Potentially troubling news for YellowQuiet fans. Of all the Mane 6 in round 1, she had the lowest percentage of votes at 83% (54/65)

 

Rainbow was 83% too (but much smaller vote size with 25/30), Twilight was 96%, Applejack was 98%, Rarity was 92%, Pinkie was 100% unanimous.

Octavia and Vinyl have a deep following despite their lack of doing anything within the show. 

 

In this tournament (2012-2014), Octavia's record is 5-2, Vinyl's is 7-2.

In the case, I would honestly vote Octavia over Scootaloo because she shares my love for classical music. HOWEVER, I appreciate Scootaloo more because she's a more major character and because she's very cute. So go Scoots :3

Looks like Octavia's fallen a bit behind Scoots.

 

In response to all the bewilderment about her popularity (and background ponies in general), it's largely from how the fans develop them rather than what the show does with them...or, doesn't do.

 

Ponies like Octavia don't get to shine in the same spotlight, but they thrive under several others.

 

 

 

Only one such example of how she develops into more than ever before.

 

There are countless takes on her that'd earn your attention/appreciation.

Day 4 in Review:

 

Huh, gotta say I'm just a little disappointed that Bon Bon managed to edge out Roseluck, I was really rooting for the latter there.  Ah well, not like it really matters, neither of them really would have stood a shot in the next round.  As for the rest, no real surprises (again), but hey, now we start getting into some more interesting competition in the Round of 32.  Speaking of which...

 

Day 5 Comments

 

The best competition going on today looks to be Spike and Shining Armor, that really is an interesting match up, especially this early on.  Rooting for the little dragon dude myself, and I'm quite confident he'll pull off a victory in the end.  I wish Scootaloo was a little further ahead of Octavia, although I do understand why that match up is that close, seeing as Octavia really is one of the most popular background ponies.  Still expect Scoots to win in the end.  As for the other two competitions, Twilight and Rarity should win their matches quite easily.  Still, if Spike ends up facing Rarity in the Sweet 16, that'll be most interesting indeed!

As for the other matchups, Rarity without hesitation in the 2-7. Sombra (or as I call him, "cloud of smoke with teeth") is, for me at least, the biggest disappointment in the show's history. 

 

Might have considered Octavia last year, but then "Flight to the Finish" happened. Easily my favorite of season 4. That's enough for Scoots to get the nod, easily.

 

Eh... guys, it's difficult to say, but it must be said: if Cheese Sandwich had been voiced by literally anyone other than Weird Al, he would have almost NOTHING going for him as a character. He's Pinkie Pie, only without the four full seasons of depth and characterization that makes Pinkie special. I cannot fathom how he draws any votes at all against the series' protagonist. And I'm one of the biggest Weird Al fans you'll find.

 

I feared Mr. Yankovic might have enough power to pull Cheese to an early round upset of Twi. I'm relieved to see this is not the case.

What do you mean? I thought Scoots was the background pony here.    Also I never really liked her much so I am perfectly fine with doing so.

Anyways just because of that I say vote Octavia for the win everybody.

Besides that I voted for Twilight Spike and Rarity as they clearly deserve to make it far in this competition.

Also remember to vote for the classical musician over the dodo who somehow snuck into the show and did almost nothing at all. (still love flight to the finish soo much but not enough to vote for her)
