What is Your Favorite Music Genre?

My favourites are Jazz, Rock and Classical, although my favourite of all three is Jazz. I'm willing to listen to anything, though. :3

I'm generally a pop/indie pop/dance/electronic/top 40 kinda guy. I'd have to say my top 5 artists are (in no particular order), Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Azealia Banks, Lana Del Rey, and Marina + The Diamonds with an honorable mention to Lorde.

I love mostly power metal/progressive metal/alt metal/heavy metal. I also chose other because of my love for visual kei, which is sort of a genre sub-type for j-rock. I'm a HUGE visual kei addict. I just can't get enough of it. <3

Forget bands, I'm in love whole subgenres. Thrash, power metal, groove metal, metalcore, melodic death, gothic metal, nu-metal, N.W.O.B.H.M. I even like some stuff from early metal, progressive metal, early black metal & glam.

 

(and a good bit of rock, electronica/techno, & ambient chillout. I can tolerate classical, jazz & blues)

I'm a huge metal fan, having grown up on it with my dad. My first bands were Slipknot, Korn and Killswitch Engage (with Howard). Since then I've come to listen to anything from metalcore and deathcore to progressive death metal and "Russian turbo polka metal."

I love pop and rock. I've been listening to a lot of P!nk. I also like a mix of the two, pop rock. My current fave pop rock right now is OneRepublic. I also really like Adele, Beyoncé, Estelle.  Not sure what genre they are.

 

BUT my favorite music genre is showtunes! This means stuff you'd hear on Broadway or in a DIsney musical, etc. You get a lot of epic sounding songs there. Defying Gravity, Let it Go, pretty much all the songs of Les Misérables just to give some examples.

Whatever genre Panic! At The Disco is, because I'm honestly not sure I tend to like lots of different kinds of music - my favourite genre in general is rock, mainly including alternative and puck rock. My favourite bands do a lot of different things, though, and often their songs cannot be categorized as such. I also love dubstep, and some other electronic music.

I've never really listened to them before but songs like that one by Persefone always feel too stop-and-go for me. I like my metal to have more flow and melody.

 

It's weird cuz that band seems to have all the right elements but they don't use it the same as other bands I listen to. Maybe I just need to acquire a taste for it.
