My mom really doesn't give a damn!

She's watched a couple episodes with me and likes what she sees. Really she lets me watch anything that doesn't have sexual content. Seriously we've watched BLOODY action fics together.

Personally, we both love cartoons and since I'm a girl it's not a surprise that I like a show directed at girls. But I can imagine that for the guys, they must get ALOT of negative reactions. I feel so sorry for you guys! :(

They were skeptical at first, but now my brother has also become a brony they are willing to watch it. I just have to find the right episode to show them.

Well, ironically, one year ago, today, my parents shunned me for 20 hours because I told them I like ponies. Yeah...I have some messed up parents, but I love them at times. They seem to be cool with it now.

My parents both think it's great. When I first told my mother about Bronies and how I was a Brony, she laughed and thought it was pretty cute. When my dad first found out, he was a little sceptical at first and thought it was a giant irony thing, but now he thinks it's great. He says it's the sort of thing he would've been a part of if he were my age :)

When I turned 17, they got me a MLP-themed birthday card. Printed out a picture of the Mane 6 with party hats and a giant cake and stuff <3

My parents really like the show. I've shown them a few episodes from each season, including Boast BustersA Canterlot Wedding: Part 1A Canterlot Wedding: Part 2The Crystal Empire: Part 1The Crystal Empire: Part 2Too Many Pinkie PiesSleepless in PonyvilleGames Ponies Play, and Magical Mystery Cure.

I haven't shown my parents Equestria Girls yet, though. I'm interested to see whether or not they will like it as much as Friendship is Magic.

My parents kinda go "wat?... Ponies? Seriously?" Though this is kind of amusing since i've been in the anthro community for YEARS, not to mention the fact that i love Disney movies and all manner of kid shows. I love the lion king so whats different about ponies? XD Its just talking animals for ponies sake!

I just laugh when my mother makes faces at it. XD My dad and bro dont really care. They have always loved cartoons and my brother loves the fact that i can entertain my niece with MLP related things. XD

Well my parents accepted it... but they just thought it was weird and teased me about it time to time. Same thing with friends. Eventually I left the herd for a while and just joined back, this time I'm going to be a closet brony though...

My mum thinks its childish. She doesn't mind too much that I like it but she thinks that I'm just immature and one day I'll grow out of this "phase". She accepted it much more after I showed her the video about bronies on PBS Idea Channel as well as stats showing that most bronies are heterosexual and aren't in it for the hot pony action. After realising just how big a fandom this is I think she was ok with it as she realised there must be a reason why 12 million people in the US alone identify themselves as bronies. My dad never understood me and never will so me liking MLP hasn't changed anything between us.

My parents don't care at all, I have a little sister and I have watched "dora the explorer" and yelled at the tv in front of them. At first they were kind of surprised but I showed my mom "feeling Pinkie keen" and said to my father that the show was great and just continued to watch. They didn't care that much afterwards, besides you just do what makes you happy. I have always liked cartoons, for me it wasn't that weird to watch MLP. So yeah, I love fun things.

My mom thinks that me being a brony and watching MLP is just a phase or something.  But I don't think she understands how the show has changed me.  She hasn't seen any MLP.  My dad has a slightly better clue about the bronies after he took me to Equestria Girls.  We talked for a while about the show and he asked a lot of questions about characters and physics in the show.  To my knowledge hes has seen none of the show... Although I should probably try to show him the return of Harmony, as it has John DeLancie as Discord (he is a big fan of star trek and Q).

My mother, while she doesn't hate it, sometimes teases me for liking it. As far as I know, she's never seen it, but she isn't one to hate someone for watching something. ahSfIni.png

My dad has absolutely no idea that I watch it or enjoy it. I don't really think he'll care much for it either way. mlp-swtounge.png

I see so many people who's parents despise and make fun of their own sons, for watching this show. Why do they have to be so damn cold, seriously?!?! Anyways, I actually watch the show with my mom or dad sometimes, mom thinks its cute and adorable. My dad likes the writing and loves Dashie!!!! Isn't that how it always should be?! o_o

I wish more people would call me ,"sir"....without adding, "You're making a scene".

My parents are fine with it. They think it's a little strange I enjoy such a show, but, my adult sister watches it too, so I have nothing to feel embarrassed about. :P But seriously, the most they've done is tease me about it, and I'm fine with that.

My mom is okay with it, when she's around and if I ask her if I can watch an episode on TV she'll likely say yes. :)

My dad though, I'm sure he doesn't like the show at all. I mean, he's okay with me liking it I guess, as long as he doesn't have to see it himself. And I try to watch it around him, but he usually would sigh and leave the room or something after a bit, he has stayed for a bit sometimes though. :P

Overall I don't try to shove my bronyness in my parents' faces, I prefer watching MLP alone when I can. But, I'm not afraid of watching it around them when I want to either. ^_^

My parents respect my life choices, though they dad sometimes find my decisions kind of odd. All it took was a couple songs from the show for my mom to be cool with it, who I then worked with to get my entire family to go to a pony con together. Time will tell what his reaction will be to the fandom.

My mother seems to be indifferent to my enjoyment of MLP, much to my glee. It makes things so much easier when nobody you have to be with for an extended period of time doesn't care about such things.

The subject of my bronydom once came up within earshot of my mother and she was quick to voice her disapproval. Don't recall what she said exactly, but it was the usual "Why do you like that shit?" response. She doesn't know about FiM so she likely thought I was referring to the old cartoon.

I couldn't be bothered to correct her though. It was too amusing.

  • 2 weeks later...

My dad doesn't particularly care for it. My mom thinks the character designs are cool. Both have watched some episodes, but neither is interested in being a Brony. Not their cup o tea.
