Opinions of haters?

I've posted pony art on some other sites. It was inevitable that a brony hater would come and criticize. (Though they sounded more immature and unreasonable on most arguements, preferring to poke at the fact I draw ponies instead of telling me how to improve on things like shading, technique, proportioins etc etc.) It was funny when they kept repeating the flimsy 'Ponies aren't worth drawing' excuse as to why I should stop posting ponies. Funny, since ponies weren't the only thing I was drawing and posting at the time. :)

There is this kid who is a huge hater. And he is blaming me for making everyone of his friends like ponies. Its kinda annoying, considering I only got 1 of them to become bronies. Every other one did it on their own. Worse, is that he has seen 4 episodes and he still hates it. Now I cant just tell him to "go watch an episode" :P So now I just say "Haterz Gonna Hate!" Also, there are 2 kids in my school, that whenever they see me, they tel me "Generation 1 was better!" I honestly dont care, so now its become sort of a greeting that we say whenever we see eachother :)

Signature? Naw. Thats too mane stream.

If they're really your best friends, you shouldn't be afraid to tell them you like the show! If they want to slam bronies after you tell them that you're one, then they are jerks. Try to convince them that bronies deserve respect, since they (hopefully) respect you. You need to be OPEN! :)

...

I have 5 best friends: 2 are bronies, 1 is a brony supporter, 1 neutral, and the last is a BIG HATER! We just ignore him as he tries to insult us for liking ponies.

I don't get how "supporter" works. If you are a supporter, then why not get into the show? Is it someone who is not into the show but "likes the fans" or defends the fans?

He likes the brony music and shirts, and likes the fandom in general. He doesn't like the show personally, but he is very tolerant of the people who do. He also defends bronies if haters... well... HATE.

-Brony supporter right there. :)

Well, I actually have 12 friends who are bronies, but all are afraid to admit it. I had to use a reference from the show for them to pop out of their shell. A friend of mine recently found out that I was a brony, and immediately started to hate, I mean our society has the law that anything "girly" is stupid, and men who enjoy "girly" acts or objects are twisted, insane, or freaks. What the heck happened to society? I could remember a time when it was okay for guys to watch "girly" shows. What about Foster's home of Imaginary Friends? That show was okay I guess. I kind of wish I saw it more. But nonetheless, society needs to know that we have the right to like whatever we like for whatever reason.

You used the word "fundies", which is severely overused and I can't even take it seriously because it sounds like "fun" and "undies". Sounds like someone is not particularly Poe's Law-savvy.

The really sad thing is I didn't even take that post seriously because I was laughing my a$$ off at the word "fundies"

Heh, heh, fundies...

Anyway, I actually haven't met any haters yet. This is the only forum I'm on, and I don't even have an account on Youtube yet so yeah...

The only thing close to a hater is my mother but she only teases me and my brother about it. Oh well, I'll convert her someday...

Actually, most of my experiences with haters have been fine. I view myself as a reverse-troll, feeding off their attempts to feed off my butthurt, if that makes any sense. Although the greatest moment was when I was playing Black Ops with a Pony emblem against a whole enemy clan who were being haters. I destroyed them in a match of Search and Destroy, went 19-0 against them, and carried my team, which was as usual made up of idiots. After the match the guys said that they'd never judge a guy with a pony emblem ever again, and that I was actually pretty cool. One of them even added me as a friend.  I forgot about him for a while, but two weeks later he joined me in a lobby, and the first thing he said to me was.... The fun has been doubled. And guess what princess was his emblem now? All of his friends had become bronies too, so I had made 6 haters into bronies just by being a good player. It was quite a victory.

Well actually I don't really think I've had to come face to face with any since I'm a closet brony, but I have overheard groups of people at school talking about MLP in a bad way, infact one of them is one of my only friends. So yeah another reason why I'm a closet brony.

I haven't had to confront any though, mostly because I'm a closet brony and I don't bring it up or start fights online really.

so many closet bronies on here, anyways i havent met too many haters in real life but every hater i have met i have converted and that makes a total of 3 , is it sad i wish i could meet more?

i mean my parents were generally OK with it my dad doesn't understand it but he doesn't think any less of me, my mom thinks its fun and my sister and brother like getting me pony stuff, the only real hater that i still deal with is my cousins dad in which my cousin was one of the haters i converted you see he lives in Arizona and i live in Texas, Zack came down to Texas to visit for 3 months, upon me openly telling him about the show and that i was a brony he kept asking if i was a faggot or if i was gay or if "i was sure i wasn't gay" eventually after me just either ignoring his questions, saying I'm not gay and because I have gay friends asking whats wrong with it if i was gay, he finally caved and tried watching an episode in which he began to love it. when the 3 months were up his dad came down to stay for a week and then take him home, needless to say his dad wasn't happy, and I had also thought that for a man that was such a "good christian" that was always saying people should be treated equally he kept telling me he isn't going to have his son watch gay pony shit still to this day zack wakes up in the morning and catches an episode before his dad gets up.

November 5, then March 28? AppleJack20 is a necroposter! And I was, like, thinking of getting away from here until the actual show started up again in Season 4.

And then I got an email alert of this quote.

Hey, i decided to make a video explaining my opinions towards brony haters

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5c_UVNpzuU

Hey! Just a quick note to let you know that I've merged your topic with an existing thread. We like to keep things neat by having the same discussions in one place. Also, topics relating to the brony fandom should be made in Sugarcube Corner. Thanks!

I don't care. Hell, I hate on some parts of the fandom myself, or at least find them better to laugh at versus actually participating. Everything gets it's lovers and it's detractors, fact of the world.

I don't think it's really anything personal toward bronies. Honestly, I just think most people have a sort of subconscious desires to judge, hate, and deride people who are different from them, completely devoid of logic or reason. I catch myself doing it in thought, too, although I usually manage to stop myself before it reaches the point of actions.

I don't care about the haters.... most of them are just hating to mess with people.

Their only response to why they hate.... "It's girly."

At least that's what I heard.

I guess you could say that I am kind of surprised by all the hate people get for liking this show... I mean i know there are people out there who are quick to judge but honestly what is your opinions?

Forgive me if its late, but you are right.  There are a lot of asses out there who are way too judgmental on people who watch this show.  TBH, I was one of those haters, during the first season, but after my ex-gf made me sit through one, I found it more family oriented.  What these haters see is that the show is all-girl oriented when its not.  Everyone has there own opinions and like people say, "Haters gonna Hate" but we are all entitled to our own decisions, and nothing can't stop that.  If people like it, then accept it.  Its there choice.  I applaud your point, :D

If they're not actively trying to antagonize a fan, I don't care. People are going to like and dislike different things, it's just how the world works.

I don't approve of people deliberately being antagonistic and going out of their way to be jerks to fans and vice versa. But if it's not affecting me in any way why bother.

I think it's bullshit because the Pokemon fandom has just as many problems as us and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone that demonizes and generalizes Pokefans the way some people/groups do to us, and don't even get me started on the anime fandoms problems.

To be clear, I don't give a shit if you hate the show or not. It's the fan-haters that piss me off to no end.

My opinion? Out of sight, out of mind.

Yeah, I rarely hear about haters as they just don't seem to pop up where I tend to go about my business.

Then avoid freakin' Tumblr if you value your blissful ignorance to their bullshit.

I can sometimes find myself indirectly encountering tumblr and that's through finding pony fanart on derpibooru with tumblr as the source. Only do I follow the source if I'm interested in following a series.
