I thought I'd make this thread since I have nothing else better to do. Anyway, have you ever had a moment of pure bliss? A time of complete happiness? If you ever did have such a moment, share your experiences here.

i had one of those moments at free festival last year. it was the first actually really big party i ever visited, and i instantly became addicted to the feeling. 

i can't really compare it to anything. just the feeling of a few thousand people all going crazy to the same music, that feeling of unity, that was really amazing. and it still is everytime i visit a festival

Ah.. So many happy times the past seasons supporting Norwich City FC (Soccer...). Last minute winners usually send me and thousands of others in the ground into jubilation. But I guess that's the like of a football supporter. I love it.

Few and far between as these moments are, I had one just yesterday.  I was half-excited, since I had just got the new album from one of my favourite bands - Haken - but I managed to wind down enough to start listening to it.

 

And then this song - the introduction - played.

The rest of the album was brilliant, too, but given both my relaxed mood and the beauty of the song, nothing quite topped those first couple of minutes.

 

The cherry on top is that this song somehow manages to lyrically embody many bronies' outlook on life, including my own...even though the guys who wrote it have probably never even heard of the show.

Time to go into past nostalgia!

 

The time where I felt moments of pure bliss, was when my friend and I were hanging out all of the time at his house. I told him that he is a very special friend to me, and that moment just made my bliss flutter.

One was while I was waiting in line for the midnight release of Skyrim with my friend and his brother. We were bundled up in warm clothing, and that night my friend's depression was gone for some reason, and he and his brother were getting along very well (they normally have a dysfunctional mutual hate relationship). It was very fun, interacting with them and the fellow customers excited for Skyrim, talking and having fun with a demo of Skyrim that was available outside the door before Skyrim went on sale.

 

Another was about a week ago. My friend (same from earlier) had been going through a very bad depression spell, and I was worried sick while trying to be there for him. I was laying in bed, and I don't know what happened (I think the warmth of the room plus the sound and warm air being circulated by the fan, plus the glow from my laptop), but I got lulled into a trance, and I felt all the tension I had built up in me melt away. It felt like I had somehow achieved inner peace for like fifteen minutes.

And three weeks ago, I went to the music shop to buy Selling England By the Pound - Genesis, and I found a rare album, Gentle Giant.

Oh geez... I've had so many moments of happiness and joy, but moments of pure bliss...? This will be tough... I can only think of one, and I still cherish it to an extent. It sounds stupid, but I don't care!

 

Here's the sitch. I was sitting by the staircase, alone with my crush (she wasn't my crush then. I just wanted to be her friend at the time). When it was nearly time to go to class, this happened:

 

 

• My crush: "Oh, it's almost time for class! Well, that was all the time I had for working today."
• Me: "Oh... I'm sorry for disturbing you."
• My crush: "Oh no! You helped me... You comforted me. *gives me cute smile*
• Me: *dies of daww...* *Shakes head* "Uhh... thank... you?" *Ahhh.... I want to wuv her...*

probably when my crush accepted me a while back. that was really fun.

also, call me lame, but when I play normals on League at like 3 am with my huge pool of friends it gets really intense and fun. teamwork is one of my favorite things and i just love it when it works out right :3 

Also when I get to see my sister. I never see her anymore, cuz she's in a university in France, but when I do see her it makes me really happy

all jokes and innuendo aside I have had a few of those moments and not just the NSFW ones. My most recent was when the minute maid punches at work which were on add for 99 cents ran out. Normally the warehouse sends so much of that shit every time it goes on add that it takes me weeks sometimes even months to get rid of it all. I swear that Satan himself must have invented this stuff just to further torment me. I have never been so happy to run out of something, I finally had some god damn room in my cooler again. Another recent one was when I first found out I liked cartoon ponies, I can't explain but there was something very liberating and exciting about it.

Moment of pure bliss? Well, I just moved across the country and when I finally got all my stuff unpacked and set up, I guess that was a moment of 'extreme contentment' -- not so sure I go so far as to call it pure bliss.

 

Oh, I know! The first time I saw Basia Bulat at the folk festival in Yellowknife! My friends and I were lying on the sand in front of the main stage. We had no idea who she was but in under a minute, there were tears rolling down all our cheeks. We didn't say anything -- it was too precious to spoil with words. I'm sure we weren't the only ones in the crowd affected that way.

Come to think of it, it's generally an amazing live act that gives me that kind of feeling. I remember seeing The Musical Box and thinking I had never been happier in my life. Or the Dave Murphy band in Toronto doing Squib Cakes or Aja (the song, not the band) or similar.

 

The only other times I recall feeling like that was when it was drug induced, but that was a looooong time ago and I ain't going there again.

I remember when I came across a post of his. He was... quite upset about the suicide of his girlfriend. Being the kind of forums it is, he was getting bashed but I PMed him and we started talking. This is when I first got the idea to try and be a parenting caregiver to someone to try and bring out the best in him. Well, that ended up working better than expected. I coddled him and I told him that he's like a son to me and said that I loved him. When he said it, I really felt like he meant it and I teared up.

I just remembered my last one. I saw a cockroach upside down in my shower. He was still alive. So I took my zippo lighter fluid and my lighter (I'm not a smoker) and set it a flame. I laughed while (get this) it screamed as it died. The day after I felt so guilty though.

I was actually wondering about this the other day.

 

I've never actually gotten a moment of full bliss, no stress, no tension.. it's difficult for me to have a truly happy moment.

 

The closest I've gotten to was when I was watching a movie with my friends and family, yet I had a papercut earlier, and it was still stinging at the time.

Occasionally I will experience such feelings. Though, there are certain people who instantly put me in such a state just by talking with me. September 2012 was especially ecstatic for me. And most recently, well, any time that Hylian Twilian and I have a conversation. ;3

  Earlier today I was walking around and found out that some new street art had popped up in one of the areas I like to go to.  I walked around for a while thinking all this new art was so cool.  I also watched the sun set over one of the most beautiful beaches in California, which was nice too.  I also feel great when I get chosen to be in a commercial, and when I'm done I feel like I can do anything.

 

  It doesn't take that much to make me happy.  If I really enjoy something I can easily get lost in it to the point where nothing else matters during that moment.

I've had quite a few recently. Earlier today going paintballing as part of my friends birthday party and sitting beside my mates and blind firing blanks over the top of cover while feeling like you could get shot at any moment. Running cover to cover and firing blindly to scare away enemy fire in our direction. So awesome!!1!

 

Recently listening to "Disclosure - F for You (T.E.E.D Remix)" for it's massive sci fi feel tothe bass and it leading me to T.E.E.D and his musical talent in composing Electronic.

 

Watching the movie "The Place beyond the Pines" a few months ago and thinking back to how beautiful as a drama. With it's progression of story, linking of main plot point to others- just watch it reader and be amazed.

Though I'm guessing that's not what we're talking about here, I guess it was the first time I redlined a car, that was a pure bliss for me. Then shift, the shifting gives you even more bliss.

 

Just driving in general gives me bliss. Going sideways as well, driving a beautiful car gives me a moment of pure bliss as well.

 

Also, touching beautiful cars gives me moments of pure bliss.

 

Then last but not least, being in my bed feeling all cuddly and warm. Waking up too early, to discover that I have at least a few hours until I have to wake up.. That's also a moment of pure bliss, I'll experience more later on.

First time I flipped candy, dammmnn, that felt amazing. I was sure that the good feelings would kill me.

 

Any time when it's 30+ degrees Celsius outside, I love hot weather, even when it's 40-45 degrees outside. There's nothing better than stepping outside and the warmth welcoming you with open arms.

 

The times I go and relax with friends, we have a wonderful spot to go to and it feels great just being there, makes all of my worries go away.

 

Sometimes, seeing people smile or just being happy makes my day. Or people thanking me.
