I sometimes to go my elementary school which isn’t too far a walk from here. It’s peaceful and comforting sitting on a bench there at night. I doubt there’s anyone else that does that too at my school.

Yall?

No I don't. My elementary schools and middle school are located six hours away from where I live in a different state, so it's been years since I've even seen them. My high school is just a few miles away from my house, but its in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields and on a road that's heavily traveled with no sidewalk. The last time I was at my high school was for my graduation in June of 2019. I pretty much never leave my bedroom though

I visited my first elementary school recently—a lot of kids were hanging around despite quarantine.

When I pass all my old schools, I feel nostalgic. But I get nostalgic over a lot of things. :coco:

Not any more. I used to visit my old middle school while I was in High School, and I used to live just down the street from my High School and did visit it a few times after I graduated before I moved a few years back.

I never visit my old schools. I wouldn’t want to do so any more than a prisoner would want to visit his old cell. School was hell to me and I would never want to go back and revive any of the bad memories associated with it.

When I was younger, I would visit my elementary school every year with a friend of mine. I have never revisited any of my other schools. But since I live relatively close to two of them, I do get to see them often from outside.

When my best friend and I finished secondary school, we decided to visit our old primary school. Although it was the middle of the school day, they let us walk around and visit our old classrooms. We chatted with our old teachers and visited all of our old hang out spots. Not much had really changed. Even the metal clothes peg I bent out of a fit of rage back in Year 4 was still there. :muffins:

I used to visit my elementary school when my mom was still teaching there, but other than that I just drive by all the schools now and reminisce about how these were good times and then think about how old I am now.

I often walk through my first school's territory because it's right behind my house.

Does it counts?

I walk by the playground every now and then. I have entered the school during summer, to see what has changed over the years, and had a chat with some old teacher there. So yes.

My elementary school is only 2 mins away from my home. So I do visit there, but only at the playground. I kinda wish I could go inside and walk down the memory lane; bad or good. My high school I did also and few things has changed.

sigh..Yeah I missed my youth.

Not regularly. I haven't been to my middle school since we visited in my senior year of high school. The most recent time I went to my high school was four years ago for a ten year marching band reunion, and I hadn't seen it for years before that. I visited my first university four years ago for a special double reed event, but that's the only time I've been there in between 2013 and now. And then, with my alumni university I should have gone to see the freshman class when I started play one of their last wind ensemble concerts, but I never got around to it. The pandemic didn't help matters. I have been to that town a couple of times since graduating, though.

When I'm in the area of my old town then I'll sometimes go look at my elementary, middle, or high school. We still mostly meet up at one friend's place and he still lives with his parents, then we'll walk to a nearby store that usually takes us past our middle school, and the high school isn't too far off from there. I moved in the summer after my sophomore year so finished at another high school that I've only been back to once to grab some tables or something for an event outside of it. Late last year I think I visited the first elementary school I had ever gone to because my mom was helping with a program there, and it'd been some 17 years. Was hardly recognizeable until I saw one spot where I remembered singing the Christopher Columbus song with classmates. I'd love to revisit my schools and walk the wholes just for old time's sake and maybe show my girlfriend where things happened.

I pass my old high school everyday on the way to work.

Sometimes my friend and me after eating downtown we will walk to our elementary school.   It’s turned into offices today but it hasn’t changed a bit.

Most of my old schools are out of state.

I do go to my old elementary school a few blocks away. Fonder memories. Ride my bike around the parking lot listening to music. Attend whatever community rummage sale or fund raiser they host.

Haven't been back to the middle school since I graduated. That place is a dump.

Only went to the high school last year for driving practice. Before that was when they hosted a swap meet/ craft fair years earlier and I helped my mom sell her stuff (some of it MLP related). I'm not fond of that place.

Some of my old schools are located eight hours away while others are across the Atlantic. With those latter schools though, I don't know if they are still around as it has been a couple of decades now. As such, I've not been able to visit them, the same with the ones that are eight hours away. I doubt I ever will though as some gave me unfortunate experiences both in and out of the school grounds.

I'm within walking distance of my old elementary and junior high (at the time) school. When I go for walks in my neighborhood, I either pass them or visit the grounds for a bit. I don't go in the buildings unless it's to vote in the latter one.

  • 2 weeks later...

In Ireland, we have Primary and then Secondary School. In December, they made us pick a place to work for a week and I chose my old primary school. The staff still recognised me, because I think I was the kid who annoyed the hoof out of them. :ButtercupLaugh:

I was mostly with the six and seven year olds. It was Christmas so we'd roleplay in groups as reindeer and elves. I said I'll be a reindeer and after a minute, the kids said 'You're fired.' 'What?' 'You're on the naughty list.' :(

At one point, I sat on the table watching them. I felt something next to me, I looked over and there was a Rainbow Dash toy with rainbows on her wings. I said 'Who does Rainbow Dash belong to?' One of them said 'Why do you know who that is?' I just said, 'You'll understand someday.'

Since I no longer live in the same country as where I went to school, no, I don't.  Also since my schooling years have always been a bit traumatic for me, I don't even want to revisit areas like that.  If you think it wasn't as bad as I'm saying it was, I was once sexually assaulted on a school bus and the friends of the people involved would taunt me for the rest of the school year because of it.  I absolutely do not want to go back to places where such things happened, even if I'm in a better place mentally and emotionally now.  Not to mention, I've moved so many times through my school years that I don't see the point in doing a tour through the US just to revisit my old schools.  I think the only place I'd like to go to is when I went to school in Ventura, California.  It was a good school with some great teachers and the bullying wasn't that bad there and I actually had a good circle of friends there.  Would like to see most of them again, they were good people but from what I heard from a friend I used to be in contact with, the group fell apart over time which sucks but I guess that happens with a lot of high school friend groups.
