If you ruled your country, how would you deal with human-alien romances?

Say, if you are the king, prime minister, or president of your country. And in your country there are people who either have romantic relations with extra-terrestrials, or who married and had offspring with extra-terrestrials.

My policy for this would be to restrict it only to aliens that are more "human-like", and only to their existing communities within my countries (if they were around for at least a century or more, and if they were already doing human-alien romances and offspring not with force).

All other aliens would be banned from romance or offspring with my human citizens, as I consider that to be closer to disgusting bestiality.

What about you? How would you deal with human-alien romances, if you became the rule of your country?

Jesus, what a question.

If I became ruler of my country I would have to kinda agree with you in the sence of them being human like since there is the line that I guess for safe for work forum reasons we can call animal romance. But as well as how they look you would have to take into account sentience and their understanding of the human condition. This along with reproduction makes this a difficult question ot outright answer without really knowing much about the potential extra terestrials that would arrive on earth. Although taking this all into consideration and assuming that in order for romantic relationstips to insue both races understand eachother and are on the same level consciously I see no reason to have anything against it. Let people do as they may I suppose.

I would have a laissez faire approach to the whole thing. If people weren't hurting other people and this wasn't some kind of relationship that would harm or wound either species, I would have better things to worry about. Like which room i left my keys in at the white house.

Is said alien species intelligent enough to consent, and of proper sexual age, and all participants are of course willing? Then it's allowed. I don't care if said alien looks like a human with green skin, or if they look like a magical cartoon horse, there's no reason for me to outlaw it. The important aspect is the mind, the physical body and appearance don't matter nearly as much, even if I found the concept of relationships with a certain species gross, personal feelings do not give me the right to dictate others lives in that manner.

I would have to build a wall. A space wall. Those aliens are coming over here, taking our jobs. They're rapists, they're criminals. Earth first.

Do whatever you want, as long as you're not doing stuff with alien kids or anything else abhorrent like that. Basically the same rules we have with each other.

Why should I care who and what wants to get their freak on with each other? If they are able to communicate and consent with each other, they are free to do as they please as far as I am concerned. I would imagine I would have a hell of a lot larger problems as ruler of Earth than who is romancing whom.

If the aliens would be sentient enough, I would allow it. I also would contact their leader and discuss with them what they think about it.(if they have one)

If they weren't sentient, they would be considered animals and that wouldn't be accepted.

-Edit- and for the offspring, if it was possible without any problems, it would be aright too.

As long as it's consented and talked out before hand, I'd say let the inter-planetary couple get together. And if they have any offspring, give them the same rights as their parents do!

Are they able to communicate? Are they consenting adults?

If the answer to both questions is yes, they can do whatever they want and have the same rights as everyone else to boot. A pansexual homoromantic trans woman with polyamorous tendencies would hardly do well to forbid forms of love when they appear.

Same way I see it with whatever thing in real life. I will consider it wrong if it causes relevant and objective inevitable inconveniences.
I divide this "moral struggle" in couples, sex and reproduction matter (since it pretty much implies three things except for very few cases):

-If the offspring of such couple will be genetically weaker the same way it happens between close relatives of one same species, then I'd ban reproducing that way.
-If there's an inevitable STD that can't be cured I'd probably think it's wrong to let those couples exist but this would get problematic considering some might want to have a partner without intercourse, and you can't prove how that's gonna end. So in this case I couldn't help but allow it and afford the consequences.
-I can't imagine any specific social struggle from the fact of couples formed by two different intelligent species and how that would affect the offsprings. I would need to have a more detailed explanation of the case in particular to see if it seems good or bad.

In other words, I would have nothing against it unless it has really serious and inevitable problems. I wouldn't forbid it just because I would find it "disgusting" like some say though. I find homosexuality disgusting but I wouldn't forbid it if I was a leader because that's not my bussiness and it doesn't have anything objectively and necessarily wrong.

Allow it to happen as long as they sign a contract allowing scientists to carry out minor research every now and then, just check ups, questionnaires, access to relevant medical records, occasional poke with a science stick, you know, simple stuff.
