spoiler Traditional, Original, or Fast: What would YOUR cart be?

With the new episode being wrapped up, we can discuss something inspired by it! In the episode, the CMC's wanted to make a cart to qualify for one of 3 different awards; Fastest, being the iwnner, Most original, best original design and Most Traditional, basically one that is best designed around the old style of carts in Equestria.

 

 

This makes me think, if you were going to design a cart for this derby, what would YOURS be for? What category would you design yours for? You can also share what design you would use too if you wish.

 

I would go for original design. I would love to make something video game themed or even space themed. ^-^

Well, after seeing all three types of go carts I would probably go for most creative.

 

the reason I'd choose this category is because I enjoy thinking up ideas and trying to make them a reality.

 

It's too bad my talents lie in writing and not building though.

I would probably go with most original. It would be pretty cool to design a video game themed type of cart. It would be also pretty awesome to make a cart based on a vehicle from a video game.

Gonna have to go with the fastest cart here. It is a race after all, and coming in 1st should be everyones top priority. 

 

I feel that the episode should have split the derby into 3 separate events. Having all 3 ribbons being awarded at the end of the race feels a bit weird to me. Everyone shouldn't be forced to race if their cart wasn't built for racing. RD & Scoots could have been participants in the race since they were in the speed category. Rarity and Sweetie could have been in the originality contest, and AJ & AB in the traditionalist contest. Just my $0.02

That's a very good question, btw! I'd certainly not try to go for the fastest, I'm not a fan of high speeds myself. Most traditional sounds interesting, trying to make something old with a new spin would be a fun challenge. However, I think I'd aim for most creative too, since it gives the most creative freedom~ Being a Starcraft geek, I'd make a Protoss-themed cart.

I'd go fast, I'm not the most creative type when it comes to design, so original would be out - and traditional doesn't have a huge amount of interest for me - but I do gotta need for speed

I think I'd go for fast. I love the adrenaline rush of traveling at high speed! I'm not all that artistic so I don't stand a chance in originality. Traditional would just prevent me from going fast and I feel like the winning cart in the traditional category would just look the same every year...

I pick speed, because it's fun to go fast, and I like trying to throw sciency stuff on practical problems like this.

Sure, I'll probably fail horribly, but at least it worked in theory.

I'd go for a mix of the three with a focus on speed. Mostly because I get a little competitive when it comes to competitions where you have to build things. I'd get the fastest engine I could afford and spend the rest on Junkyard parts. Maybe get a couple bottles of spray paint and add a logo of my OC's cutie mark on the front and sides. It'd be a fun little project.

I think original would be the most fun, although I'm not quite sure what I'd do. If I were racing against the other people on this thread, though, I'd go for traditional, because I'd have no competition.
