Equestria, and of course: BAT PONEH  :D

I think it's fine, but honestly, I really hope they don't just start randomly adding cities and/or more additional kingdoms out of nowhere, rendering the current map worthless yet again.

Also, it would be nice if we actually got some information on locations outside of Equestria.

I love it. We get more world-building, more cutie map episodes, more characters, and more new adventures of our favorite ponies.

You took the words right out of my mouth.... Some more world development was given in season 5. And while I would be sad about losing some of the slice of life episodes. I would like to know more about Equestria's history which is so vague that everything that happened was long time ago or 1000 years ago. What I don't want to see however is them forcing in a battle sequence every episode or creating a plot that doesn't have a lot of connections with the previous episodes (Like introducing a new villain every episode to fight rather than keeping a villain or group of villains all season).

Another thing I wouldn't want to see is filler adventure episodes which serve no purpose but to entertain kids while they wait for the next big bit of character development or story.

But as long as they focus a lot more on the history of Equestria and Character Development rather than fights, This could be a great season.

I feel as though this is a "make it or break it" sort of thing.

The idea that more of Equestria will be explored to feed our curiosity is a great way to go, but if executed wrong, it could really hurt the show. All of season 5 episodes shared similar life lessons that were focused by two things "how the past affects the present..and what you choose to do with it" and "Secondary characters getting more spotlight" (despite the darn fact the finale basically proved they are still helpless without the mane 6).......However, at the same time, the Season 5 episodes were......EVERYWHERE. Which is odd to say since previous seasons  were everywhere as well, but it was something about this Season that took it to another level that didn't appeal to me as much as the others.  :okiedokielokie:

I don't want the same for Season 6. Despite some badly written episodes throughout the series, I have high hopes the writers will make a better Season ESPECIALLY with the growing expectations of the fans. Everyone including me are seemingly excited that we will see more of Equestria...and because of our high expectations on this being an awesome season since we are getting something we've been wanting...any mistake made or any bad episode could take the show downhill....just a little though. Because regardless, it's making money xD

So all in all, I'm up for it!! :squee:  but I'm going to keep my expectations and excitement for Season 6 under control to avoid getting TOO critical over any imperfections I'm sure we'll see.  :P

I'm generally fine with this. To be honest we're probably still going to have half of the episodes set in Ponyville and the others are going to be similar to the other SoL stories that are set out in other places or have more map missions like Made in Manehatten, so this theme is probably the least intrusive.  Only thing is that those episodes might have some set up and exposition problems, like in Trade Ya where they had to explain everything to the audience to make sure nobody was lost.

I'm all for it. Some of the best episodes are when they travel to new and exciting locations, especially since it's been years since that official map was revealed. That way, when they do have an episode that takes place in Ponyville, it'll feel like a return to home.

Plus, I still want them to travel to Hollow Shades at some point. (Unless that place in Sompony To Watch Over Me was Hollow Shades, then I'm good.)

I like this idea of exploration and I do hope they make the most of it by adding some amazing scenery. BUT I do want to have some episodes focusing on some other things. I mean yeah I like the serious episodes but the normal slice of live ones I do want those to stay.

Wasn't Season 5 the exploration season?

Anyways, I'd like Season 6 have more exploration and map episodes than Season 5. I still want the SoL episodes and stuff like that, but more exploration would be great.
