ZethaPonderer 2,199 March 29, 2018 Share March 29, 2018 *Sarcasm* Alpha, Beta, Omega Males. Boring. I’m a Zeta Male. I can choose to be all 3 of those things whenever I feel like it. :3 *Sarcasm* Also, I found this video called Adam Ruins Everything from TruthTV where he tries to debunk the whole concept of classifying Humans as Alpha/Beta/Omega/Zeta. Realistically people classify themselves as Alpha/Beta/Omega/Zeta cause they’re too simple-minded about the complex nature of what it means to be a Human Being. That and the concept might stem from some people’s insecurities.
Kaidyn 212 March 29, 2018 Share March 29, 2018 Honestly, everyone has already said it but there's no such thing. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses regardless if you're male or female. Anybody can fit whatever definition of Alpha, Beta, or whatever title you want to throw on them based on some convoluted definition that society has randomly come up with. What matters most is who that person wants to be and how they go about achieving that.

Yakamaru 3,127 March 29, 2018 Share March 29, 2018 Ah yes, beta males. Some change their personality based on other people's opinions(because of a lack of their own personality). Some lack assertiveness. Some are physically weak. Some are mentally weak. Some attack alphas because they tend to get all the women/men. Some cower when being criticized. A lot more potential factors could make up a beta male.A mix of them too. “Discovery is dangerous . . . but so is life. kaiser5578 340 April 1, 2018 Share April 1, 2018 Personally I hold the belief that both terms are quite primitive. Why are such things still a need or a way of being? The alpha male is a steriotypical brute that strives for power and females, while the beta is a submissive coward. i think that as humans: male and female, should strive rather to be intellectual equals that while not trying to take power and dominance. They should also not submit to the will of others, rather they should strive to find the deepest reaches of their potential and intellect only accessible to those unhendered by such primal instinct. Vulcan 3,254 April 1, 2018 Share April 1, 2018 I assume you mean the stereotypical definitions... Big brawny guys and the ones who aren't.... And honestly, I don't know how to feel about this... On one hand I'm always a promoter of regular excercise and good health but on the other I also want people to be themselves and be happy. I guess it all comes down to how any single individual feels about themselves... And if there's something that they can and want to change not just physically but in all aspects like emotionally, spiritually or otherwise. They shouldn't let fear or apathy dictate their life and choices and They should do what they can to be who they want to be, even if it's one step at a time. Earl Grey Ghost 446 April 2, 2018 Share April 2, 2018 (edited) Despite scientific evidence and years of study? Hm. Alright then, to each their own. To everyone else: Yes, I agree, the terms are extremely outdated. What happens I think is... 1. Thing seems to be happening 2. Someone names or labels the thing 3. People get used to that thing and it's label 4. Society changes 5. People take another look at the thing, and either dismiss it or re-evaluate/re-name it 6. Some people don't budge on it, holding to older terms because it's been done for so long/or it's easier for them By the way this was not an underhanded sarcastic shot at Yakamaru, that is merely my opinion on how society goes and the opinion on the topic at hand. Dreambiscuit 9,934 April 3, 2018 Share April 3, 2018 Alpha, Beta or whatever. I don't care as long as everyone is who they are on the inside. Being a beta male isn't a bad thing. In many cases it's a good thing. Being true to yourself is what's important. I've known many alpha guys and many beta guys too. They all have their own unique traits that make them who they are. Pretending or putting on a false facade for any reason is pointless and silly. The only thing that's unimpressive is falsehood. I'm good with anyone who is real.
EpicEnergy 23,220 February 1, 2020 Share February 1, 2020 Beta males should strive to be who they really are, and if who they really are aligns with the concept of a beta male, that is perfectly fine in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with being yourself. *totally not up to any shenanigans*
Prospekt 11,018 February 1, 2020 Share February 1, 2020 The concept is primitive, sexist garbage with no place in modern society. If one is an introverted pacifist with a non-aggressive temperament, that does not them any less of a man. It does not make them a coward. And it certainly doesn't mean that they are weak. This is the same thing as the "soy boy" nonsense perpetuated by the hyper-masculine right wing. 3 Signature by Kyoshi
The Kaeya Simp 13,989 February 1, 2020 Share February 1, 2020 Well human social structure changes depending on the activity, for example, in the gym a "chad" would be an alpha, and a "soy boi" would be a beta, but in dungeons and dragons for example, the order would be usually reversed
Fluttershutter 2,499 February 1, 2020 Share February 1, 2020 The whole thing is meaningless. If there's alpha and beta I think I'm omega. Outside of society. Ω
ZethaPonderer 2,199 February 4, 2020 Share February 4, 2020 (edited) There’s no such thing as beta, alpha, omega, or zeta males. Vice versa for females as well. Dr. L. David Mech was the man responsible for coining these terminologies when researching about wolves and how they as a pack rise from the top. For all you insecure men and women out there get wrecked. If we’re still going to roll with the idea then I might as well be a Zeta Male. Cause screw being full on alpha, beta, or omega. I can be any of the 3 whenever I feel like it. joanro 247 February 5, 2020 Share February 5, 2020 (edited) I think everyone has a different opinion of what they define an alpha male to be. I personally consider an alpha male to be someone who is a leader. Someone who is confident and assertive. Someone who does not have to put others down to make himself feel better. I don't think being aggressive or being buff have anything to do with being an alpha male. I think we should all strive to be better men and women. Oblivion 20,267 February 6, 2020 Share February 6, 2020 I'm going to go off on a limb and say yes, being alpha does not mean being a macho jackass as much as it at least to me means standing up for what is right, shunning what is wrong and never easily losing your values over silly criticism etc. That what being alpha to me means, so yes, both men and women should strive to be alphas in that regard and don't let others get you down based on mere words.
Samurai Equine 51,964 February 6, 2020 Share February 6, 2020 I agree with everyone who says there is no such thing as betas or alphas. As it was put best on Adam Ruins Everything, people are complex, and anyone can have an "alpha moment" or a "beta moment" depending on the situation. Sometimes people are just jerks; sometimes kindness and peaceful solutions are more powerful than any show of brute force or violence, etc. It really speaks to how humans really want to believe that everything in the world, including humans and behavior, can be explained or categorized in simple terms. But they just can't. It would do the world, it's long history, and our many ancestors a HUGE disservice to assume so.

What I can say, being a person what the community calls "alpha" and "beta" is a result of something. If someone "falls" into "beta moment" that can be because of many emotional hurt or just simply tired of the role of the "alpha" (workplace stress, many responsibility...etc.). Do not judge someone, because "people are complex", you can't know what they are went thought that led them into their current "setup". 1 Ask me

Olly 1,011 February 6, 2020 Share February 6, 2020 Chad Thundercock is 6'11 and has an IQ of 3. His muscles are bigger than your head and he pulls all the bimbos. He's so alpha that he lives entirely off raw meat and is literally incapable of being cordial and friendly, because only betas and guys who eat soy-based food are nice.
