Underrated Characters?

A sequel to my Overrated Characters thread. Which characters in FIM do you feel are underrated and deserve more love?

 

My list is as follows, in no particular order:

• Misty Fly
• Cadence
• Flurry Heart
• Discord
• Applejack
• Scootaloo
• Sassaflash and Sea Swirl (as a couple)

I don’t think this one deserves more love, but:

Zephyr Breeze. He’s an antagonistic, whiny layabout; we’re supposed to find him annoying. However, I think he’s got a unique and understandable character arc. His struggle is with feelings of inadequacy and fear of failure, and he avoids it by acting lazy and self-absorbed. He’s not a good person, but I think he’s an interesting character.

Little Stongheart from Over A Barrel was always a cool character who I wish got more appearances. The Buffalo in general I thought were interesting and I absolutely hate that they were pretty much replaced by the fucking yaks

I agree with Applejack & I would also like to add Minuette, too.

Minuette was a  *really* fun character in "Amending Fences" & I wish she had made one more appearance with a speaking role before FiM ended. 

 

I also think Suri Polomare becomes more entertaining the more I watch "Rarity Takes Manehattan".

Princess Celestia.  I think she gets a bad rap for apparently not doing much, but it actually seems she does a ton, most of which would be too boring to make an episode, comic or chapter book about.  Without her, Equestria would crumble...well, until she passed the torch on to Twilight.

Also Grogar should have actually appeared rather than Discord impersonating him, I would have loved to see the real Grogar put the other villains to shame considering how the show portrayed him as this creator of monsters just like the older MLP.

Pistachio. He's reall[y cute, and his scenes with Rarity were wonderful. I wanted to see more of him!

Pony Flash Sentry. A lot of the dislike for him comes from his human version and the vapid love-interest nature of him, but the pony version of him is a cute stallion! I would have liked to see him developed more.

I agree about Discord. The concept itself sounds amazing: god-like entity living among mortals, who can jokingly tear reality apart and the most dangerous villains are just another way to joke around for him. Yes, he's vulnerable to draining magic but still

This is unpopular opinion, but I like initial him before friendship changing, he didn't care about anything or anyone, the whole world was just a playground of him just like Sims for us. That's a really good character. Also I love him in Background Pony fanfic, his store there is so deep

I'd love to see such character in some anime, that's a genre where he will show his potential without family-friendly boundaries

Prince Blueblood. Could have been interesting to see him get a redemption arc like Gilda.

Zecora, great character but never given enough screentime.

Flash Sentry - I hated him as much as everyone at first for being a shallow love interest. He actually got better in the last couple EQG movies and I started to like him a lot more. His character never really went anywhere in the end though, I think even the creators saw him as a punchline after the backlash he received.

Princess Celestia - People constantly bash her and talk about how Luna is much better. I don't understand where all the negativity comes from.

Wow there are a lot I would say are underrated. Here are some of them:

• Fluttershy's parents
• Rainbow Dashes parents
• Soarin, Fleetfoot, and Misty Fly
• Sky Stinger and Vaportrail
• Kerfuffle
• Pickle and Barley
• Cloudchaser and Flitter
• Thunderlane and Rumble
• Clear Sky and Wind Sprint

There are more, but I don't want the list to get too long.

1. King Sombra (yes, he's still underrated by the fandom FITE ME)
2. Fleetfoot ( @Bakugou is my Man is right!)
3. Radiant Hope and Blackthorn (from the comics, so obviously underrated)

The terms overrated and underrated are vague when talking about characters, but if we are talking about the attention the fandom gives to them(comapred to how I think they deserve) and underutilized in the show, I would say that limestone pie, suri polomare, some wonderbolts and zecora deserve more attention. Probably a few more that are slipping from my mind at the moment.

Female Cloud Chaser. She maintained a few cameo appearances in the earlier seasons, including Slice of Life. Could have gotten a lot more character development.
