Well, back when I was into MLP my friends didn't care. One of my friends even dressed as Rarity while I was Fluttershy, and another one of my friends made a DIY Pinkie Pie costume for Halloween. This was in late middle school though. They weren't even into the whole MLP thing, they just did it for fun.

Originally it was two of my friends who introduced me into the show and some others got on board. Those who didn't and interacted with other fans saw that they weren't so disimilar and while throwing a few jokes about they didn't really care.

Friends I met later in life were usually surprised that I was a fan since I don't "look the part" and most didn't care because they were also into some weird thing.

For from what I remember to be the first two months, I didn’t want anypony to know about it and I’d only watch it when nopony was home. :sealed: As I got deeper and deeper into the show, that became harder and harder to maintain until finally the beans were spilled when they saw it on my Netflix. They had a confused reaction initially but nowadays, my mother and I watch it together and now she completely understands why. :mlp_please:

I only mention my family because in school, no one likes me at all and when they did somehow find it out, it gave them all the more reasons to hate me. :mlp_wat: These days, because I know that all of you on this forum are my real friends, I feel so happy that I am no longer in any way ashamed of it.

The total of like 2 friends I have didn't really care lol.  One of them is gonna go see the movie coming out in 2021 with me, not because he likes it, but because he supports my interests like I support his.

I was really afraid that someone would find out that I'm a brony in middle school, so nobody knew. Now I don't care what others would think, I have Twilight wallpaper on my phone's screen and my friends see it, usually they just go "wait, is this mlp? Lol *a few jokes*" and then don't care. Also one of my friend told me that he was a brony when he saw the wallpaper

People should not be afraid of liking something, expectations are really exaggerated. I have a classmate who draw (or drew) NSFW art and she doesn't hide it, she even talked about it, and guess what? All her friends are still with her and nobody really cares

Well I was in college when the show came out. So no one gave a flying flip. I didn’t even “tell” people. I just started wearing pony stuff.

In fact, I got tons of compliments on my brony merchandise that I would wear.

I was a 13-14 years old girl when I started watching, so most of my friends (which weren't many) couldn't care less. As my life continued, I just settled being around people who didn't care about me liking a show.

Essentially, I was "priviliged" when it came to people's opinions of me for liking MLP. But if we were to talk about being a gamer, it would be a very different situation.

In middle school, people laughed at me for wearing an MLP shirt to gym, but that was in 6th grade. For whatever reason no one seemed to care anymore once I was in 7th grade.

As for my friends, quite a few of them also like MLP and one of them had AppleJack glasses even though they are not a pony fan. My non MLP fan friends don’t seem to mind, but I don’t really talk about ponies that much, anyways.

No one cared. No one still cares.

Hell, my sister bought me Applejack and Rainbow Dash plushies which is fun.

A few years back when I was first getting into FIM, my two best friends at the time were also bronies so when I told them I liked ponies too they were of course super accepting. I've since lost contact with them and I'm older now, so I make my love for pony a lot less obvious lol. My current friends don't know that I like MLP, except for a friend of mine from work. She knows I'm a pegasister and she is too to an extent, mostly an anime girl but she informed me her favorite pony is Applejack. ^_^

Well, it didn't skikmply happen because i watched it, you may not know since well, no one knows me here XD but i'm extremely shut in. so until i found a brony fellow, no one ever knew i watched it, and it stayed that way for years. BUT, we went to vacation with a small group of freinds and at some point we got lost on internet and we ended up on an mlp video, which is not exactly the most happy mlp video, it's sorta bloody, but i commented something about like, 'it'd be weird and slightly terrifying to see fluttershy being that mad in the show'. They stared at me for a second before one of them said, 'wait, you watch mlp?'

I expected it to go further in shaming but they were in fact, just surprised. I am the type of guy that looks like he's part of a metal band so i can understand the surprise.

Even if it went pretty well, i can't forget that moment, it's embeded in my head and i don't know why, i feel bad about them knowing. I know they think nothing of it, they've known me for years, they know who i am, but somehow, i feel like it bruised the image they had of me.

So yeah, that's my experience of me being busted.:sealed:

Sorry my comments are all sorta long, just gotta get things out.

My friends initially were a bit surprised that I watch cartoons for kids, but quickly got used to me referencing MLP and other cartoons, and even started using some memes themselves. Now they I regularly get pony-related presents for my birthday, so I'm glad I've always been open about watching MLP.

One of my friends didn't think I would be the type to like something cute and pastel. But that's the only reaction I've ever gotten, the rest doesn't care much of it.

I used to have a friend who visited once a year. He noticed my pony desktop and laughed doing the whole head shaking and sighing thing. Then I enticed him into watching an episode. After that, many more episodes were watched in a row that night with him practically snatching my computer mouse from my hand to click on the next episode to watch. :arethosehands:
