music How important is music to you?

I love it. Music is, a sort of high. Sitting in a dark room with the glare of my phone or laptop staring around in the dark at night or driving home after a long day or even sitting somewhere peaceful is a totally different world, i'm not saying i don't listen to music in the day but somehow at night it's a real trip. The feelings come out, i look at what i wanna do with my life and what I've done so far with it. Really racks my brain. Dunno man it's pretty great.

Music isn't super important to me... . I like music because I like languages and music allows me to listen to other languages. That's basically it . It's nothing more than a simple hobby for me.

 

Of course, there are several English songs that I like for other reasons, like songs that my friends like or songs that apply to my life. But even then I'll go days without listening to music.

I agree with Denim&Venom, I cannot go 1 day without listening to some sort of metal, it's like if you feel down and depressed I would either go to my ponies or to my metal.

I do want to follow up to my earlier post to mention how music affects me when it's attached to visuals. For example, music over performance completely enraptures me sometimes. Whether it be a movie or a performance in a sport or whatever, when there's something visual choreographed or attached to music in a dramatic way....thats the feeling of love and appreciation that I get for music at this stage in my life. I'm always in awe and wonder at those people who can do amazing things or that unbelievable things have happened to. The perfect music over perfect editing, I just love that. It magnifies the impact for me of both the storytelling and the music. It creates new favorite songs for me all the time.

* i wouldn't really say music is important to me or anything. if anything, i will usually happily sit at the computer all day in silence with no music at all, but i think that is largely due to me never knowing what to listen to. when i do listen to anything, it's usually the same song on repeat over and over.

 

* i guess music is definitely important to me when it comes to my favourite genre of games: music/rhythm. i mean, how would you possibly play a game like that with no music?!

Music is very important to me, because I can express my feelings through it. Music also helps me concentrate or get pumped up for something, like a race for example! I have always been around music since I was little, maybe about 5 years old. My mom used to be in a few punk bands so I'd always be exposed to it. I can somewhat sing, so when I'm upset or angry, I sometimes sing to get some of my anger out! It actually helps me calm down for a little while. 

 

Random question: Has anyone else gotten goosebumps listening to music? I know I have. Whenever I find a song that I really love, or hear vocals that are just so beautiful, it gives me goosebumps.

Music means a ton to me. As a classical pianist I heart, I believe that music is a means to tell a story. It can also be used to uplift but sadly...also degrade because of today's hip-hop. The majority of it is not good. Overall, music has really shaped my life. If I had not listened to classical all those nights, don't know where'd I be now.

It's ok. I like music but not all music, I'm very selective with the songs or tracks i like and like to listen again.... hehe, I'm starting to sound like Ego: "I don't like music. I LOVE it. If I don't love it, I don't listen.” So I don't seek music, I don't listen to the radio or the newest hits, I don't have favorite bands of a favorite artist, I have just certain songs or tracks that suddenly clicked, or a genere, or certain songs that remind me of something else and I like it by association, And those are very important to me so I listen them again but not too much or too often to not spoil them. I normally like music that doesn't include voices or is more purely instrumental for example. Music is VERY personal to me.

Like pretty much everyone, I like music. I may not be as obsessed as many people are, but it has its place and I would not care for a world without it. Art is necessary to existence and music is a major art form. I don’t listen to music around the clock, but there are times when I need it and don’t want to be without it. I just spent the past day adding 80 new songs to my playlists, so I guess I’ll be doing some listening pretty soon.
