Welll, Dash was already really quite popular before Sonic Rainboom, pretty sure her and Flutters were already the tops. Eh I liked Sonic Rainboom Plenty but for me it was always overshadowed by Suited For Success and Party of One, which were bot significantly better character spotlights and actually had the character being spotlighted learn the lesson in the end. Those other 2 episodes told you a lot more about the characters beings spotlighted as well. Hell Id be hard pressed to find an episode in the entire run of the show that demonstrates so many things about a character to the audience as Suited for Success does for Rarity who really had not gotten much at all at that point.

 

But yeah iv noticed that tendency, it's pretty much the main reason why Twilight's Kingdom and A Canterlot Wedding being as popular as they are (well that and the songs), when both are significantly more flawed than say Return of Harmony or the Cutie Map (especially, even though it IS very fun to watch, Canterlot Wedding). As for me, I pretty much generally prefer slice of life stuff, I think characterization can shine through a lot more there. Though I admit I kinda want a big Rarity/Fluttershy action adventure episode. Just cause they are the ponies I think most people least expect for that kind of story.

 

 

Also the ending of Friendship Games was much more Magical Girl than DBZ, think more Sailor Moon and stuff like that, even had magical girl transformation sequences.

 

Well the magical girl elements and the DBZ elements blur a little. When the characters are flying around and firing lasers I tend to classify that more as DBZ than magical girl, since magical girl shows tend to give characters more defined "attacks" that they rely on.

But either or, I think bronies tend to react very positively to both magical girl elements and DBZ elements, since both result in action. (heck, they seem to be trying to cater more to that since an upcoming toyline is going to be under the name of "Guardians of harmony" which implies a desire to tap that aspect of the show more)

My favorite mane pony is by far Twilight Sparkle. Simply, I love the fact that she's an egghead (or well-read?) who takes her studies seriously. And she's kind, but also kind of introverted. I can relate to her a lot. She's still cool, even as an alicorn, but I prefer her as an unicorn, honestly. Nah, she's awesome, either way!

Close runner-ups are Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.

 

My favorite CMC is Scootalo. Again, I can relate to her a lot, since we are both tomboys. She wants to be tough, and she is, but she still cares about her friends. And I love how she idolizes RD. I love that episode where they "besister" each other. <3

 

I also adore Luna, because she's dark, and imperfect, but still... normal. She appears much more realistic than Celestia.

Favourite Mane 6 (and favourite overall): Pinkie Pie because she's just funny and laughs a lot. I value comedy and laughter more than almost and other traits tbh

Favourite Secondary: Discord. For a similar reason as well as the fact he turned good... sort of. And who doesn't love a bit of chocolate rain every so often XD Tay Zonday is best draconequus :3

Favourite Tertiary: I voted Chunky but that was mainly because it made me laugh when I saw the option XD My actual favourite is probably Viynl because I've always got earphones or headphones on so I can relate to the not hearing a word other people say thing, lol

Pinkie Pie is my fav pony. What more do you need than a fun loving pink pony, who can defy the laws of physics, break the fourth wall, and turn any situation into a crazy mess of balloons and streamers. I can relate to her more than any other pony, and enjoy every minute of the show she's in.

Um...my favourite pony is Minuette. Why? Well...she reminds me of the person I could be - happy, always happy; being a pollyanna. Instead, I'm more introverted and a bit depressed. I'm gonna change that one day, but I don't know when.

Dash or AJ. Although AN is a mixed bag of feelings because, aside from dead parents forcing into head of the house role, I dated someone just like her. Best time of my life and it ended horribly. Fluttershy brings up a close second.

Mane Six: Rarity. She's a lady, she's classy, she's beautiful, if anypony knows how to behave themselves, it's her, and we share a tendency for overdressing. Besides, I like hammy ponies.

 

Secondary: Photo Finish. I already mentioned hammy ponies, and Photo Finish is an OVER ZE TOP ham. That is, she's altogether OVER ZE TOP. And her cutie mark (which is the same as Twilight's) stands for DE MAGIKS.

 

Background: Seafoam. (I'm surprised that she's on the list while three of the Background Ten are missing.) Beautiful colour scheme, one-of-a-kind cutie mark, and she's multi-talented (music, acting, sports etc.). She could even teach Rarity a few things about how to be classy.

I've always had a hard time picking a favorite mane 6 pony, but I will say that I find Fluttershy to be the most relatable.

 

As for background characters, I don't know, maybe Lyra? Her color scheme looks like it would be at home on a '57 Chevy, and I've always been fond of those classic '50s cars.

Fluttershy is my favorite of the mane six because she's just cute and fun to watch to me but Rainbow Dash comes in a very close second.

 

My favorite of secondaries are Scootaloo who is also my favorite crusader along with the other crusader's, I like Scootaloo again, because I think she's cute and because of her attitide.

 

Favortite Backround ponies are Derpy, Bon Bon, and Lyra and DJ P0N3, can't really think why.
