How Many Season Will MLP: FiM Last?

All good things must come to an end eventually, but I definitely think it's too early to speculate. If anything Hasbro would probably phase out the current gen for a new one to sell a new line of toys when the current ones stop flying off the shelves.

I'd personally like to see MLP take the route of Digimon and have all the current ponies grow up and move along to a new set of ponies. As much as I love the current ones, I think having some fresh faces would really livin' things up. Heck even do an arc that focuses around the various fan-non personalities of background ponies like Lyra, Bon Bon, Doctor Hooves, Derpy, etc. I think that would be amazing.

But that's just my two bits. ;)

As others have said I wouldn’t worry about this being the last season: it’s only just started with season 4 and so far Hasbro or any of the other people involved with the show have no good reason to bring this show to an end.

And even if it is the last season: then MLP FIM would have had a good run and we still have season 4 to get through at present, not that I want it to end though.

If it is to be, then so be it. Nothing lasts forever but you can take my word for one thing, as long as one keeps them inside, FIM will never go away.

It seems like something really big is coming this season that will tell us things we didn't know about Equestria. If so, that would be a good place to end the series. On the other hand, it's been very profitable for Hasbro, so it makes sense for them to keep it on the air longer. (Probably too long.)

I'm okay with this being the last season, as long as we get a movie at the end of it.  ;)

I'm afraid that they won't have another season. But it all depends on the success of season. But I feel that if there isn't a season 5, the bronies and pegasisiters would make a fan base season 5. Sorta like Double Rainboom but more Hasbro style ^_^

you know there's a line from the first saber tooth comic where he's talking to birdie and says "are you afraid people are gonna stop trying to kill each other, as long as theirs greed, fear, and envy their will be work a plenty for assians like me"

well unless bronies stop being bronies, and hasbro stops liking money,

i think you fail to see how much hasbro loves money and is prepared to run something into the ground.

go look at DnD

or MTG,

When MLp starts doing as poorly as dnd sales are doing, than you can vaguely begin to worry.  and hasbro is still doing that.

In my personal opinion, The end of MLP is in sight when a plot like Celestia is slowly dying and the Mane 6 are using her final hours to recap on how they have experienced friendship throughout there journeys. During the last few seconds though Celestia tell's Twilight that she is next in line to take the throne. Then what happens is Twilight could be seen putting on her element of magic during a celebration with the mane six standing next to her with there elements on as new princesses to equestria along with Luna.

Well, we wouldn’t want MLP:FiM to last too long; “Spongebob Squarepants” for example is being over-milked for more than its worth and is no longer fresh (the whole “Spongebob, You’re Fired” plot for example gives you a clear hint that the writers are running out of new ideas -_- ); I don’t watch the newer episodes of Spongebob. But we don’t want MLP:FiM to just 'come and go' either.

As far as I’m concerned, this show will last as long as shows such as “The Smurfs” and “The Muppet Babies”; so this show still has quite a way to go before it’s appropriate to end production. I also want to see this show make a few more triumphs before production ends: For example, this show needs a star (even a special star) on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (http://mlpforums.com/topic/79246-idea-a-star-for-mlpfim-on-the-hollywood-walk-of-fame/). I also have another idea for a full theatrical film (unlike “Equestria Girls”, which only received a limited theatrical release) that deals with people (or in the story’s case, Ponies) with Autism making friends and finding confidence.

Also, just like “The Smurfs” and “The Muppet Babies” (and even “Thomas The Tank Engine and Friends”), even after MLP:FiM’s original run ends, it will always be here be able to continue to entertain children for generations to come (indeed, I want my children to watch this show and learn from it). I’m also certain that people will keep the Brony movement going. :D

I'm sure there will be a season 5. I'm pretty sure that MLP:FIM is making Hasbro a ton of money at the moment, so they're most likely not going to cut it short after the 4th season. Now I don't know if we'll get a 6th season, but I believe we'll get a 5th.

i would say 8 cause well now instead of writing a letter to celestia about what they learned about friendship they have a journal which makes me think that there might be alot more lessons to be learned but i dont know. this makes me sad

I really don't want MLP to ever end. If done right it could go on for a really long time like South Park or Family guy. I still find both those shows entertaining to this day. If they can make Twilight an alicorn I'm sure they can do other crazy junk to keep it going for a while. Bronies will obviously make a big deal over something really stupid if they pull a twilicorn move(which I'm certain they'll do eventually) but in the end the show will continue in glory until it jumps off a cliff in a few years or so.

I'd like to see it go to 8-10 seasons, but the writing will probably get weak at around season 5-6.

But then again I might be wrong and we'll get a ton of seasons with great episodes like The Big Bang Theory

I really hope it lasts for a few more seasons. Maybe eight seasons, but no more than that. I'd be very surprised if they could keep the series going strong past that point the way it is now.

This is really a tough one, I really would like the series to continue but at the same time I don't want it to become stale and out stay its welcome. But I am also afraid of what generation 5 will be like (if there is one) because considering that this mlp series actually nailed it in terms of character design and personality I really don't want to see a decline happen like what happened with the original mlp where it started out with actual conflict in the 1st generation, and then devolved into slice of life, social get together's in every other generation except gen 4.

okay i need season 4,5, and a mini season so six can be like 3 fallowed by another bad movie.

I want it to end poorly, because if it has a great ending, it'll suck.  you can't ever end on a great note cause people will want more.

that last season has to be... well a let down.  it has to go "Okay enough,"

I like season 4, and i wanna love season 5, but when it's time to be over i'm hopping that last season is a gentle nudge "okay... you guys need to kick the habbit."

I think Season 6 will end it, but I'd rather it be season 8. I do want it to last, but I have to agree with what a lot of people have said in that I'd rather have it end at season 4 than become a spongebob. Too much of a good thing can be bad...
