What if you had the option.

What if there was a way that, similar to The Matrix you could be plugged into a machine and put in a coma like state-then could decide where to live out your days.

You could live in Equestria, or on the Enterprise or anywhere else you could imagine. All the experiences would seem as real as life does now-but in actual reality you are wasting away in a tank somewhere getting fed through tubes.

Would you go for it?

Yes, as a matter of fact I have thought about this exact thing numerous times so I've put a lot of thought to it. Although I would miss my family and friends I would without doubt go for it. Because of soooo many reasons.

The thought of living in equestria is very tempting believe me. But I would never get anything done in real life. That kinda takes away from the fun. I dunno. This is a toughy. Would I be my oc or a main character? Or a backround pony. Am I in control of who I am or reanimated as someone else?

You would be in control of who you were and where you were-however once you're there, you're there for the duration.

So choose wisely.

Well. In that case. I would choose to live in equestria. It seems pretty fun. But I would make a post on facebook telling people I'll be in equestria for a while. XD

I would rather go for an inception style dream scape thing where I could live in my dreams :).

I could definitely live in a dream for a while, I just love creating and building things and have been fascinated with dreams since i saw the film.

The upside to this is that you could live your full life out + life in a dream for a time :D!

I'd like a good version of normal real life, with part of the goodness being a virtual reality thingy that I could use to go to any place and/or build what I want. Best of all worlds! :D Well, apart from this one huh.png But now I think of it, it'd have the best of this world, the real world, in the good version of this world, so it would be the best of this world as well, so... I confuse myself blush.png

I'd take the red pill. What should I get from a fictional "life" in a fantasy world? That''s unnatural and kinda creepy. Birth, life, death, rebirth and so on.

But otherwise, a life in Equestria or on the Enterprise would be really...

Wow that's actually a really tough question. I guess it would depend if there was Morpheus and Trinity Ponies that went around unlocking people from the machine tongue.png

I would take the opportunity for the sole reason that it doesn't really matter what anybody accomplishes in life, the only reason to accomplish anything is to make life better for those who follow you. However, if we keep striving for accomplishment instead of enjoyment, then nobody before us ever succeeded in their goals and nobody after us ever will. If the technology exists and you have people to keep making it, then people can use the technology and truly be happy. It would be like "winning" life, so why continue playing after you win?

Interesting take on it-I guess it would depend on your definition of winning-People who have all the money they will ever need and can buy anything they want are usually fairly depressed-having nothing to strive for anymore.

I wonder if this would be like that-or would in fact be the eutopia we imagine.

Oh god oh man oh god oh man...if I had the chance to go into the world of Westeros, I'm not sure if I'd take it or not. I would kinda miss my family, despite our general hatred for one another, but I could go all "Army of Darkness" style on the people there. And I could beat the crap outta Joffrey Baratheon. Hard choice...

Oh hell no 51O4s.png

Living in a dreamland while fully knowing that everything is fake is not the best way to spend the rest of your days. I would rather tempering living iron rather than giving away my freedom for an illusion.

Joffrey-yeah I'm with that. That little bastard's had it coming for a while.

Don't know if Westeros would be the idyllic life that most seem to aspire to-but it sure as hell wouldn't be boring.

If I could go back and forth between my world and any world whenever I wanted to, I would say yes. But since that isn't the case in this, I'm going to have to say no.

Give me the damn helmet.

I'm there in a heartbeat, it'd certainly be way more interesting than anything this planet has to offer (probably).

I'm going to be completely honest...I'd probably consider it. There's too many good things I could gain from living in a secondary life as a pony (or in Equestria as a human) and to a degree I sometimes want it.

I wonder if this would be like that-or would in fact be the eutopia we imagine.

part of that depression may stem from them having practically nothing to do, and a virtual reality utopia would fix that. Also, if somebody was truly displeased with the lack of challenge in the current world, they could create a virtual world that is simply a copy of Earth at an earlier date when much was still to be accomplished or perhaps create an entirely new world solely for the purpose of fulfilling some kind of need the person would have to actually achieve something in their lives. Really think about it, I don't mean to get all philosophical or whatever the proper term would be for the situation but we could, as far as we are concerned, be existing in one of these virtual realities and by we I mean from my point of view me since I recognize myself as existing and I am the only person that I can truly believe exists while everybody else could just be a simulated personality built around some kind of program and from your point of view you because I could, for all you know, be a computer rendered person and you could be the only actual true sentient being in the whole universe. OR neither of us, and some random person reading this forum may be the only person who actually exists. or maybe nobody here actually exists. I should really stop drinking so much caffiene...

I would go with it, but only on the simple request that I would have full control over the experience provided by the simulation. Truth be told, even if my request would be refused, I would likely accept their offer anyway. For science, of course.

I'm not sure how we could even exist in that world, simulation or not. The characters models don't even make sense in 3D anymore. That being said...

I'd love to visit an Equestrian Matrix. Maybe even for as long as a month. But my entire life? I'm not quite ready to just pack up and leave the real world forever.

Is there a way to take the blue pill now and store the red one away for later use?
