Well it at least sounds more interesting than PPOV, and it will be nice to have an Applejack episode that has nothing to do with Rarity as their last episode proved their dynamic can't carry an episode. With this episode, Applejack Season, and her key episode it seems that hospitals and injured ponies seem to be a common trend in her episodes.

Ooh, this sounds interesting, and if it's done right this can come off as a really funny episode.

 

But for the love of God, could we please stop with all of the Apple Bloom episodes?! For those of you not keeping count, factoring in the season six episodes, "Where the Apple Lies" makes this the twenty-seventh episode Apple Bloom has starred in, and the forty-first episode overall that she has appeared in. The remaining fourteen episodes have her making a cameo. Could we please get some more Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo episodes? I'm sure Claire Corlett and Madeline Peters would appreciate their characters getting more episodes. What's with these writers and their love for Apple Bloom? Yes, she's adorable, but as one user already said, she's gotten kind of bland. Yes, "On Your Marks" was a good episode, but it was once again another Apple Bloom episode. You could literally swap her with Sweetie or Scootaloo and virtually nothing would have to be changed.

not too excited about this tbh. Applejack episodes focusing around her family have a tendency to be mediocre at best, so not expecting much. Especially since I think that applebloom is, by far, the weakest of the CMC, being pretty bland compared to sweetie belle and scoots.

I'm hopeful we'll get some information about AJ's parents, but I doubt it

 

 

That being said, this syncs up well with the IDW comic's explanation for AJ's aversion to lying in the pigasus comic, where she talks about not ever wanting to lie because someone always pays a price at some point.

I agree, and they'll never do anything like that. It would be darker than anything most live-action dramas would even consider revealing about a main character, let alone a Y-7 rated animated TV series.

 

The only thing that even comes close is Simba feeling guilty over his father's death since Scar made him think it was his fault. But to make a backstory where a child's lie actually led to both parents dying as a direct result of it - that's more grimdark than a lot of fanfics!

I think it's possible they will address Applejack's parents without mentioning death. That way, the older audiences would get it but would fly over kids' heads. They already did this in Cutie Mark Chronicles and Tanks for the Memories.

Episode itself, sounds good. But at the same time, it Apple family time and i just hoped we would get less of it.

Agreed. Although AJ being responsible for their death is out of the question, I'd love it if her parents actually made an appearance in the flashback from when they were still alive.

 

Having said that, I'm still not confident they will because the show seems to be nervous about revealing them due to the implications of where they are now.

 

OTOH, They may be forced to mention them though if the flashback takes place before Apple Bloom is born. I mean, they can't be dead before they gave birth to her, unless she's some kind of zompony offspring. XD

Man, I am pretty much desperate for this episode not to disappoint, and unfortunately, season 6 has left me disappointed far more often than not. 

 

I really hope whatever Applejack supposedly lies about, it's well-intentioned and not malicious. But the notion that it goes as far as to nearly put her whole family in the hospital has me more than a bit worried...

Honestly I don't know why the writers love giving Applebloom so much attention. She's no where near as interesting as the other two CMC yet she's gotten more than double of what the other two have combined in terms of episodes. This sounds like a very interesting episode. It's really cool how we get to learn something from Applejack's past. I also like that we get to see how she valued honesty to where she uses it to this day. I also wonder if this will take place after she obtained her cutie mark, during the flashback in the episode, "The Cutie Mark Chronicles." All in all the episode sounds pretty awesome and I look forward to seeing it.

The concept sounds a lot more interesting than the average Apple episode but goddamn Im starting to outright resent Apple Bloom, it's insane that she gets like 2 or 3 episodes a season while Sweetie and Scootaloo haven't gotten a single episode since Season 4. And only have 2 total each.

Seriously every damn season she seems to get at least 2 episodes, other than 3 of course because short season.

 

 

Hell last season I think she had almost as many speaking roles as Fluttershy, and probably more starring roles (and definitely more than Spike)

That's funny because if there's an Applejack episode I want Rarity involved heavily in it's this one, their the only two who grew up in Ponyville, I want to see if they knew each other and what their relationship was.

I think its because Applebloom is the defacto "leader" of the cmc, so the writers feel obligated to give her more focus.

Personally, Pinkie Pie and Rarity mixed much better than Rarity and Applejack.  But that's just me.
